Friday Favorites: Does Marijuana Cause Strokes and Heart Attacks?
The temporary quintupling of heart attack risk associated with cannabis smoking may be due to the increased heart rate, blood pressure, and carbon monoxide levels.

Smoking contributes to strokes, regardless what you smoke.
Vaping?
@@kekethetoadVaping ruins your lungs
@@Higgins8that’s vaping oils cut with vit. E. Dry herb vape does not.
It’s worth noting what he covers at 3:55 in, which compared to placebo smoking before declaring this. I’m not being snarky, I tend to agree with you, but sections of this video seemed to hint at pot being particularly bad. And I still agree with your statement if taken as advice…😊
contributes to strokes in those that were bound to have them anyway. Lots of people smoke, yet cigarette users are the only ones getting the strokes.
I also want results with diet considerations. I’m whole foods plant-based, following the Daily 12, etc. and a daily cannabis user. My labs are great. 😊
This would be the bomb diggity
How does this translate to edibles?
Smoking is bad but how about ingesting it orally – gummies, tinktures, or in any other form that does not include inhaling smoke in your lungs?
Edibles can raise liver enzymes. Dry herb vapes are just breathing in hot water vapor with cannabinoids and terpenes with a hint of clorophyll
Consuming it may affect digestion, I’ve heard it slows it down…
Great info. All the more reason to just eat it and not smoke it. Glad bud is becoming more and more socially acceptable every year.
Talk about edibles Dr Greger
I love this channel!
ok. sort of interesting but many people use marijuana without smoking it. They might even also take / consume isolated compounds from marijuana – THC.
It would have been useful for these studies to include multiple methods of consumption.
We know that people have consumed weed in a number of ways and yet all those studies only look at one method.
Are there any studies that specify the difference between the effects of natural/organic cannabis and genetically modified cannabis? Or maybe even particular strains?
Haha nice try
👉 I would be interested in research which studies the effect of methods of delivery other than smoking, as have several other posters/questioners, . Even inhaling vapor may be different. 🙃
What about confounding factors? What if you are whole-food, plant-based? And if you only have 1-3 tokes per day?
Three toks a day three times a day is what I would like to know
It would be cool to see a study where they stress people out majorly and then get half of the cohorts high and the other half on a placebo and see which helps with stress the most. Of course some may argue having a third group practice diaphragmatic breathing…
I wonder how this translates to vaping cannabis. My partner and I vape it nearly every night.
Good information. I’ve never smoked anything but there are many that won’t stop smoking knowing that this causes so many health complications.
Need to look at edibles, and just how much THC.
Watching this while smoking a joint

Vaping isn’t the same as smoking. Edibles are different too.
We’re these studies normalized for patient background healt? I.e. Exercise and diet
Cannabis (not marijuana) doesn’t cause stokes but I know a certain medical procedure that does that many many many people have taken
