What are your thoughts on smoothies/shakes regularly? Is there an issue with everything being pre-digested and its ability to move throug the system faster and thus increasing hunger earlier? Would this be a recommended smoothie for weightloss?
you definitely don’t want to be drinking 900 calories if you’re trying to lose weight. I think the right kind of smoothie can be quite filling, and you can ram it full of healthy greens and stuff so can be a great way to fill up on really healthy stuff. But you should try it for a few weeks and see if it fills you up or not or is just ‘wasting’ the calories because you’re hungry again 20 mins later
There is a link between not chewing and faster mental decline in elderly people. As far as I’m aware it’s not clear yet if it is correlation or causation. On one side there is the belive that the act of chewing is somewhat beneficial to the brain. On the other side not being able to chew comes with a risk of lacking important nutrients and that is belived to contribute to the mental decline.
I’m no expert but I think replacing a meal here and there with a shake when you are in a hurry or too tired to cook something or it is just too hot to turn on the stove is a solid option.
I wouldn’t call a smoothie “predigested food”. It’s just crushed food. When it reaches the stomach, that is where gastric juice comes into play, also pancreas enzymes and bile fluids

Old people usually have poor denture so a smoothie would be better than nothing
Much healthier drink than what I would be downing if I’m going to be allotting 900 calories for it😂😅
I follow this dietician. She shares a lot of great recipes. I really like her philosophy of adding nutritional foods to less nutritional foods. ❤

I drink a small unflavored protein shake through a straw every morning. It tastes like dirt but it gets the job done of filling my stomach until I have time for a proper chewable breakfast. Sure I could make it taste better with bananas but tbh I’d rather chew most of my food!
