It’s Time We Take on a Billion Dollar Industry…Introducing My Brand (PRODUCT REVEAL)

Hey everyone I’m Abbey Sharp welcome to Abbey’s Kitchen. In todays video, we will be talking about MY NEW BRAND!!!! It's been over 2 whole years in the making and I'm so, so excited to finally tell you all about it.

Try Something Neue at www.neuetheory.com and be the first to pre-order my new Plant-Based Probiotic Protein Powders and Neue Theory Essential Shaker! Pre-orders will be delivered in March!

As a dietitian, I have long been an advocate for a well planned supplement regimen to help take the guesswork out of eating well. But, I’ve also made it clear that the supplement world as we know it today is a bit of the Wild West. It’s oversaturated, overcomplicated and typically leaves people feeling more confused than confident that their diet needs are (or are not) being met. And because the supplement industry is not well regulated, it’s up to the consumer to discern if a product is effective, safe or even contains what it claims. Understandably, it’s hard to relinquish diet control when you’re completely left in the dark.

My goal for neue theory is to make nutrition easy, effortless, and more intuitive for you. To take one big wellness decision fully off your plate. We know your health is a huge responsibility, which is why we set out to develop products you can wholeheartedly trust. Clear transparency, evidence-based ingredients and doses that actually work.

Remember, wellness is more than just vitamins, bubble baths and HIIT. It’s giving yourself the space for your diet to be imperfect, spontaneous, and messy, while taking small actions to effortlessly help you still feel your best.

We look forward to welcoming you to the neue theory family, consider us your daily dose of self care!

    • @AbbeysKitchen says:

yes, we currently ship to US, Canada, EU, UK, Australia. Hopefully we will be expanding with your feedback (and also lowering shipping rates as we grow).

  • @pumpkinpurrs1 says:

“Exposing the TRUTH with MY BRAND” sounds so hoaky. I’m not against people starting businesses of course but this just seems like yet another online health influencer pushing something we don’t actually need, like a $65 protein powder. As long as we diet and exercise the way that suits each of our unique lifestyles, we should be good. A protein bar here and there is a nice bonus. You know, the thing you used to always say when reacting to influencers promoting their own unnecessary supplements/sponsors?

    • @pumpkinpurrs1 says:

To add: Gold Standard protein powder is $65 for 5.5 POUNDS at Costco and is FDA approved. Abbey’s is $65 for 20 oz.

    • @user-fc4xg5ym1t says:

Cue her defenders saying “but but but she’s a dietitian so her product can be trusted!!” because they’re too naive to understand that this is purely a sales pitch

    • @AbbeysKitchen says:

@npurrs1 Everything is FDA approved. That doesn’t mean its regulated or third party tested. I can’t speak to that protein specifically, just to our own, but our pricing was something we thought long and hard on early on in the formulation process. Ultimately, what I learned was that good quality supplements in clinical dosages that actually work do cost more money. We priced these as competitively as we could without compromising on high-quality ingredients. This is a true two in one, meaning you are getting the benefits of high quality probiotics (which often retail for around the same cost as this entire supplement, not including the protein) PLUS the complete protein and other functional ingredients. We also engage in extensive third party testing (which costs a lot of money). I just wasn’t willing to short change my followers by compromising on quality, efficacy or third-party testing. We believe that what we’re offering is of incredible value, but I understand if it’s currently out of reach.

    • @Lady.Fern. says:

Yes I just can’t trust a dietitian that has a product for sale unfortunately. I stopped following all of the other ones that have a product at stake.

    • @katrinb8297 says:

The title has already changed to “It’s Time We Take on a Billion Dollar Industry.. Introducing My Brand (PRODUCT REVEAL)” which sounds way more appropriate. The original title is just not great and feels hypocritical.

  • @juststeph6940 says:

I’m excited for you and I hope it does well but 65$ is way more then I can justify for a protein powder. That doesn’t mean I don’t think it’s worth it but as soon as many people are struggling to afford daily life this is way off budget for many.

    • @AbbeysKitchen says:

Thanks for your comment, and I totally hear you. Pricing was something we thought long and hard on early on in the formulation process. @@AbbeysKitchen oh I know it’s worth it, I am not doubting that at all. I trust you on nutrition. In the grand scheme of things I know your price is worth the product.

  • @kayleigh1991 says:

    $65? Sis 🥴

Disappointed it in US dollars and us Canadians have to pay shipping. I’d still try though but the code isn’t working.

  • @maxinepagnotti7014 says:

Congratulations Abbey! I’m sure you poured your heart and soul into this. I really love how you picked such great (plant based) ingredients. Wishing you all the best! 🎉

  • @freethetomatoes says:

Canadian brand based in the USA or is it technically an American company?

  • @oriongemini5663 says:

This explains why the love of built bars has disappeared.

    • @AbbeysKitchen says:

I was an ambassador for Built Bars on a one year contract and I loved every minute of working with them. I actually hope that one day we can make a protein product together because I loved the product so much!

  • @isabelaandzico says:

By all means, make your coin 🪙 but it’s pretty precious for someone who preaches eating real food to come out with a…. Drumroll please!!! Another protein powder?!?? Show of hands 🖖🏻 who was anticipating this video? 🤦🏻‍♀️ 6:28

  • @jilletdelphine says:

the lack of transparency in your third party testing results when it’s one of your major selling points is really disappointing.

    • @AbbeysKitchen says:

No lack of transparency here! We have a very lengthy FAQ on our website and you can always email us to find out more! We’re new here and just figuring out some kinks 😉

    • @jilletdelphine says:

@@AbbeysKitchen i looked through your website twice before commenting, there’s nothing informative there. linking people who ask about the testing results to your FAQ that only tells you to email support for that info is disingenuous

    • @221becky says:

@@AbbeysKitchen one of the FAQs, quite rightly, is asking where you source your ingredients from, and this is the answer in full: “At neue theory, we have carefully chosen each individual ingredient from top manufacturers around the world to contribute optimal flavor, texture and efficacy.” zero transparency, zero actual information. it’s almost a laughable answer. you’re asking a lot of our goodwill here, especially given how much of your content has been attacking brands for using these tactics, AND that you’re charging about three times as much as standard reasonable quality protein powder.

    • @AM-wg4ii says:

@@AbbeysKitchenif it’s transparent, post the results on your website. Don’t make people email for them. Post them.

    • @AbbeysKitchen says:

@@AM-wg4ii Nothing to hide here! I’m hearing this feedback and we are currently working with our testing lab, Eurofins, to get a user friendly downloadable document (because right now its just a ton of numbers and data without much context to the lay person which is probably why I’ve never seen a brand put their documents online)- but we’re on it!!

  • @1412souki says:

Love that this is a probiotic and protein combo, I wish people complaining about the price reflected more about how much good quality products in both does categories actually cost. However as a Canadian I al very shocked to see this priced only in USD.

    • @AbbeysKitchen says:

I am working on a way to get prices down for Canadians because yes, at this time, its manufactered in the US which means all of our raw materials came from the states.

  • @rubypainter says:

Half happy to see her put out a well rounded product, half disappointed yet another YouTuber is making yet another product. Is this product truly unique or just another health product put out by a YT’er?

    • @AbbeysKitchen says:

I do not like to see myself as a youtuber. I am a healthcare professional and I take my role incredibly seriously. I have done a tremendous amount of work on this . I took ZERO short cuts in the formulation process. I can assure you, this is not just another influencer product.

    • @rubypainter says:

@@AbbeysKitchen I don’t doubt the quality of the product. It seems kinda silly though to say you don’t see yourself as a Youtuber though. You can be many things, and that can be a professional and a YT, there’s nothing wrong with that.

    • @rubypainter says:

@@AbbeysKitchen I’m an actress and I also work in mental health as a QMHA, I don’t think I have to choose one, and I can’t just suddenly stop being something because I don’t like to see myself as it. As great as your product may be, and as much as I enjoy your videos, I just have seen so many people on youtube, who make videos (YT’er) release many products that are good, but is it unique?

    • @rubypainter says:

@@AbbeysKitchen So I guess that’s my question; what specifically makes it something the market needs? Will it just be followers who purchase, or something that will break into mass market because it’s needed. Perhaps unique isn’t the correct word, because I bet each differs protein powder is unique because they can’t all be the same.

  • @wdvashee419 says:

This is really interesting. Just by reading the comments, there is a mixture of those who can and cannot afford this product. At the same time, there are those who recognize the misalignment of her overall messaging and the launch of this product. It feels like she understands there is a market, and will most likely make money from the wealthy folks who watch her channel. However, it alienates so much of her audience that came to her— not because of the status that she clearly illustrates—, but the authentic advice that she stands for.

    • @sierraroselyn says:

it just shows that the advice isn’t actually authentic at all

    • @hugodamiao says:

I couldn’t say it any better

    • @221becky says:

I don’t think I’ve ever been this disappointed by a content creator product launch ever, my heart was sinking like a stone watching this. there is so much wrong with this, and the hypocrisy is glaring: no information readily available about the source of ingredients, no easily accessible information about third party testing, and the cost is outrageous. I’m in the UK and one single bag of protein (20 servings) and shipping would cost me eighty pounds (so around £4 per serve), and not even last me the whole month if I were to use it daily. and it’s a completely unnecessary product – as Abbey has told us so many times, it’s a waste of money, we may as well just eat a varied diet and get on with our lives.

    • @Sup3rSH0Oter says:

I would have no problem affording this product, but have no intention of purchasing it. Completely unnecessary waste of money.

    • @Diana-qp2rw says:

@@221beckyI don’t think she ever called protein powder unnecessary or a waste of money, especially because she herself always used protein powder.
It is not necessary, but it can be helpful to those of us who are struggling to meet our protein goals sometimes. Especially for athletes with certain restrictions due to ethical or health reasons (e.g. allergies) protein powder can be very helpful or to people trying to lose weight.
That being said, it’s not necessary to supplement with protein powder and most people can meet their needs with a balanced diet. I also agree with a lot of other things you wrote, just wanted to clarify Abbey’s stance on protein powder and offer the perspective of someone who sometimes needs protein powder to meet their needs (allergies, sensitivities, and 10-15 h of exercise each week)

  • @isabellelapointe3885 says:

Wow! This is so exciting! A great product from my favorite YouTuber! I tried to pre-order it (fellow Canadian here) and it came to 90 US $… I am willing to pay more for a good product but this is too much for my budget. I just thought I’d let you know because I am interested in your product and the ones to come! Good luck!

    • @berniemystyle says:

I found the same thing….way to costly for me but really would like to have tried as I like Abbey`s knowledge and info.

    • @AbbeysKitchen says:

  • @SkylerAdriel says:

One possibly ignorant question; if the natural flavors are derived by real vanilla and chocolate, why do you have to list them as natural flavors still? I’m curious. I have Ibs and can’t have dairy and a lot of other allergens so I am super excited for this product. 🙂

  • @emmaloucomfort6057 says:

Brought to you by the same influencer who posted ‘Are these Celeb-Owned Diet & Wellness Brands B.S?’ ‘Nutrition Truths that Wellness Influencers Don’t Want You to Know’ and ‘I Wish TicToc Influencers Would Stop Lying to You About These Superfood Supplements.’

    • @tsib6703 says:

She could authentically make a great protein powder AND call out other influencers for their shady behavior…. Both can be true.

It’s only hypocrisy if her products are just as scammy and that remains to be seen. To her credit, she’s already more transparent, inclusive, and data-informed than the scammers.

    • @user-fc4xg5ym1t says:

@@tsib6703Well she keeps saying the product is third party tested but there are no actual documents linked neither here or on the website. If she’s so transparent why can’t she publish the lab docs? All I’m getting from this video is “trust me bro” with nothing to back it up

    • @AbbeysKitchen says:

Thank you!! FYI, the probiotics we used (sporeformers) are the safest for folks with IBS/ functional gut disorders/ SIBO.

  • @MarandaisAmazing says:

In this economy sadly $65 for only 20 serving is just not within my budget. I drink one a day with my exercise routine, and it’s just too pricey to have to pay $195 (w/o shipping or tax every 2 months) just to have one shake a day. Wishing you the best, and I’m happy you could make something you’re proud of, just a little sad that its outside my budget. Many people try to be healthy, but sadly it’s out of budget for many, which leaves to us getting fillers because it all we can afford.

  • @ElleryArden says:

I’m confused — in all your other videos you’ve said that Beano and Lactaid are the only digestive enzymes that have been thoroughly studied and known to be beneficial. Why are you including other digestive enzymes in this product?

    • @AbbeysKitchen says:

Beans and lactase are the most studied enzymes yes, but so much data has emerged in the past 5 years since I made that statement. These are proteolytic enzymes to improve protein bioavailability and upon diving into the research which I link to on my site,I felt confident with their clinical results ❤ science is always emerging. Especially in the gut health world
