I tell my husband and my children if mommy doesn’t get her daily nap it is not going to be a good time for any of us

For some of us… there is no other choice. Maybe that’s why it’s a Gen X thing (not gen z) because we never had a choice between a bad thing or worse.

I am lucky if I get 4 hours total.
Do I know it’s bad, yes.

But when you are the primary human, your family has special and medical needs.

I would have to put my father in a home, put my son in a facility, and rehome my older pets… and I’ve been living off 2 to 4 hours a night for so many years that it would not matter if i was all alone, I’d still sleep so little.

One reason I hate my anxiety. It goes from an annoying drone to a screaming voice around bedtime. Which means the next day I become non functioning. As I type this I am reminded I should really go back to therapy.
