Thanks, Abbey! I have gastroparesis and smoothies are my friend.😊

  • @mathilde4475 says:

i was considering buying a blender to make smoothies and this might have just convinced me πŸ₯²

  • @Leo-mr1qz says:

Hi Abbey! Is this true for nuts, as well?

  • @bellam2548 says:

Thank you Abbey! I’ve been blending instead of juicing for the past 10 years. I’ve invested in an expensive blender from a certain source a lot of us shop at (I won’t name)and it was the best $800 I have ever spent. Will never go back to juicing. I’ve been adding nuts and other seeds, carrots, celery, etc….as well to my blended smoothies. Delicious and highly nutritious❀️

  • @teresamcgrath5376 says:

Weight Watchers has always demonized blending or freeze drying fruit

    • @katburgert4352 says:

Interesting. I wonder if this is due to the idea that reducing liquid calories can be beneficial for weight loss

    • @cheesygordita says:

I think it’s just from a calorie perspective because fruits are zero points so if you make blended fruit also zero points, you could get away with blending so much fruit that you wouldn’t possibly be able to eat normally and thus it no longer can be logically treated as a β€œzero point food” because it would greatly interfere with weight loss and make the program fall through for someone.

    • @natalieeubank4533 says:

      That’s stupid

  • @shawnmarieVnutrition says:

I thought when you blend fruit, it pulverizes the fiber and makes it less effective in mitigating blood sugar spikes –kind of turns it into sugar juice? I wouldn’t have something like that first thing in the morning, regardless. It sends my hunger into orbit for the rest of the day.

  • @okgibberish6771 says:

Not worried about blood sugar with this but for your teeth maybe have them as part of a meal rather than as a snack.

  • @grizelda42 says:

I had a chocolate strawberry smoothie for breakfast. I add chocolate protein powder, unsweetened cocoa, frozen kale and frozen cauliflower rice (which completely disappears) for additional fiber and ground flaxseed for healthy fat along with strawberries and half a banana. It keeps me full for about four hours. It’s almost half my daily RDA of fiber in one tall glass.

  • @lindsaypinsy says:

Who cares about the fruit. Abbey, your HAIR looks so good! 🀩

  • @Girllovestorun says:

thanks for this! I have an ileostomy and struggle to consume much fruit and veg in its whole state because it causes pain/blockages. Blending a significant proportion of my daily fruit and veg is literally the only way my digestive system can tolerate anywhere close to enough but I always worry I’m loosing nutrients by doing so because of things I’ve heard/read about blending!

  • @NicoleTilson says:

Thank you Abbey for posting this!! I’ve heard this here and there, but didn’t want to believe! Excellent job at explaining why and showing us the research! Glucose goddess posted one recently talking about blending vegetables and how that doesn’t keep the fiber intact. Can you speak to this too?? Maybe in another post? Thanks for all you do. Really enjoy your content!

  • @damnpirate1259 says:

    Thank you!

  • @desinae says:

Did anyone else hear “red shirt dietician” instead of “registered dietician”? πŸ˜…

  • @DestinyHonor says:

I just got my braces and 4 teeth extracted. And I have blending most of fruits and veggies and it is assuring to hear this.
