I’m not vegan and yet I see myself making more and more of your meals and they are so good! 🤤🤤🤤

Love this videos, keep them coming please!
The faces you made when taking the pre-workout straight to the dome! haha. I bought beetroot powder for a pre-workout after seeing the amount of nitrates in it, and I’m making the same if not worse faces when having it haha. (I know beetroot crystals taste better, but I can’t rationalize having it when I know there’s something better a.k.a. the straight powder.

For your elbow, I’d recommend lightening the weight and doing super slow eccentric movements with faster or the same speed concentric movements. This will be safer for your joint, putting less force in the joint, while still putting the muscle through a lot of strain. Taking the movement slow will also help with gauging what range of motion of causes pain, you can then progress to making this ROM as high as possible without pain. You should also pause when the muscle/tendons are most stretched in the movement (for the dip, this would be at the bottom of the movement), this will allow the joint to not undergo a large change in force as the joint hinges quickly. Pausing will allow the force to come over a larger time period and cause less stress to it.

So, that is it! You know you “made it” in life when someone like Dr Greger sends you some gifts! OMG! Love it!!

  • @mrcharlez666 says:

Always good to see a full day of eating with some workouts in there. 👍🏼

  • @SusanArrudaFitness says:

PRP is miraculous and will fix your tendinitis; a worthwhile investment!! YES, I also love to skip and the doubles are challenging but sooo rewarding when you make progress and like everything, consistency is key! The FF effect is so cool! I’ve got to try the kalettes and make your pasta salad recipe!😋

Wow! That mic makes a huge difference. And I always thought the sound of your videos was great before. I definitely appreciate seeing the “repetitive” food as that’s how I like to eat, too. And seeing that it serves you and your health well makes me feel better about my own eating. Which, today for lunch, included a Simnett-approved grilled avocado sandwich with miso paste and mustard. That combo is so ridiculously good. As always, awesome video. Thanks for the good vibes. ✌

    • @Simnettnutrition says:

Thanks so much for the mic feedback! It’s been fun to use so far. Enjoy your grilled avocado sandwich! It’s one of the best things ever 🙂

Yes, simmering/boiling tofu for about 20 minutes in a marinade will give it much more flavor than just letting it just sit in the same marinade. It also changes the texture. It is a game-changer for those of us who want to eat more tofu, but don’t really like the flavor of plain tofu. Same goes for soy curls.

  • @Maddogskullcap says:

You are so inspirational. i am isolated from my family due to covi–d, I can’t wait to get back in the kitchen to cook healthy meals and exercise with my family.

  • @parkersavage8774 says:

Man I feel you. I came down with bug for a whole week. Getting back to the exercise routine lifted me up so quick! As always great meals, great fun, and wow what an incredible clip with the jumping rope you nailed that.

  • @Lozen2009 says:

I haven’t seen those hybrid kale and Brussels sprouts but they looked awesome. I also enjoy how much you love food! 🙂 I feel like everyone is down in the dumps and just seeing your “heck yeah” when you tasted the food made me smile. 💜💜💜

  • @mandym8781 says:

I was having elbow issues too and never thought to use my massage gun – great idea! I hope yours heals quickly! And yes, not exercising is so bad for mental health and our mood 😞

Loved the laughter during your oatmeal 😂

Yay, I pre-ordered How Not to Age 🙌

Your sped up jump rope looked like something out of a Jamiroquai video clip! 😀

  • @rowenaanderson3739 says:

Feeling for you Derek ❤️ I know winter isn’t your favourite season. Exercise is our drug 💪

  • @mammabear2183 says:

Thank you for all the hard work you put into your videos. I LOVED the jump rope editing effects you did!!!!! So cool!!! I never saw that before. Also I really appreciate all your recipes videos even if they are repetitive and simple. It is a great reminder that it doesn’t have to be complicated to be good! Thank you!!!

  • @terrytas13 says:

Love that we got a a workout with a full day of eating video. Working out definitely helps! I can’t go more than a few days without getting a good workout in. Feels great to push your body. Love Simnett Nutrition!

  • @loribakergirl6438 says:

Thank you for the awesome oatmeal & other recipes! I want to try that with the banana “milk” and the dates 😮 I’ve learned about so many new great foods & ingredients from you. The pasta looks amazing! 🤤 I’m also going to check out the book by Dr. Gregor! How cool he sent you a package!! So lucky! 🎉

  • @lindsaytoussaint says:

Some say “repetitive” I say consistent! I love that you show so many variations of the same themes. Great stuff as always.

And man I know what you mean. Myself I’ve been double dosing the vitamin D every few days 😅 But being out in nature and the gym are really the only things putting pep in my step during these darker days.

Thanks for making YouTube a wholesome and worthwhile destination Derek and Crystal.

  • @carolannfox1644 says:

Love seeing you and Crystal. Your meals looked great and I just ordered some of that BBQ sauce to make the tofu. Thanks!

  • @laurieharnicker5451 says:

You have some of the most interesting food choices up by you. Your meals look just delicious and give me much needed inspiration when I am in a food rut. Or an exercise rut as well! I always look forward to watching your new creations.

  • @podatus1098 says:

Derek, the best thing I’ve learned from you is mixing a ton of textures and flavors into the dish makes each component more delicious. Also, yes, I loved the new “Day of Eating” format. It’s hard to imagine that you continue to improve your content, but somehow you do. Crystal cameos are part of the magic too, because you guys are such a great support for each other. Looking forward to seeing how you use the beans Dr. Greger sent you!!
