Friday Favorites: Tests, Fiber, and Low FODMAP for Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO)

Even if we could accurately diagnose SIBO, if there is no difference in symptoms between those testing positive and those testing negative, what’s the point? It may not be the number of bacteria growing in our small intestine, but the type, which can be corrected with diet.

Me too! Happy to hear you talk about it! So simple to heal 💕🥰 – diet, movement & sun … ☀️

  • @SpoonFinder says:

Weird that I’m realizing just now that I developed SIBO after stopping and extremely high fiber diet (used to binge healthy salads for most of my life)

I will try to get back to it and reply to this comment if it works

    Sup Gojiman!

I eat a high fiber whole food plant based diet and still bloadted as hell. A lot of gas and pain in diafram area. Im actually thinking that the pressure from the gas to the diafram is causing me extrasystoles. :S

I’ve found that boiling my potatoes, steaming my vegetable for 12 minutes, and excluding oats and wheat worked wonders for my gut pain. I still get 50 grams of fiber a day. Also eating cauliflower and mustard powder prepared as Dr Greger recommended for broccoli, because of the sulfurophane, really helps my gut.

  • @zoombinifleen9362 says:

Speaking of SIBO, it would be really cool if you talked about legit ways to improve our gut health and your thoughts on taking other healthy people’s specimens for “transplants” and if there were more sterile and reliable ways to go about that

  • @jeremy32685 says:

50 grams of fiber a day.1 apple 1 orange 4 cups of chickpeas 1 cup of black beans 4 carrots, 3 bananas, 1 plantain…… build up the resistance…… start small and build up. Or eat earlier and shut down earlier.

  • @misterx3188 says:

Maybe one should add it’s only fermentable fiber. Metamucil won’t work.

  • @anthonyroebuck970 says:

what about people already on a plant based diet and eating tons of fiber – but still have IBS symptoms! ?

    Thank you!

I’ve been eating vegan based on your videos for the recent months. I can’t eat oatmeal or wheat in any significant quantity or I get horrible bloating and pain
