I’ve been saying this for years now to my friend who never eats breakfast because she thinks that will help her become healthier THANK YOU❤

    • @21972012145525 says:

Depends on when she’s having lunch/dinner

    • @jilliansmith8080 says:

For some people it does… There’s not one diet for everyone… I lost a 100 pounds on the ketogenic diet. And I absolutely love my life and my food and I don’t have to crave sugar and carbohydrates all the time, like I did before….. Support your friend If you really are her friend… Breakfast is your first meal of the day when you break your fast… I don’t eat( breakfast )because i’m not hungry. My first meal of the day is around lunch time… Live your life and let your friend live hers… I really doubt you’re her friend though.. What works for you doesn’t mean it’s going to work for someone else…. Live your life, let other people live theirs. And better yet, just leave that person alone because no one needs a frienmy.

    • @CherryJuli says:

@@jilliansmith8080what you’re doing is stressing out your body. Ketosis is a stress/starvation response because the body can’t store glucose for long. Apart from the fact that you’re not getting all your nutrients. Being slimmer doesn’t equate being healthier. You just created different problems for yourself.

  • @Miriela480 says:

Omg I clicked because I thought it said I always have crabs for breakfast 😂

You will never take my carbs!!! 😂😂

I always say “god better help me die if I ever become celiac” I could NEVER live without carbs 😭

  • @Sarah-with-an-H says:

It really depends on the individual. People with PCOS are better off with significantly lower amounts of carbs.

    • @Updog89 says:

Abbey doesn’t care about nuance. She cares about clicks. She takes anti-carb extremism and response with extreme black-and-white thinking of her own. Her advice is not for anyone with special needs or a desire for critical thinking. Her videos on PCOS and calorie counting were famously full of nonsense and profoundly damaging and unhelpful. So much so that she had it take them down.

    • @evh3811 says:

Everyone is, people saying you body prefers carbs is like saying that you are desperately trying to poop out poison not to die. Your body literally does whatever it can to get it out of your blood even converting it into fat for storage.

Everybody’s different…. I’ve down a hundred pounds, and keto has been such a blessing to me….. I don’t have PC o, s, but my sister does. And when she saw my results, she tried it, and she’s had great success. P c o s is insulin resistance….. That’s why low carb works….

    • @jilliansmith8080 says:

@@evh3811Not everybody’s body prefers carbs… It’s funny, everybody eats a ton of carbs. And most people in america are overweight… Take out the carbohydrates from their diet and they lose. Weight it’s insane… But like i’ve said everybody’s different… Some people do low fat or low calorie… Some people do the carnivore diet…. I’m down a hundred pounds .. And no longer have to fight carbohydrate sugar in high carb.Laden foods

  • @majadimitrijevic2365 says:

    • @jilliansmith8080 says:

It’s true for you and that’s great… But not everybody’s the same, and not all foods affect the every body in the same way… Some people can go low fat and do really well. Some people do low calorie and do really well, some people do low carb as myself and do really well… Some people do better on vegan diet, or some people even feel better on eight vegetarian diet or a carnivore diet…. Everybody is different…. Like i’ve said, before, i’ve lost a hundred pounds on keto without counting calories. and I wouldn’t change it for anything because that’s the strategy that worked for me the best… If it’s not for you, that is okay. Do what works for you!

    • @T0pMan15 says:

Don’t be foolish. Just because you tried no carbs ONCE and it failed doesn’t mean that all carbs are good.

Your body needs reconditioning and if it becomes used to particular habits and cravings like carbs, when you don’t eat it for a single day of course you will get cravings! Sorry use your brain

That person would have a fit when faced with a classical (especially sunday) german breakfast.
    I love my german brekkie.

  • @breakndawn3021 says:

My problem is I wake up at 4:30 am for work and am not hungry until I’m at work at like 7-8 am when I’m busy and can’t eat a huge breakfast 😢

    • @Kay2be2mr says:

I think it’s time to start getting your stomach used to eating at least a little something when you wake up. I’m a teacher and wake up at 5:00 am and eat just one store bought egg/ham/cheese thing that you put in the toaster and some orange juice. It’s small because just like you, my stomach isn’t ready to eat a full breakfast, but it helps to put something in my stomach. Then when I get to my work around 7:00 I eat a greek yogurt. That combination helps to hold me up until snack time(crackers with cheese and maybe fruit), and then lunch which usually includes chicken. Think of small things that are easy to eat that you can eat in the morning instead of thinking of a full breakfast. Cause I get it, our hours make things tricky.

    • @moringsdaughter says:

Pack a sandwich. There’s no rule that says you can’t have a sandwich for breakfast. If you want something sweet, make PB&J. If you need that to feel grown up, make it with raspberry jam, a nice whole grain bread, and add some toasted coconut flakes to the middle.

    • @beebenn3732 says:

I am also not hungry until a few hours into the day, I have a packaged ‘Milkshake’ which has protein and carbs which tides me over until I can eat (and also doesn’t require refrigeration)

    • @KatarinaS. says:

I’m also someone who isn’t hungry until a few hours after waking. I’ve always been that way as far back as I can remember, and I’m in my 50s now. I also had a hectic schedule for several years in which I had to get up at 4:30 am to start my day (full-time job, single mom of 3). But I’m also a snacker and eat until later in the evening than I should. I’ve noticed that when I try to finish eating earlier in the evening, I have an appetite a little earlier in the day. Still not hungry right upon waking, but a bit earlier than if I eat really late. I also like to start my day with liquids because I can stomach them better, so 2 cups of water upon rising, then black tea (I’m not a big coffee drinker), and finally a protein and fiber shake. My ideal morning is to get up, chug 2 cups of water first thing, exercise about 20-30 min, have a cup of tea with a splash of milk and no sweetener while I prep my shake, shower, then sip on my shake while I finish getting ready. That usually keeps me satiated for a few hours, til at least mid-morning (10ish). I’d suggest trying to retrain your body to stop eating earlier in the evening, preferably by 7 but at least by 8 or 9, and then start with liquids that you can sip on while you get ready, on your commute to work, or get there a little early and drink it before starting your job. You could also pack something easy and satiating like others have stated (fried egg and veg sandwich, oatmeal with nuts, seeds, and berries in a thermos to keep warm, etc) that you could have in addition to your shake, again getting to work a little earlier and eating it just before the job starts. I’d keep whatever you do make simple, nutritious (whatever that means to you and your way of eating), and portable. It takes some forethought and prepping ahead, and it doesn’t necessarily follow what some people say you’re “supposed” to do, but it’s worked very well for me.

  • @Leo-mr1qz says:

I have healthly carbs, such as mushrooms, asparagus, & bell peppers in my 3 egg omlet every morning. It feels me up for 3-4 hours!

  • @efolinsky says:

I ate an almond croissant for breakfast and it was delicious

  • @user-fx9mv7yv3s says:

If you are on a diet for neurotransmitter regulation though then most clinical dietitian say to leave them out of breakfast and they also suggest eating them at night for better sleep. Have you had any experience with dietetics for behavioral/mental health bc I would love a series on that.

  • @lq6424 says:

I’ve noticed that if I eat carbs in the morning, I get hungrier faster and eat a lot more during the day… so unfortunately, I try to avoid carbs.

  • @edmg7 says:

So I should stick to my overnight oats breakfasts? Good to know.

  • @leslieinadress says:

So… as someone who cares for a type 1 diabetic …. Most people are more insulin resistant in the morning. We still do carbs for breakfast but it takes double the insulin to cover them.

    • @ECWatts-qi9pv says:

      Can confirm 👍

    • @cecee3480 says:

Why? Why not give them eggs and meat or cottage cheese?

    • @leslieinadress says:

@@cecee3480 Because type 1 diabetics have a right to eat food just like you do. Eggs, meat and cottage cheese still take insulin anyway. They take double what they need at other times of the day for fat and protein too.

    • @KatarinaS. says:

So that’s the opposite of what she’s saying then, that we’re more insulin sensitive in the AM. Is that because a diabetic has a different response than those who are not, or are you saying that everyone’s more insulin resistant in the AM? I have heard/read before that our bodies handle carbs better earlier in the day, so we should eat fruits and grains to begin our day, and we should eat less of them as the day goes on. So is that not really the case?

    • @cecee3480 says:

@@leslieinadress Carbs make me feel like crap anyways so I barely eat them. I never even eat in the morning because I’ll just be tired again. You didn’t need to get defensive I really do not understand any of this.

  • @jessicakathryn says:

Eating carbohydrates early in the day causes me to overeat throughout the day. I actually do a lot better overall if I stay below 100 grams per day.

  • @cristinabock1310 says:

I had quinoa flakes for breakfast w dates, blueberries, nuts, seeds, nut butter. Yogurt and milk too. Soo good. Protein, carbs, fats, and fiber.

  • @gemmaragain8089 says:

Yes! A lady at the store asked if I knew how many carbs was in my cart….it was a bag of sweet potatoes! People 🤦🏻‍♀️

    • @carmen4479 says:

Sweet potatoes have a lot of carbs. Eat your carbs if you want but recognize the science. All plants contain carbohydrates
Carbohydrates are the direct result of photosynthesis.

  • @Pamelayari1358 says:

These social media platforms have ruined my metabolism, but I’m sure she is right! Your body needs carbs! Don’t follow other Rumours look at Asians, Europeans etc… they all have carbs and sweets in part of their daily diets! It’s all about how much you eat when you eat and what you eat!!! Plus daily activities!!!😊

  • @InsaneYX says:

It depends on the carbs, not all carbs are good

  • @emoonae says:

Oatmeal prepared with a protein shake and sweetened with a banana is my favorite breakfast, and that is a carbolicious meal with 59 glorious grams of carbohydrates. And that’s _before_ I add anything else to it. 😋

  • @TheGPFilmMaker says:

I eat overnight oats, baked oats or granola for breakfast every morning! I have them with hemp hearts, cocoa powder, nut butter, fruit and almond milk. And then I usually add a vegan protein shake on top just to make sure I’m getting enough protein!
