These two who eat like this are very active, the mom surfs and does other exercises regiments. Just remember that.
And they eat very clean and healthy. I have seen their videos and I like their diet and lifestyle. It’s not starving yourself but it is very nutrient dense and healthy food
The butter “family” in this case is actually conscious of eating very balanced. Their plates range from comfort foods to even just a whole foods plate. And they are very active. I think her point is that she doesn’t restrict or put limits on the types of foods they eat
And their diet is only possible bc they have MONEY
I just wish I could afford to eat like them even when I was a kid my mom wasn’t an almond mom or butter mom she was a hamburger helper mom her main worry was making sure we had food to eat this type of thinking would never cross her mom it’s such a privilege
I grew up in a third world country where eating produce and legumes is dirt cheap. I watched my friends eat chips and pbj sandwiches wondering HOW could they casually bring such exotic meals to school. I learned at a very young age what it means to be poor but loved. My mom would get the coolest lunch boxes for us and spend a lot of time talking about nutrition so we never felt “inadequate” among our rich friends. Of course we were kids and still longed for processed delicious junk lol but we knew it would hurt mom’s feelings to ask for luxury items like cheese and skittles lol
The unhealthiest things on the internet are people
You say you’re not pathologizing moms, but you’re pathologizing moms here and in other vids based on stereotypes. Please stick to food analysis.
At this point it just feels like no one is eating right if they aren’t Abbie.
You need to do better research of the people you analyze. I think you are mischaracterizing the concept of “butter mom”. If you had actually seen their content, you would realize how invalid your criticism is.
This!!!
But you make a big deal out of food it’s literally your whole channel 😂
ding ding ding.
Do you not see there’s a difference?
Her big deal about it is promoting balance, not disordered eating of one kind or another, and not allowing misinformation to stand.
Far too many people believe those who speak with authority but aren’t actually experts in what they’re talking about; and there’s a whole lot of harm and wasting of $ being done when it comes to food and health.
@@chipotlepep The two women in the video aren’t doing that and yes she still is obsessed with food again it’s literally her content.
I understand the tactic they are using, but when you have to emphasize that you don’t have an almond mom blatantly, I just get a feeling that something is still off.
The girl in the video is a health influencer. She doesn’t really emphasize it too, she just says it. Her and her mom eat very balanced and are quite active. I don’t really see how anything is wrong with it.
@@vatefairefoutre-28 I totally get that, for me when someone pushes something or needs everyone to know it just makes me think something is wrong, that’s just me though. Also, they are very active, for the majority of people it is too much and for some people who have struggled with over exercise they can see it as a way of compensating for what they eat and that is not healthy. I don’t know if that is the case here but they do exercise a lot. I’m not one to talk because I train a lot but for a specific purpose, however for the average person it is too much and unrealistic. Again just my opinion, no ill intention😊
@@Trista_Lukaszewski Oh, Okay sorry if I sounded rude. Most of the exercise they do is like biking, hiking, and surfing etc. so I don’t really consider that training for a specific thing, but that’s just me. And ig I see how you think it’s weird how much it’s mentioned because I went back and looked at her videos, and in nearly all of them she does refer to her her mom as that, so yea I understand your side.
@@vatefairefoutre-28 no you are all good! 😊 Thank you for being so respectful and kind to see a different point of view. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day!!
Agree with you 💯..food is food..instead have an understanding of your relationship with food
I had always been at a healthy weight. I ate whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted and exercised just two to three days a week. I had a baby and while trying to loose baby weight I started to read these weight loss books that recommended artificial sweeteners. Instead of loosing weight it send me on my way to obesity. Too bad I figured it out too late.
So I checked out their content based on all the defensive comments on here. She is definitely an “Almond Mom” that focuses and vegetables and “healthy fats” – so much mentioning of healthy fats. The body checks, bragging about 2 – 3 different work outs a day , eating a pear when hungry after a 12 mile bike ride, not really intermitent fasting but actually intermittent fasting, and minimal protein. It’s fine she’s healthy and it makes her happy I suppose but what happens if they are threatened but a chocolate cake?
Did you actually go through her content? Because from I’ve seen the mom eats way more than a pear after a workout. I’ve seen many videos made by that girl also showing what she makes for her mom before she works out, which tends to be a balanced meal. All of the content I’ve also seen has been on them focusing on healthy fats, fruit, veg, protein and carbs while having treats. Which IS healthy. She is definitely not an almond mom.
Thank you! Their content is definitely almond disguised at butter…. Maybe almond butter would be appropriate 😂
I find it so interesting that people feel so comfortable pathologising anyone who likes and priorities eating a healthy balanced diet.
But if we dare analysed the diets of people who regularly eating out, consume high amount of junk food, we’d be called fatphobic.
Yes, disordered earing existing, but putting in effort to eat fruits, vegetables and healthy fats is not a bad thing
@@pistachioonut6683 ?
@@pistachioonut6683 for me it’s the dishonesty. Also fatphobia and criticism are not the same thing. I don’t think eating fast food online should be normalized either but the hate skinny pretty people get is a tiny fraction of a fat person doing the same exact thing and you know it. I actually don’t understand why people like to watch anyone eat or care about other people’s diets period but as someone recovering from an ed it’s not cool to pretend to be doing one thing when it’s not what they are actually doing.
Even when my Mom dieted when I was a kid, she didn’t stop buying non diet stuff for me. And when I asked why she made certain swaps she’d say something like, “This bread has more fiber and more protein than the bread I used to eat. And that keeps me fuller longer. Do you want to try some?” So it wasn’t, “I’m eating this to lose weight.”
I never realized how powerful that is until just now.
Yeah I’m annoyed by both trends, thanks for this!
Well said
You are so wise thank you
My mom and I ate balanced. No big focus on food other than to make it taste good and have lots of veggies as we don’t like most fruit much unless it’s in jam form.
Considering that my coworkers are usually jealous of what meals I mention when they ask my dinners or breakfasts, and when they smell my lunch. Half of what I have is mostly veggies, or a little fruit, so I think I do okay.
OMG!!! Luv this- listen to your body! If your body wants salad one day & burgers another day sounds good!🎉 It’s all about variety… LUV you, Abbey❤❤
A burger is just a rearranged Chef’s Salad.
Not really. A burger doesn’t have enough vegetables. Maybe with a salad on the side you could say that.
@soulkiss1013 I don’t see that many vegetables in recipes for Chef’s Salad. Just tomato and cucumber. Some toss in avocado and carrots, along with lettuce, of course. It’s the various meats and an egg that usually set the Chef’s Salad apart.
When I make burgers at home, we normally have lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, avocado, and bacon.
This is more than a side salad, which is lettuce, cabbage, tomatoes, and carrots.
Yeah when I saw this woman’s first post she’s all like “my butter mom encourages me to eat calorific foods!” But also, they only ate two meals a day and they are doing intense activity (surfing and biking) for HOURS. So perhaps butter mom isn’t pushy with diet, but she could be pushy about working out, which is like the other side of the almond mom coin. To be clear I’m not saying her mom is in fact like that – we can’t know because besides telling us they work out a ton, she didn’t comment on it, which I found strange.
Amen sister! The craze about “healthy eating” is really annoying. Life’s for living and not obsessing over food. We intuitively know what our bodies need.
