Completely agree ๐Ÿ’ฏ as you said do better! โ™ฅ๏ธ

  • @shenandoah1322 says:

Very true. My mom was so controlling about food. She even once said to me, “If you keep eating like that you will be 150 lbs by the end of summer.” Little did she know that I was already struggling with eating disorder behaviours, hoarding junk food in my bedroom, eating in secret, and taking laxatives and diet pills. I was also in a binge and restrict cycle. When my parents found out about the laxatives and diet pills all hell broke loose and my mom went out of control yelling at me that she wouldn’t take me to Europe that summer if I was going to shitting every 1/2 hour.

  • @Renee-n9y says:

Disgusting, as someone put on a diet a the age of 5 and suffered eating disorders for over 20 I’m here to ๐Ÿ˜ฎhorrible!

  • @nelly2958 says:

I canโ€™t image wanting to shame your kids for wanting to eat the Oreoโ€™s YOU BOUGHT.

  • @LeahYYC says:

LOVE YOURE ATTITUDE when it come to this ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

  • @chickadee818 says:

As a victim of parental fat shaming, can confirm I never feel good about myself and let the scale tell me my worth. Iโ€™m also Asian, iykyk.

    • @ferlinecarldalupan8752 says:

Oh no. I’m Asian too, so hugs for you. โคโคโค We need it both. I’ve even been fat shamed by my mom a few days after I gave birth. She was like, the baby’s out now. You can’t be fat anymore. Diet, walk and exercise. Oh. I had a C-section. ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

  • @See-genes says:

51 and I donโ€™t know if I will ever come out from the very real and incredibly pervasive damage resulting from my parents eating control. There isnโ€™t a clothing size number, scale number display or mirror reflection that will ever make it stop from yelling in my head. I have learned to tell it to shut up and to see the image as a fortunate one because itโ€™s still here. In spite of the damage I am enough just as I am. With three teenage children, I have worked hard to avoid repeating the past with them and also enabling each of them to get a joy from food and respect for their own bodies that I was never encouraged to develop or enjoy. Thanks for sharing this! โค

  • @paulahardin6002 says:

    Completely agree!

  • @josefinbjork1086 says:

Its nuts telling your kid they cant have a sugary snack becouse its almost bedtime ore close too lunch/dinner ex is one thing but fat shaming thats crazy.
I was lucky too grow up in a gouse whit a mom who didnt restrict food i could go to the pastry and grab what i wanted she only stopt me if i was a bout to eat somthing she planed to use in somting ore stoping me from drinking soda in the middel of the week

  • @Chloe47476 says:

I was never restricted food or the amount I ate and I was always craving veggies and chicken or fruits when I was younger mostly fairly nutritional foods and drinks with the occasional sweet treat

  • @AliciaMajo says:

My mom (who got it from her mother) was always very diet-y, very “almond mom”, and when I became overweight after a bunch of trauma she STRONGLY encouraged me to diet, to a point where I swung in the opposite direction and almost died 12 years later because anorexia is the deadliest ED, and now I’m still physically and mentally recovering, obvious it wasn’t all her fault, but when I see comments like that I just think of all the pain and suffering those kids will go through, and the parents suffer too from this toxic diet culture.

  • @lptrujillo4543 says:

I’ve tried to change that when it came to my kid after still to this day hearing the negative comments from everyone in my family. I can keep chips and candy all over the house and my kid just eats when he wants. Does he always eat veggies? No but he is on the ASD so I just want him to eat.

  • @michahallett4364 says:

I became what my parent feared most. Fat and addicted to sugar. Bit ironic bc that was the thing they restricted the most, and still do๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

  • @andetag says:

My mom was very strict about food – not only about how much, but also what we ate. Growing up sheโ€™d NEVER take me to McDonalds, get chocolates, etc.. donโ€™t get me wrong – NOW I get where she came from, but back then as soon as I started getting pocket money or earning my money through chores – guess what I did. I bought all the snacks, hid them, ate them in secret and grew in size like a balloon, making my mom even more strict, my classmates bullying me and making my emotional eating even worse.

    “Parents, DO BETTER!!!” ๐Ÿ‘บ
All of us will always have to improve, even with the smallest of things.

  • @mariyamak says:

My mom gifted me a magnet with a photo of a very large woman on it to “help me” stop myself from opening the fridge… When I refused it, she was happy to use it on herself…

  • @gaurigatha says:

So so true! Thanks for speaking out this truth
