This generation is no different than 10-20 years ago when you’d stand at the supermarket in the checkout line and look at magazines with headlines featuring ‘lose 20lbs in 7 days with a lemon detox diet’, or ‘Britney spears pregnant?’ because she’s bloated like a normal woman.
People are just obsessed with getting unlimited gossip from their phones that we want to act like this is a new issue.

  • @RM-ty2qy says:

It’s normal for women to have your lower stomach have that shape to it that can stick out from a side view , but regardless even if it does look significantly bigger there is no need to comment . Periods , ovarian cysts , endometriosis etc can all cause the area to look swollen . You never know what someone is dealing with!

  • @chrislavoie3588 says:

Im only liking this video because I can’t LOVE it.
    Preach ❤🎉❤

  • @samcook_food says:

Oh, yeah, I read this in a biology book once: women have these funny things called “internal organs” that take up space in their bodies. Wild, huh? 😅

    • @ViCT0RiA6 says:

Personally not me I’m filled with rose petals

    • @adventurenana says:

      @@ViCT0RiA6 Haha!
I’m filled with sugar and spice and everything nice. 😂

    • @goldenwashpowder says:

hmmm, seems fishy, women definitely just have air in them and fat one have food in them. These organ things are just myth 🙄

this is a joke btw, every body is beautiful and i do know women have organs xxx

  • @Leo-mr1qz says:

I think this shows the vanity that our society has been subjected to for long periods of time. I mean, look at the women like the Kardasians. They look like avatars. 😮
Taylor Swift is in a relationship. Which seems to be working for her. She most likely feels comfortable with this man enough to eat around him the things she probably wouldn’t be eating on a regular basis. Plus, she’s getting older. Your body doesn’t process food in your 30’s, as a female, as it did in your teens and 20s. That’s just facts! 😳 Wait until she hits her 40s and starts going through menopause. The fan base will collapse with horror because her body composition will change. 😢

  • @kacie.k says:

Love this video! The “search bar” part flashes by so quickly I had to rewind a few times and try to pause at the right moment. Consider leaving it up on the screen longer or reading what it says! Otherwise I wouldn’t have understood the context.

  • @Nopee906 says:

That “tummy” is her uterus. Uteruses stick out.

A flat tummy is a myth.

    • @SJ-qf2tz says:

It’s not a myth there are some people with completely flat stomachs and that’s okay. It’s also okay not to have a flat stomach. The uterus thing isn’t true

    • @natalieeubank4533 says:

      It’s also genetics

    • @ROYALRAT123 says:

@@SJ-qf2tz yes and no. Not everyone can achieve a flat stomach due to genetics unless they become anorexic. Also some people’s uterus is naturally tilted outward and some inward which can in some cases change the appearance of that area especially after giving birth

    • @Terminal_Boneitis says:

The uterus is the size of a pear. It really doesn’t have that much of an impact on the outward appearance of the body. It’s also very low down in the abdomen and deeper than other organs (like the bladder). Women have belly pooches because our bodies are just shaped that way. Female hormones can cause an increase in subcutaneous fat storage and the lower belly is a common area for it to accumulate. It’s just a normal shape for a woman’s body.

    • @Diana-qp2rw says:

It’s not her uterus, it’s body fat, and that’s okay. Most women aren’t meant to have a body fat percentage that’s low enough for a flat stomach, we simply need a higher body fat percentage for our bodies to function properly.
I don’t know why so many women pretend it’s not belly fat but a woman’s uterus that does not “stick out” as a rule, as you claim. A stomach can be flat, actually most women could theoretically have a flat stomach, it would just be extremely unhealthy for most of them, so it shouldn’t be a goal. Maybe we should start normalizing that instead of claiming it’s not body fat but the uterus. Why should we lie to ourselves to feel good about not having fat in our stomach instead of accepting that it’s normal and healthy (I’m talking about a healthy body fat percentage, of course) to have some fat there?

Do I watch Bridgerton? no. Do I plan on watching Bridgerton? Also, No. Did I watch your whole rant and appreciate it immensely? Hell yea!

  • @StellaMariaGiulia says:

As a millennial the magazine and web scene of 20/10 years ago where as toxic if not worse, but 1000% agree with everything you said, Abbey!

    • @ShellTay32 says:

You are SO right. It is NOT your generation…I am a mom to a Gen Z and it is no different now than it was when I was his age. It’s just now this garbage is available 24/7. At least the younger generations can push back on social media. All I could do was yell at a magazine.

  • @zofiasudomir1165 says:

My God, I saw a reel that said something like “does anyone else wish that Taylor Swift had an ED again? No offence but that stomach is NOT it”. I almost bursted out in tears. I wouldn’t wish an ED on my worst enemy and someone literally WANTS for Taylor to be sick again, where she couldn’t perform a show without fainting and could’ve DIED?!?! Twisted, insane behavior.

  • @s-tech-123 says:

I call it an abundance pouch because it means I can afford food. And I just had a baby so now it’s my FUPA loud and proud !

  • @masen0593 says:

    FUCKING PREACH

  • @farnaddarnell3926 says:

The ideal body image is still prevalent in society. It is exhausting. Always reminds me of Jean Kilbourne’s “Killing Us Softly” research and videos. Thank you for addressing this.

  • @Maddie1116 says:

It’s particularly insane that a very slim woman like you or Taylor swift will get these comments because you look the tiniest bit less slim for a moment. Like holy crap dude I’m almost glad I’m chubby cause no one notices if I’m bloated or not😂

    • @Rachel-xg7hs says:

I know right?? I never even knew thin people worried about this type of thing until TikTok, because I’ve never been thin in my 24 years of life 🫢 What even is bloat?? Can’t tell on myself lollll.

  • @ivyandroses25 says:

As a parent, it makes me cry, honestly. If they say these awful things to/about strangers, imagine the hateful things they say to themselves.

  • @adventurenana says:

I can’t believe I’m 60 years old and still needed to hear this.
Having been thin with a varying sized belly my whole life, I never thought it would still be a thing at 60.

  • @22Isolde says:

At one point I was pregnant and it gave me a whole new perspective as a girl growing up during the ’00s on the amazing things a body can do. And the way it fluctuates during pregnancy and after pregnancy, the difficulties of dropping the belly fat, the bloating, the hormones, all those things. I could only conclude that the message I continually received in the ’00s is that I could and should control my body to a have a completely flat belly at all times. I needed to experience something primal and all natural as pregnancy and labor to understand and appreciate normal body functions.

  • @Rachel-xg7hs says:

Swiftie since 2010 here. Taylor’s always had that tiny tummy bump, even when she was bone thin during her early years. It’s just her body. It’s not some kind of flaw she needs to work on. It’s definitely not a baby lol. I’ve said this the entire time, I’d kill to look like Taylor at any stage of her career, tiny tummy bump and all. When I was younger, I did wonder what the bump was, but only because I’ve been overweight since I was little and I’ve never experienced a thin body, even now into my 20s. I’ve actually learned a lot from TikTok about how different bodies look, as in, even the thinnest girls usually have a little tummy bump. I just want to be a healthy weight, whether my stomach is ever flat or not. Y’all need to come up with real problems to worry about. Taylor is so healthy right now. She’s insanely fit, and from what we can see peering through a window, she’s eating well and taking care of herself. I have no worries for her.

  • @Sammyklynn1234 says:

I’ve always had a pooch belly and as an athletic teenager growing up in the 90s I still had a pooch belly. But because my family had a subscription to shape magazine and every single woman on the cover had a completely flat stomach I thought I was fat and fantasized about slicing it off. No one ever told me it was normal.

Things are worse now with social media. Makes me worry about the kids growing up these days.

  • @89SamanthaA says:

    Well said!

I think most people don’t realize this, but professional singers are literally taught to “breathe into your belly” – expanding the lower belly when you take a big breath as opposed to expanding the ribcage/top of your chest. This technique is supposed to help you create a more powerful sound, help you hold notes for a longer period of time, etc. You can be the thinnest person on earth, but if you ever want to be a great singer you will have to risk looking like you have a full belly at some point.

I feel so sad for anyone who see it as an imperfection. All I see is a gorgeous woman and a dedicated artist.

She sings about having guitar string scars on her hand – do those make her any less beautiful? I think they make her more perfect. They are part of her journey.
