Lunch salat: broccoli, spinach or baby leaves. Dried tomatos for umami. Tomatos, cucumber, perhaps saccuni. Tofu and perhaps cold beans or lintils and the criminal salat cheese for flavor (Hope they invent a vegione soon?

    • @HanzSygnal says:

    • @raulgarcia8627 says:

Yeah but nowadays the diet has shifted towards the SAD diet and results are clear by Mexico rivaling the US on obesity and chronic diseases. The more you know 🫡

Chocolate Pudding – 1 cup each Black beans, dates, soy milk and 1/4 cup cocoa power. vitamix for 2 minutes, then microwave for a minute

    • @pdblouin says:

I’ve been making “breakfast hummus” (use peanut butter and maple syrup and cinnamon instead of tahini and lemon juice and garlic).

I think I’ll try your recipe but without the microwave, seems like a healthier version of what I make

    • @monamalessia says:

Do you cook the beans first? Are you using canned beans? Thanks in advance for your help ❤

  • @sammyjones6730 says:

This was actually how I started going more plant based > adding about 1/3 a can of beans to one meal every day and eating a little less meat. A few years later, I’m vegetatian and they’re a staple food for me. I cook them myself in a pressure cooker now, but i reckon i’m at 1 can’s worth per day now.

I add beans to my smoothies!

Damn, just came from Japan. Didn’t vibe with Nato but now I guess I’ll eat some up 🤧

  • @-ThatGuy- says:

I’d rather have a shorter life than eat beans. Beans are absolutely disgusting. lol

    • @MindVersusMisery says:

I wasn’t that big a fan either, but i first found some good lentil soup recipes, and then I made some indian and mexican dishes, and now I’m hooked.;)

  • @jillydilly6705 says:

Red lentil tortillas are such as easy way to get lentils into your diet. Just mix red lentils and water. 2:1 ratio of water to lentils

  • @lispendens says:

Damn do I love beans, and they do love me back. Beans are one of my staple foods believe it or not, I often go through 4-5 cups of beans a day. Love all the varieties, so filling, so energizing and tasty!

  • @bitfinesse says:

What the top amount of beans we can have per day before we have “too much protein?”

I hear no more than a cup per day. If I mostly eat beans, I feel sluggish so I balance it out with sweet potatoes.

But I’m also hearing our protein shouldn’t make up more than 15% of our diet.

What’s the best level of protein so we don’t lose kidney function annually? Pritikin said 13-15% of calories from protein and no more.

    What does the science say???

  • @smallfootprint2961 says:

Thanks for your great message about beans. So good. I love what Jeff Novick has said… to keep an open can of beans in the fridge, and scoop a couple spoonfuls on top of any meal if you want to add a little nutritional boost to your meal. It’s a good way to get those extra servings dr. Is talking about. Thanks Dr. Greger, for your words of wisdom.

I had black-eye peas cooked in a slow cooker and a large sweet potato. It was very tasty.

  • @purplemonsoon8376 says:

    Does tempeh and tofu count?

  • @limitisillusion7 says:

Beans are the one plant based thing i don’t eat apart from green beans occasionally. I’ll have to add some in slowly. It would be good for variation. I’ll have to get better at cooking rice too.
