How to Break Down Your Weight Loss Goal to Avoid Overwhelm – 3 Steps

If you would like to lose weight or improve your weight loss results but you feel some resistance to getting started, you’re not alone. Changing your food choices, becoming more active, and putting limitations on certain foods, calories, or the hours that you eat can feel like a loss of freedom or a burden that you are just not ready to take on in your already over-busy life.

You can be successful and avoid feeling overwhelmed by setting boundaries, creating structured flexibility, and then adding accelerators. I share this 3-step approach in this video.

With regard to calorie increase in the diet do you think that 2,000 calories a day has become a subliminal target? If I use a bmr calculator I get something closer to 1300 calories and if you add 500 calories for activity it is 200 calories fewer than 2000.

    • @rachelmcgill8143 says:

      I eat 2,000 calories a day – for reference, I’m 5 foot 5 inches and 115 lbs, 55 years old, postmenopausal x5 years.

Not as much as people will be when they try following this diet and fail and maybe blaming themselves for failing. When they was set up to fail.

Excellent video. But you are missing step 0 of every diet journey. Without step 0, every diet will fail. With step 0, every diet will succeed.

  • @leeboss373 says:

4:27 don’t attempt this diet, all it will do is make you crave food.

Just because you put Keto in front of a word doesn’t make it Keto.

  • @leeboss373 says:

6:10 under 35g is in ketosis, not 50g

So, this diet will not put you in ketosis.

Don’t waste your time with it.

In WW2 The Minnesota Starvation Study took place. The subjects were military age & fit men drafted and continuous objectors. Their calories were cut in half. This was to study what happens when we ration food. The war caused food shortages.

They cut the average calories of a 5’7”man weighing 147# in the study. Calories had been studied for decades so this number was used. The subjects would be sedentary and inside of a building. So no heavy labor or freezing outside.

They cut their calories by 50% ( 1/2 ) to a total of 1750 per day. They calculated this by taking the typical caloric intake of the subjects of 3500 per day. This was what Americans ate on average for a sedentary lifestyle an not a physically active lifestyle.

Women ate an average of 3200 calories each day in the calorie studies in the 1920’s & 1930’s. Women are typically shorter than men so eat less.

    • @livincincy4498 says:

They found a 50% reduction in calories caused a 40% reduction in metabolic rate. The body adapted to caloric restriction. Hormones & stimulants like coffee & cigarettes fueled the body.

Dr Becky this is my tenth year of fasting and using the low carb/keto way. I tried using a Food Diary and the moment I step off the curb I stopped using my diary but I always recall and that helped me a lot. I went up a dress size at one stage and am now down and then some. I use flexibility in my lifestyle but recall my eating habits everyday night. I still fast up to 17-20 hours everyday. At 68 I am doing good. Thank you for being the voice in my head!🩵

In my opinion don’t eat out or carry out food, cook your own food and keep it simple few eggs ,burgers, fish veggies cheeses no sugar or bread, you will reach your goal.If you can do Healthy Keto and IF plus prolonged fast well thats the best.

    • @kathrynp7595 says:

I agree, takeout food is pure garbage and eating out is very expensive and the quality has gone way down. It doesn’t take much time to make a delicious homemade dinner. I don’t eat breakfast or lunch.

    • @BainsPummy says:

I agree, I do Healthy Keto OMAD, IF and once a month prolonged fast 120-150 hours.@@kathrynp7595

How to avoid being overwhelmed would actually make sense. Overwhelm is a verb not a noun.
