How we reached a point where people publicly starve themselves in general is beyond me. And to then sell it as a wonder drug is the cherry on top. Like death is just a side effect of trying to fit the current in-body

    • @anna-fm7qn says:

I don’t think any doctor that prescribes ozempic actually promotes these crazy low calorie diets.

    • @DawgMama says:

I agree. It’s shocking. I am also constantly commenting about how much of the “food” is not actually food at all. Taking time to break down all the science of powders, bars, and prepackaged meals but never tsking time to just buy and cook fresh food is beyond my comprehension.

    • @audreynelson3997 says:

      Blame the patriarchy

    • @kittster2785 says:

And dieitians like Abbey are promoting it 💀

    • @dawnwegner4056 says:

It really terrifies me, among other things. I really dread over the next few years or so, when the pendulum swings the other way. And we have people dealing with the after effects of malnutrition, thyroid cancers, pancreatitis Etc from these meds.

I love these review videos 😊
I would love to see a review of Susie Todd’s food-related PCOS videos

Hey abbey❤️❤️ Over these past months you have helped me so much! From the point of not even drinking water because I was afraid to bloat to a healthy relationship with food, you make so much impact on all of us!🩷🩷 Lots of support from me!

  • @101skully9 says:

I’ve been using information from your videos to help plug in whatever I was missing in my diet before. I started around 4 months ago, and I grew a full inch taller. I’ve also been really prioritizing protein so I could reach my goals of growing muscle and getting stronger at the gym. It’s just that since I was little, everyone around me emphasized weight loss as the cure to all my problems (I was a pretty chubby kid), and a strict diet regimen as the way to get there. I haven’t lost any weight so far, and that isn’t my goal, but I have slimmed down a bit and I feel a lot more energy. I just want to say thank you for making the content that you do and guiding us all!

  • @kristin87425 says:

For me: after the extreme prolonged nausea and vomiting in my pregnancies: I would never CHOOSE to be sick on purpose. I’m hoping these people are taking care of their mental health as well. The mental toll that nausea takes is huge.

  • @catchthesehands2936 says:

I’ve really liked your content lately. I’m in a higher calorie deficit right now, trying to baby weight while breastfeeding. The knowledge about increasing protein is really helpful.

  • @TheFriendliestPunk says:

Hi Abbey, I found your channel during the worst of my ED relapse and your videos are a big reason why I was able to pull myself out of it. Without exaggeration, you helped save my life. I just wanted to say I’m grateful that you do what you do

  • @Pepper-sg5rc says:

I don’t take ozempic but I struggle with loss of appetite. What you said near the end was really sweet. It keep those protein products stocked

  • @darkangel4994 says:

hi abbey. i’ve been subscribed to you for awhile now (a couple years i think) and lately i’ve started weightlifting to build muscle and i’m a little confused about how much protein im supposed to be eating everyday. i lift 3x a week and have been stuck in my progress for awhile and im wondering if it may have to do with my protein intake? im about 175 lbs and everywhere i look recommends different amounts of protein per pound so im getting confused. any advice?

  • @SoloAdventureDiva says:

As a type 1 diabetic, i hope the people who need this medicine get it. Please listen to your specialist ( doctor, nutritionist, dietitian). It’s hard out here in these insulin/medicine streets 💜💛

    • @katherinekrueger1908 says:

It infuriates me as a fellow diabetic T1 that people who do not need these medications are using them for weight loss. Leave them for people who need them!! Also I tried Mounjaro and I have never been sicker in my life.

    • @electricmosswitch says:

The problem is that the only way for people to get ozempic in the first place is for a doctor to prescribe it.

I work in a pharmacy and it absolutely kills my soul to see how many doctors prescribe it for weight loss when it’s on back order across all of canada (& I assume many other countries). We’re not allowed to discriminate based on what the person is taking the drug for, for obvious reasons, but it means that if we have 1 box left and a person who wants it for weight loss calls us for it before someone who needs it for diabetes, the diabetic person will go without. 🫠

  • @No-sw5td says:

abbey, your videos have given me the tools to approach weight loss responsibly and sustainably. i appreciate your message of bodily autonomy and it has helped me feel at peace with my body in general. i still have my own body related goals because i am a petite person and i should be aware of not overeating from emotional eating or just boredom lol anyway i love your work and i am continuously taking your advice! hunger crushing combo + proteiiinnnn all day every day!

  • @jennifermarie4708 says:

Thank you Abbey! I have been on Mounjaro for 2 weeks and I really want to lose weight the right way. Prioritizing real foods in a balanced way and I only supplement with one protein shake a day.

  • @autumnelaines says:

I’d love to hear more about if creatine could also help with preserving muscle with these medications.

  • @elizabethbell3300 says:

I’m on a low dose of Ozempic for my type 2 diabetes. It’s doing a great job in lowering my blood sugar. I am losing a bunch of weight without trying. The lack of appetite is worrying since I’m probably not eating enough. I’m going to make a concerted effort to eat more and include all the protein and fiber. It’s tough!

  • @emilyk4821 says:

Thank you for adding the comment at the end about convenience foods! AuDHD makes it very difficult for me to consistently choose nutrient dense food. I do what I can, but there are low executive function days where any food is better than no food. Microwave/canned/more processed foods have been a life saver in just making sure my daily needs are met. If I can do a little extra some days, that’s great, but I used to get so caught up in prioritizing foods that were “better” until I realized that nothing is actually better if I’m not eating it!!

    • @MadisonTaylorSeungri says:

Me and so many others are just proud that you eat everyday and take care of yourself ❤ life can be really hard. Convenience goods are also a lifesaver for me and there is no shame. Thanks for spreading awareness and educating ❤

  • @lorimelton7458 says:

So enjoy your channel; I’ve learned so much about nutrition 😊

  • @yaarazuta7567 says:

My father uses ozempic, diabetic, he doesn’t really changed his weight that drastically, probably 10 kilos down and ever since he maintain, my aunt is also on it because diabetes as well and hardly changed at all, so I never got people that claim it’s a miracle drug

  • @elisareker6093 says:

As a survivor of severe hyperemesis during my last pregnancy there is no way for me to understand how anybody can do this torture to themself voluntarily. Losing appetite and feeling nauseous all day was the worst feeling I ever experienced. Like starving in front of a full plate. I take my extra 20 pounds over that experience any time, not thinking twice!

  • @thelaundress11 says:

I’ve been on semaglutide for 6 months. They start you on such a low dose I didn’t lose really any weight the first 3-4 months. Now I’m down 25lbs, but it’s averaged out to be less than a pound a week which is considered healthy. It made me SSSOOOO sick nonstop the first 5 months, when I switched from Ozenpic to Wegovy it seemed to go away. It does make me either not want to eat or I eat very tiny portions and get full fast. I love it b/c I used to not be able to control eating and I’d stress eat. I know I’m not getting enough calories or protein a day and I’m also vegetarian. I’m worried about it, but I had 80lbs to lose and glad I didn’t have to do bariatric surgery.

  • @missashleysachiko says:

Hi!! You featured my video @bossfidence. I really do pride myself in a balanced approach to my diet on my weight loss journey. I try to hit 150g of protein each day & do workout 3-5 days a week.
