I always was told having a bagel with some cream cheese or some other toppings was a healthy meal. Bagels are amazing and one of my favorites but I never was deprived or made to feel guilty eating one. That must feel terrible to feel like you can’t have one.

  • @lavenderoh says:

I’m so sorry but I will never get over the way you say bagel 😅

  • @TobsterWobbles says:

You have to respect the shmear AND the bagel, both are beautiful and instruments of joy

  • @phemyda94 says:

I was told that a bagel is calorically equivalent to five slices of bread. It absolutely is not

    • @56KSC says:

Omg yes! What a terrible myth.

    • @Gurly24 says:

How do we eat and lose weight tho?

    • @simpforsupersoldiers says:

@@Gurly24 We don’t. You don’t try to loose weight. You try to be healthy and take care of your body and you might loose weight along the way. As someone with a super warped food view (aka an eating disorder lol) that is the best way to think about it. Obviously there is a difference between 1000 pound life stars and people who might be “overweight” according to society.

Tbh I just try to think of it as- okay so I’m working out to get stronger and if I loose weight, I loose weight or I am going to try to include more fruits and veggies into my diet because lately I’ve been feeling pretty lethargic, and I might loose weight. Restricting food because you want to loose weight is one of the worst things you can do imo.

    • @simpforsupersoldiers says:

Ugh!! I hate that. Literally, a whole bagel is equivalent to two slices of bread, which is a sandwich, which most people make bagels into! Diet culture sucks. I didn’t eat bagels for like 4 years because of it.

    • @Zaguzah says:

@@simpforsupersoldiers Thank you. I needed to hear this today.

  • @samcook_food says:

So glad I didn’t know to be afraid of bagels.
Now I’m more afraid of a life without cinnamon raisin bagels with cream cheese than I am of carbs.

    • @simpforsupersoldiers says:

Awww I love that way of thinking so much! I didn’t eat bagels for 4 years… worst decision ever. That first bagel that I had after that was probably the most heavenly thing I have eaten lol.

  • @jjjks5 says:

I’m from Long Island (originally)…. The bagel capital of the world. I will never not eat bagels… but fyi, Dave’s Bagels are actually really good and carb friendly 👍🏻😉

  • @StonedSammieSue says:

Omfg I’ve been working at my vet clinic too long today, I read that as beagle

  • @VGobaira says:

Only if they are fake bagels, ie. rolls with holes, ie. not from NYC or Boca Raton. Otherwise, no; a bagel is not a problem ever. If you must, just fit it into your calories, and don’t eat one every single day. Or three; I’ve done that lol.

  • @VGobaira says:

Toasted onion, bagel with cream cheese, lox, sliced red onions, and capers. Hell yeah baby.

  • @alexandrasmith7682 says:

Or, as my Grandmother who had dealt with severe anorexia, would say ….. “To be happy, everything in moderation”.

  • @callarose9432 says:

I’m afraid to eat anything. 🙃

  • @danastonerock says:

Had one this morning. Plain bagel with PB and cherry jam with sliced bananas and some cinnamon
    Heaven .

  • @bethanykeen6271 says:

Since I am pescatarian and my mom wants me to have protein, my mom makes these high protein bagels. They are soooooo delicious and in my opinion are the best tasting bagels in the world

  • @TheGPFilmMaker says:

I’m super allergic to gluten and GF commercial bagels are terrible. So I make my own! My favorite is either just a blueberry or chocolate chip straight out of the oven, or a sesame with toum and za’atar and cucumbers! Or homemade cashew cream cheese and everything bagel seasoning!

  • @tquirkyt7118 says:

I grew up in the time where bagels were yummy and we loved them with Sunday omelets…also, they were so much smaller. I now love Just Bagels Mini Bagels…perfect NYC bagels and the minis are the size of the regular ones, back in the days of your (1984🤣)

  • @AminoWellness says:

Tim Hortons everything bagel toasted with herb and garlic cream cheese is amazing. Now as a celiac adult queen street bakery cinnamon raisin bagel is the best.

  • @Kim-ri1hg says:

My Mom was silent generation she starved herself to look like Monroe and Taylor. Boomers had those diet chocolates and Slimfast, I’m Gen X we had Jane Fonda culture and trying to eat zero fat and look like Christie Brinkley and Brook Shields. I believe Gen Z has keto along with EVERYONE else 🙄. We were all burned from diet culture it’s really sad. 🙁 I love bagels 🥯!!! I feel the same way when I indulge once in a while with them. Why not ❤

    • @Nunya-jw2dn says:

The current trend is being obsessed with protein. Skinny white women who don’t lift and are convinced they need over 100g of protein per day and will spend $70 on a few scoops of ✨magical✨ protein powder from their favourite influencer.

  • @msjkramey says:

I actually like cream cheese inside of peppers. It’s just not a bagel. It’s so funny that this video came up in my feed because I just saw bagels on the counter and it made me think of the fact that I probably haven’t eaten one in years, so I might grab one, but then I thought about how bad they were and grabbed something else. I used to love bagels. I’d have one every day for lunch on 7th grade. I miss them

  • @pingu3984 says:

    BAY – GL. 😂😂😂

  • @adivanhal2130 says:

People who have been told to eat a pepper instead of a bagel and think that is the definition of abuse have a lot to be grateful for
