Absolutely true. I lost 85 lbs. in my late 50’s doing low carb eating alone.

    • @slevinkelevra5901 says:

That is basically exactly the amount of weight I need to lose pretty badly . being 48

    • @carolfuller4849 says:

Really? I’m in my late 50s, and my metabolism is sluggish

    • @theoriginallacey says:

      @@slevinkelevra5901 Atkins 40 is what I used.

    • @theoriginallacey says:

@@carolfuller4849 I can only speak to what worked for me, but Atkins 40 is what I used. They have all sorts of free information and tools on their website. Atkins 20 or Keto probably would have worked faster, but I felt like the 40 was easier to stick to long term. It took me about 18 months to lose the 85 lbs. then I gradually increased my carb intake to maintain.

    • @onemoredoll5791 says:

      @@carolfuller4849Try carnivore or ketovore

  • @TabithaLarissa says:

Yes! When I first started keto 6 yrs ago I did 2 months of clean eating and no exercising, including no walking. I lost 26 lbs. I later gradually incorporated exercise.

  • @LuvJesusinfinity says:

I definitely have to agree I did keto years ago did not go to the gym for the first 4-5 months and lost 30 pounds. Now I do keto low carb because the love I have for fruits besides strawberries was not sustainable for keto and I love it. So when I did start to exercise I did water aerobics and that where I realized for me that was my balance, keto low carb and water aerobics ❤

  • @lizm5991 says:

Beautiful lady! You’re speaking truth!!! My daughter has never worked out lost 50 pounds. She follows a low carb diet. Now she’s walking but, fir heart health not fir weight loss. Thank you love ❤️

Back in May 2021 i was 5’8 (still am, lol) 190 pounds.
By January 2022 i got my weight down to 130 pounds without exercise.
I ate two times a day while fasting everyday for 16 hours.
Foods i ate the most were wild caught fish, brown rice, broccoli, beans, oats, nuts, peanut butter, chia seeds & olive oil.
The foods i ate twice a month as a treat were 11 ounces of blueberries with one 5.3 ounce container of Chobani plain greek yogurt, Lily’s stevia sweetened white chocolate bar or Lily’s stevia sweetened dark chocolate almonds.
Oh, and i was in an extreme caloric deficit everyday.
    I only ate 950 to 1000 calories a day.

    • @SayHelloToOblivion says:

That sounds like way too low calorie range. Especially for someone that tall. 🤔

    • @RikudoMadaraUchihaoriginal says:

@@SayHelloToOblivionNot if you want to lose fast. I’m 6’2 and I try to not go above 1300, but end up only eating around 1000 6/7 days a week

  • @PrissyHippie says:

I’ve lost 202 lbs. It was all diet. I do move more than I did, just because I’m able to be more active. When I was fat I did good to get 1k steps in a day. Now I get anywhere from 6k to 10k steps a day, depending on the day… without even trying. I wear a Galaxy smartwatch and it keeps track. If I go grocery shopping I get closer to 10k steps. If I’ve stayed home all day and just clean and do laundry it will be closer to the 6k steps. The more I lost, the more active I became. I don’t enjoy exercising at all. I’d rather control what I put in my mouth.

  • @lynnetruiz says:

Weight loss is great, but if health is the goal, exercise is a necessity for me. So many health benefits come from moving the body even if it’s only a 30 minute walk everyday. Thank you for showing me how to substitute my ingredients to make delicious dessert and sharing your recipes for daily meals! I’m also lowcarb as it is the most sustainable. God bless and please, keep the videos coming ❤

  • @kellylappin5944 says:

Exercise is absolutely necessary for health, not necessarily for weight loss.

  • @dinaarmymom9145 says:

I agree you don’t have to exercise to lose weight. However when you exercise you become healthier. You are lubricating your joints and when you build muscle you burn fat while being sedentary. Meaning while you’re sitting on the couch and not doing much those larger muscles help burn fat. I am a big promoter of eating right and exercise to get the full benefits of being healthy. In addition your building endurance when you exercise.

  • @BeckyA59 says:

I appreciate these chats you’ve been doing lately, as someone who has been through this journey you have great advice ❤

  • @susielewis7417 says:

You speak the truth. Weight loss is 90% what you EAT and 10% what you DO. It took me 58 years to figure that out. Maintaining your goal size is achieved by adding muscle mass which changes your metabolism…..especially as we age.❤❤❤❤❤❤😊

  • @deniseclarkcustomart3467 says:

I started out gaining up to 296 lbs. I have been doing keto on and off for 5-6 years. I don’t exercise on a regular basis because of time constraints.Eating very low carb and carnivore has helped me lose down to 175 now. My goal is to get to 145 lbs where I felt my best when I was in my 20s. I am 5 ft so I know it would be better for my health if I continue. Your right, it is not a diet, it has to be a lifestyle.

  • @romanticdove says:

Ive been dking low carb for 2 weeks. Its super easy for me. Ive lost 2kg so far. Averaging 1kg a week. Ive only been exercising 3 times a week. Its mainly walking. This past week was small walks as i hurt my knee and a swim. Looking at my weightloss chart i created i have 33.8kg still to lose.

  • @greentree14 says:

I’ll give my perspective on exercise, as a 63 yr old (I’m sure most people here are much younger.) I’ve always struggled with weight, always worked out intensely. As I entered menopause, I backed off on the intense cardio. I got fat around my middle, and saw my blood pressure rise alarmingly. I felt like, I know I can deal with this naturally, I am not going down the road of blood pressure and diabetes meds. I returned to intense cardio 3 X week, and started walking a couple of miles on my off days, taking maybe2 days a week not exercising. BP came down to normal!! Also, many people struggling with weight deal with anxiety/depression. Exercise helps that also. I can tell you I lost the tire around my middle, but now I am back to being “hippy” the way I’ve always been, lol. But I’ve made peace with that, and thank God I can move, my bp is normal. Exercise will also help keep other values- liver, kidney, etc normal. So just like healthy eating is a lifestyle, exercise can go a long way to helping us maintain health as we age.

I’ve lost 120 and haven’t stepped foot in the gym but now I’m in the gym daily for cardio purposes!

  • @CinW06 says:

So true. Consistency is key. I tried so many things in the past…vegan, vegetarian, WW, etc. But none of those diets were sustainable for me until I tried low carb. I never thought I would thrive on a low carb diet, but I think this is the sweet spot for me. I’ve lost weight, leaned out & I feel like this will be sustainable for me. Thank you for all your tips and recipes! I’m making one of your dishes right now as I’m typing (chicken enchilada bake).

  • @Momwithatude says:

Great informative video, Mayra, You are so right about about your way of eating needing to be “sustainable”….That is the biggest mistake I have made in the past is “radical” dieting, which starts well but never ends well, so thank you for this crucial reminder!

  • @lisanakkula4539 says:

I typically shed pounds when I’m in love or seriously driven. Been dieting most of my life, tried Women’s First, etc Keto, Carnivore, GSG, I love your approach to life; to truly living!❤❤❤
