Halo Top is nasty. I think I have a mostly full pint of it in the back of my freezer covered with ice crystals.

  • @Genin99 says:

I told my nutritionist about Halo Top and because she’s Russian she was unfamiliar with the English word halo. When I explained that halos are the disks above angels heads and that the commercials have demons and angels in them. My nutritionist found that really unsettling this business is associating their ice cream with angels.

    • @gamingwhilebroken2355 says:

Why? It’s not that rare. There’s things heavenly pies, seraphim inc (which does solar panels), cherub foods in the uk (which is plant based), cherub baby (which does baby related things), sweet cherub (organic food store), and so on. It’s a common motif people use.

    • @AnastGrig-x6n says:

It’s interesting since we have the same word “Гало” in Russian and religious icons with them. But image of shining rings as nimbus is more common for saints

    • @Genin99 says:

@@AnastGrig-x6n Since I didn’t know the Russian word for halo, I described the English word.

    • @Genin99 says:

@@gamingwhilebroken2355 I guess it’s worse with Halo Top, because they preach, our ice cream is good, other ice cream is evil. With the angels and demons in their commercials.

  • @makeupbyjessx13 says:

How do you feel about ice cream made with a Ninja Creami? Half Fairlife fat free milk & half unsweetened almond milk and you add your own zero calorie sweeteners to them? That’s what I’ve done and I’ve lost weight doing it with less stomach issues but is it really better for you lol

  • @randomann1311 says:

No I get the good ice cream from the ice cream shop itself lol, it taste delicious and I eat l less of it per sitting because of how rich it is lol

  • @StardustandMadness says:

Halo Top is awful. The first pint I tried was so bad, it felt like it sucked all the moisture from my mouth. I asked a friend why she ate it and she said, ‘it’s better than no ice cream at all’. Nope, she’s wrong. I’d rather eat ice cream and be careful somewhere else in my ‘diet’.

  • @aureliana2001 says:

I absolutely love halo top chocolate cake ice cream.

  • @AnnaLevesque74 says:

Can people really only eat a serving of ice cream? Difference of calories and protein in a pint of halo vs. regular ice cream is the point. People binge ice cream. Probably the number 1 food that is.

    • @guesswho3007 says:

Yes. When it’s good quality. I eat the full fat Häagen-Dazs vanilla which has real food ingredients. Since it’s so rich, I can literally only eat 1/2 cup. As small as their containers are, it’s 4 servings for me. Whereas when I have eaten ice cream with fillers, stabilizers etc. yes, easier to eat way more. My lesson learned go for high quality foods, even when it comes to desserts!

  • @LaM0NK3Y says:

In halo tops defense the macros are pretty damn good for muscle building. If you treat it less like a dessert and more like a protein bar (which honestly macro wise it is similar to) then it destroys the competition

I have a pint of ice cream every night and would not be able to stand halo top. If you had less of a daily intake and loved ice cream though I could see why halo top would be nice, I’ve used it a couple times for my cuts (and regretted it each time)

  • @brakes_2soon says:

I’m recovering from an ED and Halo Top makes me so happy because I never thought I’d be able to eat ice cream again, but I felt comfortable with Halo Top. It’s just like regular ice cream to me. I dont think most people eat the entire pint in one sitting. I usually only have 2/3 cup which is a whole bowl!

    • @yizzynightingale138 says:

I like that ice cream too but I usually eat about half of it during the day
If I eat at night then it would be a small custer cup size or smaller ,like 4 reg. spoons size to get my cravings under control or satisfied my strong cravings.😁

    • @gamingwhilebroken2355 says:

People (not all, but a significant portion) absolutely eat the whole thing in one sitting. It’s two cups of ice cream, which isn’t that much. The same carton size of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream has the same amount of calories as a large McD milkshake (and those are meant to be consumed in a single sitting).

I actually have the opposite problem most people have and I have a hard time keeping weight on. I have an autoimmune thing and have to eat high calorie foods (like ice cream, but not actually ice cream as my doctors have me on a keto diet) and in fairly large quantities. I hate it so much 😅. It is physically difficult for me to eat as much as I currently have to (not to mention the added cost to buy food and time spent cooking and eating the food). It sucks, to anyone thinking you would like this problem, no you don’t it is horrible. But anyway ya sorry for the tangent lol.

    • @brakes_2soon says:

@gamingwhilebroken2355  Two cups of ice cream does seem like a lot to me. A pint of Ben and Jerrys is usually over 1,000 calories.

    • @joegomez5463 says:

Yo, I eat Halp top, So does my wife. I actually like the taste more than normal ice cream. I ate it while moving downward towards a healthier weight, nd just….kinda kept it. I do NOT think it’s heal their per sey than normal ice cream, but that’s like saying, “Getting shot in the foot is more convenient than getting shot in the hand….at least you still have your hands!” I mean, yeah but getting shot in the foot isnt exactly good either though.

    • @vilma9142 says:

SAME!! it tastes the exact same to me (maybe even better bc i think regular ice cream is so overly sweet) so why on earth wouldn’t i choose it?😅 people really need to stop demonizing foods – even ”diet” foods!!!!!

  • @crinna says:

Breyers has a carb smart ice cream. The only omission/substitution is sugar for artificial sweetener. It’s pretty good. It’s not low fat, just low carbs. But it does wind up being 80 calories less than an equal serving of the regular ice cream. And honestly the fat is where it’s at when it comes to ice cream.

  • @MO-fi8kp says:

I LOVE halo top! Some flavors miss the mark but many are super delicious! And i eat a serving size or half the pint. The macros make me feel good too.

    • @bookisland6515 says:

what are the best flavors? i remember trying a friend’s once and thinking it tasted like straight up flour. maybe it was mint chocolate chip?

  • @Ashweee223 says:

I actually really enjoy the peanut butter halo top. 😅

  • @beth8775 says:

I’m down with full dairy, full fat. It’s the full sugar I have to watch out for as a diabetic.

    • @theshunnedBandersnatch says:

Yep. That’s why I far prefer Rebel–all the cream and fat, so it tastes much better than Halo Top. And no sugar rush!

  • @aimeewalters4861 says:

It might not be for everyone, but the fiber in Halo Top can be a real game changer for those with Short Gut Syndrome.

  • @AwkwardConverse-ation says:

Love halo top!!! But I only eat a quarter of a pint at a time. Its a great sweet treat that I dont feel bad about, unlike Ben and Jerry’s

  • @georgiam228 says:

These people saying halo top is nasty probably haven’t had the birthday cake flavor imo, don’t attack me in the comments please but i love it

  • @aaailicec says:

Halo top is not good or satisfying. I’d rather have a small portion of regular ice cream or make a good smoothie with whole fruits and protein.

  • @Amyduckie says:

The only reason I’d eat halo top is because I’m diabetic. But honestly I’ve found alternatives that aren’t low fat that I really enjoy.

  • @TheGothRedhead says:

I only pick low calorie ice cream when I know it is going to be a day I want to eat the whole pint of ice cream. Any other day, I’m going with the usual stuff.

  • @akpopfamily907 says:

after over 30 years of eating low calorie/ sugar replacements, I can no longer have anything other than real sugar. the substitutes cause horrible edema, gastric upset, migraine, mood swings ….to name a few.

I don’t eat much sugar, but when I do… it’s real or coconut. Those are the only 2 I can have.
