Hell ya!! Also your shirt is so cute!!
Thank you for this info!
I had figured out it’s not potatoes but how we regularly prepare potatoes that is “bad”. But i was diagnosed with celiac 2 years ago, and I’ve been eating many more potatoes than I used to. And my bloodwork shows I’m doing something right, at least.
I got really sick last year and boiled potatoes were one of the few foods I could actually eat. They have so many nutrients!
Yes I love potatoes so much! As a gluten free person potatoes and rice are my go-to’s.
You have helped me so much!! Thanks!
I’ve turned into a bag of kidney stones. I can’t eat potatoes anymore and I want to cry every day 😭😭😭
Thank you for showing by ” full fat dairy ” you mean 5%!! I’ve long heard the term but still never knew what that meant as you can buy 2%, 5%, 9% even 11%! Thank you for clarifying what it is!!
Last year I was diagnosed with extremely high cholesterol. I was told to do all the same run of the mill cut dairy cut animal fats etc etc. they wanted me to go on meds but I said I would do it through diet.
Instead I cut out bread carbs for the most part only having a small portion a day, cut out all junk food sugars, made sure I was having 2 eggs per day, added in avocados, switched to full fat milk but did cut my 18% cream, started using olive oil the majority of the time.
In 4 weeks by cholesterol levels were completely regulated and my DR was shocked- and was surprised when I told him I basically rebelled against the mainstream healthcare guidelines for cholesterol🙃
wow thats actually pretty brave of u 😅 congrats tho!
@@leaf.n1nja well I had seen multiple videos by Dr Barbara O’Neill about how it’s not the animal fats that are the problem for cholesterol it’s the carbs, and another video by another Dr that explained eggs are good cholesterol that counteracts bad cholesterol and that eating an avocado a day significantly decreased cholesterol levels. So I thought that my case was the perfect time to put the videos to the test, and well, they weren’t wrong 🤷🏼♀️
Hey, thanks for this!!! I am currently in the same situation.
@@Samimama92 I strongly suggest a good quality cod liver oil as well! I feel that also really helped me.
Is the resistant fiber in potatoes enough to make it okay for prediabetics? Just learning about what to eat now 😢 some other sites say potatoes are not good for BG.
I have never bought into the reduced fat thing, mostly because I hate the (lack of) taste. I’ve been glad to see in the last few years that I was doing it right all along without knowing lol. Now they need to eliminate those faulty guidelines once and for all and get all the reduced fat stuff out of schools.
So many lies about our food has been put upon us. I’m slowly unlearning/learning the true nature of our food and how they’ve been poisoning us through all the crap they put in our food. No wonder we have an epidemic of obesity and health problems. It makes me sick to my stomach and very angry how we’ve been manipulated.
Eat eggs and potatoes daily, I’m doing great! Gonna try the yogurt soon!!
I go get McDonald’s French fries when I’m having health issues and feel like I’m gonna pass out. Something about the salt + carbs makes me feel way better relatively quickly. Not the healthiest option but it’s necessary.
I did the same in the past and noticed the same benefit. I had issues with acid.
Carbs are quick energy. For people with POTs, a higher salt diet is necessary. Common symptoms are dizziness and fainting, an unquenchable thirst, intolerance to heat or cold, intolerance to high impact and cardio exercises. There are also odd heart palpitations and low blood pressure issues.
Not a diagnosis but there certainly are reasons a person would feel better after a high carb, high salt food.
Maybe you could see a cardiologist and have a tilt table test done? Your autonomic function might be off.😢 I’m glad you found a way to feel better!❤
What is the difference between dietary cholesterol in egg yolks vs cholesterol in red meat?
Despite being a general hater I agree with all… Also for those who like experimenting, homemade yogurt is also a great option to try since store bought yogurts aren’t fully fermented
At my local grocer, 98% of the yogurt is reduced fat. You have to buy the big tub to get full fat yogurt.
I love fatty dairy though. We often buy whole milk, greek yogurt, butter, cheese, and heavy cream.
potatoes saved europe during famine and it’s an absolute mega food that everyone should utilize and i will stand by that til the day i die. a cheap, filling, delicious food? easily accessible because it’s pretty easy to grow and have been cheap historically? sign me up
I’m not sure what “full fat” %s are in yogurt, but I’ve been loving the Fage Best Life Greek (plain). LI here, and I just have not been able to find a good , non-dairy “yogurt”. I’m happy to hear this isn’t a bad choice!
For those at risk of heart disease, eggs still contain a fair amount of saturated fat, as does full fat milk.
Here in Spain the egg/potato combination is a national favorite 😅
