Hi Myra…just wanted to mention what an inspiration you are. Yes, I have tried to loose weight COUNTLESS times; however, you did say something that stuck with me. If the meals I prepare are flavorful and healthy, we will tend to stick to plan. Thank you for posting great, and SIMPLE meal arrangements that are manageable and seals the deal!! 🙌🏼

Thanks so much for sharing, Myra, and congrats on your weight loss and maintenance! You look amazing and that is very inspiring! I’m looking to lose about 135 pounds, altogether. I’ve lost about 65 and have another 75 or 80 to go. I love to make my coconut (milk) curry chicken in a crock pot. I can throw the ingredients in there, in the morning, and then come home to a lovely meal, along with the cauliflower rice. I definitely recommend it, for those who are short on time. I also make extra portions and freeze them, for future meals.

Dare I ask what is your ingredients you put in for your curry in the crock pot, time duration and high or low, just starting this low carb journey and would love all the help I could get…Here in Cornwall I have a slow cooker, I am guessing that’s the same as a crock Pot ,hope so….Congratulations on your weight loss to

    • Jade Paulsen says:

@Alison Mansfield me too. Also pulling for you in Canada.

    • Tiffany B says:

@Alison Mansfield crockpot is just a brand of a slow cooker. That’s why you hear a lot of people refer to it as crockpot. I hope that helps. I know that’s not answering your question about the recipe. You could always google the recipe and read some decide what you like and what would work in the crockpot.

Love how organized this is. It keeps things moving at a good pace. Glad I found you!

  • Sheryl Bracht says:

Looks delicious, Myra! I totally agree about the big salad, I’m so there. Just FYI, as many avocados as we use on low carb, you may want to buy an OXO 3 in 1 avocado tool. I just got mine today and love it. It has a slicer to open the avocado, a built in pitter and a cool one stroke slicer, all in one. Just rinse it off and it is ready to go again. Check it out. ☺️

Love how easy the recipes are. This may be exactly what I needed to see.

  • Laura Cavalcanti says:

Here in Brazil, one of the best, most traditional smoothies is an avocado (actually, abacate, the bigger, tastier version of the fruit) smoothie. Basically, its abacate, sugar, milk, ice and a aquirt of lemon juice. It’s delicious! As is avocado ice-cream. Just adapt it to keto: almond or coconut milk, erythritol and ice and you are good! It’s the best smoothie you’ll ever have!

    Food Mindfulness Movement

Like to add several other habitual change:

    Eat slowly

Breathing: Inhaling exhaling oxygen in between

Chew your food at least 32 times before swallowing

Decrease the volume or amount of food intake in each meal

Cut the processed sugar to zeroand carbs to minimum

Increase the raw greens vegetables such as basil, mint, parsley, green pnion, cilsntro, tarragon, spring savory, watercress

Eat various fruits such as pomogranate, blueberries, pineapples, and citrus like grapefruits

Replace caffeinated and carbonated drinks by various herbal teas like Peppermint, chamomile, and similar with no sweetener and dairy

Cut down all highly processed food and hydrogenated cooking oil

Add good nuts like pistachio, pecan, hazel nut, walnut if raw and presoaked would be better than roasted and worse if caramelized

Increase vegetable and bone broth cooked slowly by root crops, onion, garlic, and Turmeric

Add seeds into your daily meals such chia, flax, pumkin, sunflower, black cumin seeds, basil, sesame, etc…

Choose good spring lamb, young goat, deer, bison over beef or pork for protein and fat

For meat and dairy products choose free range or pasture grazed then organic if affordable

For dairy like yougurt or milk go with highest grade of fat and eat less and moderately

For dairy products go for mostly plain yogurt, feta and goat cheese with no starch, sugar, gelatin, and/or added artificial flavour or colour or additives or food stabilizer.

Think of real good food products with probiotics and prebiotics such as onion, garlic, quality cottage cheese, flax or sesame seeds and MCT oil, kafir, sauerkraut…

Consume less rich gluten products and zero down products with lectin for most part. Grain like wild oats and Rye are recommended.

For bread go with the ones that has only 3 to 5 ingredients contains no canola oil and made with kumut, oats, rye and some nutrient rich seeds and grains for fiber and good fat

Enjoy your home style minful food preparation  and consumption

Be conscious about snacking time, type, amount….

Control your hunger and thirst and leave enough time between each meal 😋 😌

Stop eating after 7 or 8 pm if sleeping at 10 or 11 pm respectively
Start eating good breakfast  at 7 or 8 am. Gradually decrease 3 main meals a day to two main meals with some healthy quality snacks.

Walk, move, do not stand or sit long hours and talk to others to share and exchange information to enhance and expand growing, preparing, consuming real good food and consciousness.
