I must tell you, you’ve done an amazing job!!
I’m def addicted to sugar and have been fighting it for MANY years!!
    I have Hypothyroidism.
I’ve been on keto for the last 3 years and it’s helped me a lot.

I like how honest and genuine you are. You’re so relatable.

  • @glockgirl6572 says:

You are amazing! I feel like I have zero control over my sugar addiction. I need to lose 50 lbs, it is overwhelming. Thank you for being so inspiring โค

What a mature decision you made at such a young age. You had a determination that was way beyond your years. It’s no wonder you have made such a success in your life You’re an inspiration to all of us, and the work you do in tweaking recipes to make them healthier, delicious, and lower carb is just priceless. I’m lucky in that I’ve never been really overweight, but I do have high cholesterol, which runs in my family, and I’m really trying to reach a place in my diet where I can stop taking statins.
Keep up the great work, and I wish you and your family a happy and healthy New Year๐Ÿ˜€

I relate so much to you! Most of my weight gain is from childhood and my diet was absolutely the same as you as a child. Luckily today (31 years old) I am still overweight but I was able to transform most of my fat weight into muscle weight and my diet has dramatically changed, I focus on what gut needs (polyphenols, and everything gut needs to be in optimal shape).I still have some sugar addiction but it has nothing to do with where I used to be. I feel I am making small changes every single day.
    You inspire me SO much!

  • @debhorst5117 says:

I definitely have a sugar addiction. What is the best way to cut out those foods? What do you think are the top 10 foods to avoid when trying to stop a sugar addiction? Thank you. You give me hope.

  • @lynnetruiz says:

Your story sounds incredibly similar to mine! Sugar was my addiction. A graduation picture was my sobering moment. I cried looking at the person I saw! Now, > 60Ibs lost and over 1 year later, Iโ€™m still triggered by cake. I legit get depressed when the serving size is over and struggle with sugar for days after I eat it. Thank you bc now know I need to avoid it no matter the occasion & swap it instead. Iโ€™d never thought of it how you explained it. I thank God for your channel! Keep em coming and God bless โค

I have about 65 lbs to lose overall and down 10 so far. I am almost 45 and it is harder than it used to be but I am making a small dent in it so far. Hearing your story is great as most, were never really โ€œobeseโ€ and just had a little weight to lose to be healthier. Thanks for sharing.

I would love to see you create a step by step course to walk us all through the process of changing our diets. Just full on information on how our bodies process things, the WHY behind it, encouragement videos along the way, recipes for making comfort food healthy so we don’t feel like we’re missing out,
    etc.

I love this! I needed this right now the Holidays are hard this year, last year wasnโ€™t hard I was still so focused I had lost 30 pounds but I love food! Iโ€™ll get back on track though I hate even gaining 10 pounds!

  • @monicafigueroa1834 says:

I changed my whole way of eating, no sugar, no soda, no junk and walked everyday for 3 months and my cravings never went away.

  • @ginafranco3174 says:

Thank you for this reminder ! Iโ€™m struggling, Iโ€™ve been ideal weight for many years . Covid years (last 3) Iโ€™ve gained 30 pounds and Iโ€™m trying to lose 25-30 pounds and Iโ€™m trying to incorporate your meals and also fasting. But I donโ€™t have the same metabolism and itโ€™s so frustrating to not see results . I donโ€™t know how to break my fast with easy healthy meals

  • @suzannereeves7768 says:

You are not alone in your story as it is mine as well. I really feel my terrible food choices caused so much angst in my life, caused me to be hypothyroid, but finally Iโ€™m following low carb and itโ€™s working!
I love your honesty and your willingness to share your great recipes and tips with us!

  • @ChristieinFlorida says:

Great video Mayra. Sugar and carb addiction is literally the devil. Its a hard habit to break for sure. I’ve kept 70 pounds off. But once I start on the keto treats and chips, its hard to stop those too. I don’ t deny myself anything but I keep it to a minimum as most processed foods inflame my body. My weight is now good, but I want to lose 5 more pounds and it is a struggle for sure. Have a happy New Years.

  • @foxtrisha48 says:

Hi Myra!! I want to start of by saying, I love your content. You are one of my favorite Instagram pages. I was addicted to sugar and processed foods. I decided to make a lifestyle change 01/05/2021 to quit sugar and eat keto. I found out I have hyperthyroidism and My weight was 286. My 3 year anniversary of keto/no sugar is coming up. Iโ€™ve lost 135 pounds and kicked my sugar/processed food addiction. Iโ€™m so proud of myself. Thank you for sharing your story โคโคโค

  • @stewartg7673 says:

Really good video Myra. Please share any tips and tricks on how to get back on track when you fall out of ketosis. If you measured macros or weight during your personal weight loss journey or since itโ€™s been so long what would you do if you started today. Thanks so much ! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ โค

Thank you your story is inspiring. Iโ€™ve had a weight problem most of my life. Iโ€™ve listened to 60 lbs in 2016 and feeling great!!! My husband retired in 2018 and ALL my weight is back on ๐Ÿ˜ข what a struggle it is for me. I need to get motivated again!!

  • @brendadevries6087 says:

I would love to know details on your bloodwork. I lost 30 pounds and you definitely helped me on some guidelines on better gut health choices. I am getting bloodwork done early January and would love to hear what your results are. Thank you for taking the time to discuss sugar and how you took steps toward leaving sugar! โค

  • @cybellearaujo1827 says:

I do so relate to your story!! Iโ€™m 51 yo and have been overweight for over 30 years. Hit 280lbs but didnโ€™t feel it. Just like you I knew I was overweight but that didnโ€™t really bothered me. I didnโ€™t own a scale so I really didnโ€™t know I was so heavy. Until one day I went into my sonโ€™s room and he had bought a scale for himself and I decided to weigh myselfโ€ฆwhat a shock!! 280lbs!!!! I felt something click and right there and then I decided that I needed to do something or elseโ€ฆthat was August/23. Today, 12/27/23 I hit 230lbs so, 50lbs less and I know I still have that much to looseโ€ฆbut Iโ€™m not doing any crazy diets Iโ€™m just trying to reeducate myself and trying to better my relationship with food. Itโ€™s a fight! A hard one at that! But I know I can do it!!! Iโ€™m doing it!!
