I don’t think she was saying it’s a replacement for a donut, I think she just meant that’s what she haves that reminds her of a donut? I’m pretty sure she’s a raw vegan so it makes sense to her
I get that. Swaps and alternatives can be a great way to start making changes. I’m all for if you want a donut, eat a donut, but there are many reasons why that may not be the healthiest. Think people with BED, or food addictions. It’s probably better for them to have lower calorie options to help them recover. It was swapping some of my biggest cravings or getting creative that helped me with my relationship with food.
I will say however, I’m not a fan of branding or promoting something as something’s it’s not. We can call a spade a spade. A cauliflower steak is not the same as a steak, it’s fried cauliflower – popcorn is not the same as potato chips/crisps, it’s popcorn – A donut peach is not a the same as a donut, it’s a sweet variety of peach.
There’s nothing wrong with things just being what they are instead of implying whether intentional or not, that foods are inherently good or bad
that’s a Saturn peach also called a donut peach. they are the best peaches in the world.. and the sweetest. it doesn’t need extra sugar stuffed in it to make it taste like a donut… or to satisfy a sweet craving.
if I want a doughnut it’s because I want the fried doughy goodness covered in sugar glaze
I haven’t tried them but your comment just convinced me to. I’m always disappointed at the taste of fresh peaches, so I usually get frozen.
@@michelleb7911 they are only in season for a short time. I suggest getting them from trader Joe’s or whole foods if you don’t live near the PA area which is where they’re normally grown (this variety at least)
have you tried white peaches before? I find them a bit furner and sweeter than yellow peaches, which tend to be the type that get canned, frozen, or served fresh in a lot of places
Oh they are so so lovely and I LOVE them. BUT just because they look like donuts doesn’t mean they work as a substitute; they itch a totally different scratch to peaches. Most of the time I’d prefer the peach but if I’m in the mood for a donut that’s a totally different craving!
So true.
It’s specifically the type of peach called a “donut peach” because they’re flatter and look like a donut.
I bought an electric donut maker, to save frying donuts. I make a cake batter to use for my donuts. At least mine look like real donuts.
I’d eat a real peach donut though. And a fig one. It sounds like a fun change from raspberry or strawberry jelly.
A peach cannot identify as a donut😂
You can only get fruit that satisfying if you have it to pick from your yard, if you live in the tropics.
As soon as I saw the caption, without even seeing Kristina’s video in the thumbnail, I immediately knew what this was 🤣🤣🤣
I’d love to see you do a reaction to one of her more recent videos — a fully raw vegan “burger” that involves making your own raw ketchup and other condiments, and a full 24-hour patty dehydration time. The “bun” is raw mushrooms. I can’t with her!!!
I’m not much of a donut or a jelly person, I do love peaches and figs though, so this does look tasty and healthy.
However I am in recovery from Anorexia Nervosa, and this type of “replacement” is a huge thing for people with eating disorders.
So please, eat what you’re craving, listen to your mind and body!
Let yourself eat! Eat intuitively so you can avoid over eating, sure, but over healthy-fying everything is just masqued orthorexia.
Do yourself a favor and avoid disordered eating, you deserve better!
Should I always give into my cravings? What if I crave donuts multiple times per day?
Will you crave multiple more donuts after you eat one? If so perhaps you’re not eating enough of other foods at meal time, with good amounts of healthy fats, protein and fiber.
If you are eating well, balanced and satiating meals, have a donut when you crave one, and crave a lot more maybe you should talk with a registered dietician to figure out what’s up.
Yes, instead of eating fruit eat doughnuts.
Well, technically peaches can be “donuts” because flat peaches are actually known as donut peaches, this specific name is included even on wikipedia. I know what you mean, but I’m not sure if the original post was trying to say those “should” be regular donuts replacements or if they were just using the fruit’s accurate name. Imo you shouldn’t have done this video because again, these peaches are literally named like that, so the creator wouldn’t be wrong to call them that in the first place. Also, they never said they should replace actual donuts, why can’t it just be a healthier snack? Like I don’t see any suggestion like that, but I don’t know this creator, so idk.
Since she’s a raw vegan though, she’s never going to eat a real donut😅 I think she’s using this as a healthy alternative to it🎉 or just a fun idea…I would think being a long time raw vegan would be hard to come up with new recipes😅but it sounds really good though ❤
I’m honestly getting so sick of Abbey crapping on people trying to add more fruits and veggies into their diets. If she wants to call a peach ring with fig a jelly donut, let her.
Maybe some people literally CAN’T eat their unhealthy cravings. As someone with chronic pancreatitis, I cannot have a lot of fat, nor added sugar in my daily diet unless if I want an inflamed pancreas for an entire week.
Let people have healthy alternatives and stop being so judgmental towards those wanting to eat better.
Shaming people for their choices is very distasteful. 🙄
Stop being scared of food. 😂😂😂😂😂
Jelly donuts suck anyway. Donut holes for the win, son!
Ikr?!! I have never understood what people see in jelly donuts. Now a cream-filled, powdered, or fresh Kristy Keene glazed? Yes please
I like to split sweets in half and save for later so I don’t have the mindset of “You have to eat all of this right now”. I get to eat the donut or whatever and later on if I’m still craving something sweet I can eat the rest. Satisfying my cravings but also being mindful with what I eat.
Also- Does anyone else prefer fruit more than cookies/donuts/ sweet stuff? I feel like fruit is more filling and satisfying (most of the time lol. I still love eating sweets every now and then).
I prefer a peach! Donuts are wayyy too sweet for me.
Soooo true
If you’re craving something just eat it. Fruit is amazing. I love peaches but if I want a donut I’ll get it.
The donut peaches with fig filling look delicious. I’d probably prefer this snack over real jelly donuts. I’ve always found those donuts to be grossly overrated lol.
