I am your sister from Yemen, and by Allah I only spoke out of hunger and distress. My mother, my brothers, and I lessons and tears. We are in a situation that only God knows about. God is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs for those who brought us to this situation. By Allah Almighty, I did not write this appeal out of distress and distress. Poverty, O world, they have felt it So, I hope for you. By Allah Almighty, Lord of the Great Throne, he ate what I had in the house. By Allah, my brothers, he is my brothers by sitting in the house. Who has no food? By God, we are in a very difficult situation. We have 6 people entering the house, and my father has died, and there is no one who can depend on us and who lives in it.We live in a rented house because we cannot pay the rent we owe. ””””””””””””””””””””” ””””””””””””””””””””””””’ ””””””””””””””””””””””””’ ””””””’ My brother, my first words are: I swear to God that I will not lie to you or deceive you. I am a Yemeni girl displaced from the war. My family and I live in a rented house in Al-Shahrab 15,000 Yemenis among us, and now we owe 45,000 for 3 months. The owner of the house is one of the people who does not have mercy, by God, my brother. He comes every day, insulting us, talking about us, and moving from the house to the street because we were unable to pay him the rent. The neighbors saw us crying and came back. They came back to talk to the neighbors and we were given the weekend. So we made him swear by God. He will take us out into the street. Have mercy on him and us. Our country is due to this war and we do not find food for our day, and my brothers and I live in a difficult life. Our father died, may God have mercy on him, and we have no one in this world who was with us in these harsh circumstances. My younger brothers went out into the street and saw…The neighbors eat and stand at their door in order to give them bread even if they break it. By God, to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, they closed the door and expelled them and came back crying. They are dying of hunger. No one has mercy on them and a holiday is returned. I have made a living, and now if one of us helps us with a kilo of flour, I swear to God, I am dying of hunger. My brother, I am an alien to God. Then, I ask you to help me for the sake of God. I ask you, by God, to love goodness and to help me, even if you can, by messaging me on WhatsApp.On this number 00967717354582 and ask for the name of my card and send it and do not be late and may God reward you with all the best, my brothers Sagar, see how they are and help us and save us before they throw us out in the street, you will be lost or we will die of hunger. My family and I ask you, by God, if you are able to help us, do not be late and may God reward you well..`/-~«««~-♡~♡~♡~~•~•~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡♡♡~~~: ~:~¡~¡~¡~;I.i.i.i.i.i. i.I.|😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

Population needs to be in balance with jobs, resources, nature and the environment. Having a bigger population in any country than the country can support makes no sense. Access to food, water, shelter, energy and jobs should guide population levels. The worlds population is still expected to add another billion people to feed, clothe and produce pollution. Humans are crowding out all other species of plants and animals. Education and birth control are key to reducing poverty and hunger. Having a child that you can not provide for yourself is cruel and irresponsible. We need solutions not just sympathy. Endless population growth is not sustainable on a finite planet. Every country needs to “TRY” to be more self sufficient. When there are not enough resources to sustain a population something has to give. Countries need to focus on quality of life for their citizens and not just quantity of life for cheap labor. Why import fossil fuels when wind and solar energy can be produced locally and solar energy can power electric vehicles. We need solutions not just sympathy.

Oh ouch! Mention of the WHI that claimed that HRT was dangerous has been debunked, and it has also left a generation of women who came off of HRT or were denied it open to increased long term health conditions. Dr Gregor, you reach so many, and I hope you will be able to dig into the better understood benefits of HRT in menopause , now referred to as MHT. A good starting point for those interested would be listening to chef AJ’s interviews with Dr Rachel Rubin and Dr Kelly Casperson.

    • @kerrybyers257 says:

I’m one of those denied HRT in my early 50s….oooo could kill you!
Now at 70 with severe osteoporosis (compression fx), I feel like I was slow killed anyway.
I’ll be asking my geriatrician if I can start now. Not optimistic.

    • @kerrybyers257 says:

Oh, and my vertebral fx was excruciating and debilitating for nearly 3 yrs!! The depression was just as bad.

    • @jamiefaber6262 says:

@@kerrybyers257 I’m sorry that this happened for you. I hope you will check out Dr Kelly Casperson and then you will get down the rabbit hole of those speaking about hormones——there is chatter about there not being a hard and fast stop to the prospect of MHT beyond the 10 years after menopause; some in the know will look at this on an individual basis. Alloy health and Midi will take your health history and prescribe if they feel safe and appropriate. But if it is appropriate for you, hopefully your own practitioner will be open minded to it. You may need to go in armed with data though!

    • @nazeeniranfar2616 says:

Thank you Dr. Greger for the information. I too ,like your other viewer, would be grateful if you can talk about HRT and osteoporosis and possibly the minimum possible dose of oestrogen in form of patch or cream that would be effective 🙏🏻 I truly appreciate all your great work 🙏🏻

    • @k.h.6991 says:

@@kerrybyers257 hrt is meant for the few years right after menopause. You would not be expected to take it at 70. Your body should have transitioned to the post menopause by now.

  • @spoudaois4535 says:

Unrelated, but Dr Greger what are your thoughts onTaurine supplementation?

  • @one-step-at-a-time-curiosity says:

Calcium supplementation looks to be unsafe. We need to get it from our diet how it was intended originally.

    • @kathy.7475 says:

Agree. I stopped calcium supplements more than ten years ago when I heard it increased cardiac issues.

  • @debbieharmon4709 says:

I was prescribed Tymlos.Besides all the side effects, the cost to me would be $1,500 a month! That is more than I live on! That is a crime!

  • @hankhardisty9433 says:

I was prescribed 1000mg/day, in two doses, for Osteopenia when I was in my early 60s. By the time I was 69 my aortic valve had to be replaced due to calcification. Fortunately, I had been plant-based since age 57 and I did qualify for a TAVR replacement rather than a open heart replacement! Stay away from calcium supplements!

  • @sherri. says:

Diet will help, but you failed to mention what particular foods will benefit those who suffer with osteoporosis.

    • @jillcummings8810 says:

Start slowly on the prunes and work up …..

    Dr Greger Please help 😢
Yesterday I got my Dexa scan results I’m under the -2.5 spine and neck area so am classified osteoarthritis. I’m a 70 yr old distance runner of 46 yrs. 16 year Vegan, many of which is raw foods. Lots of beans greens and recently added tofu and soy mylk. I’ve had a 1hour 15 minute weight workout program for 6 yrs now and am 5’3” 98 lbs Same height since I was 18. Now I’m presented with the drugs you mentioned! I don’t know what to do! They want me to go back for testing every 2 yrs!
I hope you see my post ❤

    • @kristinj7173 says:

DEXA does not classify osteoarthritis (OA). Do you mean osteoporosis or osteopenia? These are different.

  • @Maggie-zr2ow says:

Regarding acid reflux and indigestion…my mother has been on PPIs for decades and hasn’t been able to stop. I started getting acid reflux and indigestion and went another route, Betaine HCL with Pepsin supplements. At first I didn’t think it would work for me because it didn’t work. But I realized I was taking too much. Most recommendations mention multiple pills. The recommendation is to see how much burn you feel in your stomach. I felt burn in my back between my shoulder blades. So I took the supplement and broke it down into smaller doses in fresh capsules I packed myself. I break one pill into maybe 4 doses, some bigger, and some smaller. I now estimate the amount of protein in a meal and how big the meal and choose the amount of supplement.

  • @Maggie-zr2ow says:

QUESTION: Dr Greger, what do you think about Xylitol for preventing or helping with Osteoporosis (studies show it increases bone volume, increases calcium absorption, and bone mineral content)? Xylitol also boosts dental health, reduces ear infections, and increases collagen. Xylitol is toxic to dogs, and can cause digestive issues but it’s said that your body can adapt to it over time.

    • @Ozworldz says:

Xylitol is bad, my system went crazy after chewing only a few gums, so bad it took me to the doctor and it took weeks to get rid of it. Stay away from it and other sugar alcohols.

    I love these podcasts!

Good info.. didn’t say how to treat it !!

  • @Luckygirlme111 says:

Plant milks are supplemented with calcium, so technically they should cause heart disease too, right? But Dr Greger keeps telling us no, don’t be afraid of plant milks. I’m starting to wonder if that’s just vegan propaganda to not avoid plant milks(?) Btw, I eat plant-based so I’m not a vegan-hater, lol. This part just doesn’t make sense to me and I don’t know if it’s safe to keep consuming plant milks because I keep hearing that calcium supplements are bad for the heart.

    • @Sophie-qt5jx says:

Not all plant milks are supplemented, at least not here in Europe. When I buy my soy milk at a whole foods store it is not supplemented with calcium or any vitamins.

    • @Luckygirlme111 says:

@@Sophie-qt5jx I know, but one of the reasons why I consume plant milk is for the calcium. I find it hard to eat adequate amounts of other vegan calcium rich foods

    • @Sophie-qt5jx says:

      @@Luckygirlme111 green leafy vegetables

    • @Luckygirlme111 says:

@@Sophie-qt5jx Yes but I don’t eat enough of them. Pre-packaged leafy greens contain bacteria so I avoid them since I once got sick of them and they wrecked my gut.

    • @shelleybelle2121 says:

      Plant milk without added Calcium.

  • @Sophie-qt5jx says:

For women estrogen replacement is the only thing that really helps!
