    Unfortunately, I have to use skim milk and low fat cream cheese and yogurt due to my lack of a gallbladder 😔 consuming anything higher than 7g of fat in a single day puts me in so much pain!!

      I didn’t even know you could get low fat cream cheese. I’m sorry you have to eat low fat 🙁 but if it helps your condition that is a good thing. I freaking love bread, but I’m gluten sensitive and I get bad bloating if I indulge. So I feel your pain, at least a little.

But some constructive feedback: if you slightly speed up especially videos that contain specific (e.g. chemical) terminology, it is very hard for me as a none native speaker to get everything.       I once ate low fat cheese and it tasted fine. I would like to eat low-fat despite the research, ’cause I’m a firm believer in CICO (calories in, calories out). The problem is I wanna buy organic dairy and they don’t have low fat options in my country 🤷‍♀️

    I accidentally bought low fat creamer instead of the regular kind. It wasn’t creamy and I hated it. Still trying to get through it to use it up.

    Thank you! I’ve been arguing with my PCP for years about this. Low-fat just makes me more hungry for something more. Full fat fills me up, making me much less likely to reach for bad choices.

      @@karintraut8151 LMAO Only if you go for a sweetened, flavored variety. If you get plain yogurt, you add your own choice. As for milk, it’s been proven that the sugar absorption rate is very limited because of the fat content.

    Recently, I’ve started loving eating kefir yoghurt. It doesn’t taste as amazing as full fat yoghurt but it makes me feel like I’m doing something good for my gut health 😂

    I really appreciate this clarification! You have inspired me to take a nutrition class at my uni, but one of their biggest recommendations they were teaching was to opt for lower fat dairy products. I knew it was different from what you suggest, so thanks for telling us why! ❤

      So your classes are going to be based on what’s evidence based scientific research on what’s best for most people or what leads to the least amount of harm. Therefore, what they are teaching is true. Just because one dietitian on the Internet has her opinions, doesn’t discount decades worth of research suggesting high fat dairy items can be more harmful in other areas. Any nutrient that could be found in high fat dairy can be found elsewhere in less harmful foods.

What isn’t true is the erasure of all the evidence we have from reputable researchers over the last 50 years because the dairy counsel paid for articles to be written on their behalf. An article with a fancy title isn’t research. Now if we hear something from NIH about a randomly selected, double blind, placebo controlled cohort, then we can start thinking differently. It’s a whole other conversation on how the FTC is now requiring RD’s to link to credible research any time they make a health claim. Not just whatever they can find that looks “good enough” to fool an audience

    I used to drink low fat milk. When I switched back to whole milk my weight didn’t go up. I enjoyed it more but ate less.

    This was one of the best things I learned about healthy eating! I took the full fat dairy and never looked back. The taste is far superior.

    I wish I could have yogurt with fat, but I’m lactose intolerant so all I can have is Liberte’s lactose free Greek which is 0%. I love it though and I’m glad there’s at least an option.

    Yes! I use some fats in my diet to buffer my body’s response to carbs as a diabetic and find it super helpful particularly when I’m eating out and low carb options are harder to find.

    When we’d have an abundance of milk in the summer from our cows and lots of cream for butter and our coffee – I’ll just shake a gallon together cream and all (usually a good quart of cream to a gallon) it’s delicious

    I eat both – full fat on occasion and fat free frequently. My family has a health history that warrants me to be careful of eating full fat foods.
