Hi everyone, welcome to Abbey's Kitchen! We are back with another Harper’s Bazaar celebrity “What I Eat In A Day” review. This time I will be reviewing everyone’s favourite relatable YouTuber – Emma Chamberlain.

1) The information in this video is for education and entertainment purposes only, so you should always speak to a health care provider about your unique health needs.

2) This format follows a celebrity’s description of what they eat so I’ll be making a pretty broad assessment.

3) Please be kind in the comments and on Emma’s channel.

4) Trigger warning to those with disordered eating tendencies, feel free to skip this video if it’s not supportive to your recovery.

5) Don’t forget to subscribe to this channel and ring the little bell so you never miss out!

  • Anna T says:

I brush my teeth after the coffee because (1) coffee tastes weird directly after toothpaste and (2) I feel like I have ‘fresher’ teeth when then leaving the house 😁

    • Hannah Grace says:

      Same!

    • Abbey Sharp says:

      I get that too!

    • Nicole Lay says:

Right! I hate that weird hairy teeth feeling 😂

    • Lili says:

You should brush after breakfast otherwise you’ll stay with all the food in your teeth until you brush again, which probably‘s going to be before bed

    • 218SerenaH says:

@Lili for preventing cavities it’s actually important that you brush in the morning before you eat anything. You can always brush again after breakfast, but you don’t want the bacteria that’s been marinating in your mouth all night mingling with the food you eat in the morning, that’s what will cause tooth decay. Do some googling. You’ll find the science backs it.

  • Cat says:

I think the reason why Emma is so relaxed and balanced in her approach to food, is probably related to her history with disordered eating and body dysmorphia. She has mentioned it on her podcast !

  • Julia Ackerman says:

isn’t she just great 🥺 she definitely grew up around really healthy choices and her parents definitely showed her how to eat well rounded meals as a plant based eater 🖤🌱

    • Abbey Sharp says:

      For sure!

    • Christina Peebles says:

Not necessarily. Some of my friends and I grew up on the Standard American Diet and we began eating similarly to Emma once we moved out from our parents’.

    • Maxine says:

@Christina Peebles this is what I plan to do once I move out

    • Chloe Reinardy says:

      She’s not plant based

    • soilgrasswaterair says:

@Chloe Reinardy is it only called plant based if a person is 100% vegan? If I understood her video correctly she had majority of her diet plant based and eggs for breakfast. Many of her meals are vegan, but some are vegetarian and for drinks in her coffee she had a plant based option and not dairy like many vegetarians. Not trying to be rude but just curious about the word plant based since I’m Scandinavisn and trying to get a better understanding of the language.

  • cassthegodslayer says:

I had an ED and have been struggling since recovery to try to eat healthy but not restrict. These videos definitely help with my education and call out toxic habits. Love Emma’s laid back approach too!

    • Abbey Sharp says:

I’m so glad it was helpful!

    • Nina Pavlíková says:

Look i know its hard EDs are really serious… But when you want to be physicaly AND MENTALY healthy you really must eat everything (literally everything i mean your fear food not just healthy (maybe little steps will help you dear) try to challenge yourself and beat that voice in your head which talks bullshit and give you anxiety
I believe in you you got this
Remeber everything bad will once end

    • Daniela Gomez says:

I wish you the best in your recovery, stay strong you got this ❤️

    • The Moores says:

@Daniela Gomezsad thing is, once you have an eating disorder, it’s there your whole life. I’ve had one on and off for 30 years, my husband has had an eating disorder since he was 18 months old also. It’s hard at times, but you can do it and be strong in the end 🙂

  • TheDorketteReads says:

Part of why I love her video on Harper’s Bazaar is because her audience tends to be pretty young so she’s combatting a lot of the “wellness” rhetoric without really even trying.

  • Abbey Sharp says:

Folks wowwweee wow wow my mind is blown! I don’t know why I didn’t think about minty coffee or coffee breath. These are things that apparently do not bother me / I don’t notice lol but morning breath on the other hand terrifies me clearly lol 😂 I just cannot start the day/talk to people/ see people that way. Haha. Like I’m thinking about it right now and again cringing in discomfort haha so funny.
I guess I am in the minority on this on! Thanks for the lively debate as usual friends ! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

    • doriosity says:

I can’t even drink water before I brush my teeth. It feels like I’m drinking teeth cheese 🥺

    • clarinetpride55 says:

I’m team brush my teeth first. Usually there’s like 20-30min between when I brush my teeth and when I have my coffee. Plus, I make my own cold brew so the coffee isn’t as acidic. Coffee breath > morning breath, besides, why are you that close to people’s breath during a pandemic?!

    • MollyGosh says:

I dont think I know anyone who washes their face before eating breakfast and deffo cannot understand brushes your teeth before you first drink in the morning be that coffee or OJ !! I could just imagine it tasting horrid! Xxxx

    • esikazemese says:

@clarinetpride55 hahahahahhaha I am 100% with you girl 😀 I can’t even think properly before I brush my teeth.

    • clarinetpride55 says:

@esikazemese same! Besides the people talking about coffee breath are probably having hot coffee on an empty stomach. Its stomach acid that creates coffee breath and hot coffee is high in acid.

  • esikazemese says:

You are right, this was REALLY SURPRISING! I wanna eat everything she eats 😀 And felt no regret at all. And ‘comfort food’ doesn’t cringe me, I usually call everything warm/hot, creamy, spicy food comfort food 😀 Especially wintertime, you know what I mean 😀

  • Amber says:

I absolutely love dietitians like this. She’s so relaxed about eating healthy rather than obsessing over the macros. Very positive influence 🙂

  • Madison Andersen says:

    “Emma could try ground beef”
Emma 2 second ago: “I’ve been vegetarian my whole life”

  • Alia Lue says:

Love this video so much, love Emma’s whole energy and especially her relationship to food! So nice to see such a great example ❤

  • Sarah Johnson says:

Registered Dental hygienist here! I’m glad shes brushing afterwards. Coffee stain is such a pain to get rid of. Wait 20ish mins post coffee because acid from the coffee needs to dilute a bit before you brush. Same rule of thumb applies to women with morning sickness, don’t brush right away! Your scrubbing the acid around! I recommend a pH neutralizing mouth rinse as well! The acid from the coffee can also be neutralized with a fatty creamer!

  • zoë says:

emma has actually had some serious issues with food in the past. i think shes doing amazing!

    • DLC MATCHA says:

In the past?? Not really she’s still struggling

    • emilija b says:

in her videos you can see she doesn’t actually eat this amount of food like ever

    • DLC MATCHA says:

      @emilija b True

    • Kristen Evans says:

Not to be rude but with her serious aversion to a large list of foods, consistent over caffeination and dramatic weight loss recently—I don’t thing she’s doing amazing and I wish saying that wasn’t a big deal for her but I know I struggle admitting my issues and I’m not even famous. So it’s an impossible situation but I personally just want her healthy no matter what that means.

    • nik Potter says:

@emilija b I feel the same idk if she does eat that much but we also only see what she films, so maybe she’s eating this stuff regularly. Giving the benefit of the doubt.

  • Bailey Allison says:

If you add a little maple syrup to your almond milk the milk will froth much better! My dad is a latte artist and has figured this out for when I visit since I drink nut milk!

  • Fluently Fletch. says:

Hey Abbey, you’re my new favourite channel! I love your calm and considerate persona and how you are respectful of everybody’s choices whilst still offering your own advice. x

  • c!c! says:

it makes me really happy that emma promotes such balanced eating and a good relationship with food considering she’s said she’s struggled with ed’s in the past

  • Mark Brower says:

I didn’t like Mayo too much till I tried Kewpie’s Japanese mayo and started mixing stuff into it. It’s really good on sandwiches or in salads like tuna salad. Also great when you mix in some other tasty ingredients such as a fermented hot sauce

  • Molly Mullen says:

you make me feel so much better about my eating habits and i appreciate how you focus on the good ingredients in all foods rather than the bad. thank you so much!

  • Savannah Corwin-Hall says:

As someone who struggles with eating and will go from eating till I have to puke to barely eating at all your videos are so refreshing and really excite me and help me grow a healthy relationship with food I now help my parents with cooking thank you so so much for being helpful and not judgemental but being brutally honest we need more people like you 💕
