You can replicate what Byran Johnson is trying to achieve by doing these things:
1. Make it a goal to add a wide variety of many fruit, veggies, legumes, whole grains, nuts and seeds to your diet
2. Don’t smoke or drink
3. Be active regularly
4. Work on eliminating stress in your life and try to get a good amount of sleep every night
You can probably add a decade to your life just by doing these four things and you don’t have to spend 2 million dollars a year
💯✅…..
Love this!! 😊
Great starting points for sure!
For sure! I know it’s just anecdotal evidence, but my Dad does all these things (eliminating stress is difficult at times, he works a lot, but he still manages to get some time to just relax most days) – and even though he’s over 50 now, he’s regularly mistaken for being in his 30s and he’s healthy.
His father on the other hand was a workaholic, was never really active, drinks for every dinner, and prefers to eat sugary food. He’s definitely not healthy at all since years and he’s just lucky that he’s almost 90.
Yeah, I know, they aren’t representative, but they always showed me that it’s not just genes that determine how we age and how healthy we are, but that healthy habits are so important. That’s both a warning and very motivating for me.
I was thinking this is just “eccentric” until you get to the part about taking 100+ pills per day. Why oh why is the man taking metformin??!
I know his fasting blood sugar is 82 and his A1C is 4.5. I don’t understand why he would take metformin
He’s also taking Accutane.
I understand that metformin *may* be linked to longevity. So perhaps this could be the reason?
Massive caveat: I learned this on social media and I have NOT read any scientific papers on this.
Omg im sooo excited for this one!! I wanted to try his recipes but they can be pricey
Enjoy!!
I really like following Bryan and have implemented lots into my life and I feel great post menopause…
❤
Bryan is a wife abuser tho…
Will nobody tell this man that he looks his age? It’s like “The Emperor’s New Clothes” or something.
There is always that one person.
He does look great for his age compared to the people I see on a daily basis that are his age and physically his body is a lot stronger athletic than they’re too
I think he looks like a good 46. I know quite a few folks that do, too. But he does look his age.
He looks both his age and younger at the same time 😂
@@tonie48i’d say he looks like he takes good care of himself, but at the same time looks his age
YES!! I’ve been searching for an Abbey video on Bryan for so long!
I have no shade for Bryan, but I don’t know how to process his movement in a mentally healthy way.
It’s because Bryan is his own experiment and doesn’t expect people to be the same, but his place isn’t to demonstrate balanced living.
Yep definitely
I’m all for eating healthy and moving my body in a way that feels good. This just seems obsessive and like a less comical version of Chris Traeger from Parks and Rec 😳
I’ve been waiting for this video, so thank you! What a don’t get about Bryan is why consume so much extra supplements when he’s able to eat everything? Why does he eat like a vegan and takes DHEA instead of eating some salmon for example?
How much of a life does he have outside of his aging backwards quest?
He works as a CEO of a tech company and spends evenings with his kid.
oh, the son whose blood he uses? funnnnn
I listened to a podcast about Sherry Shriner today. I thought she was off her rocker, but after watching this, I am starting to think she might have been onto something after all.
I think Bryan only seems super special compared to most people who are not living anywhere near as healthy a life. Attributing his health to all the pills and tests, would be more understandable if everyone else was eating a healthy diet, getting enough rest and exercise, etc… and they were still falling way behind him in their overall health. I wonder what would happen if people just had the ability to get more vegetables in their diet, sleep more and workout how they would compare to him?
Exactly! My Dad has always been exercising and eating an overall healthy diet with lots of vegetables and not much alcohol (and no supplements) and he regularly gets mistaken for being in his 30s when in reality he’s in his 50s. That’s not because he looks so much younger than he is (he’s lucky to still have full hair, though, I guess), it’s because most people don’t have these healthy habits and we’re used to seeing people who look older than they are.
Dieting and intermittent fasting is my hobby LOL but I care more about being lean and fit then living a super long life .😊
I need Abbey Sharp in my daily life following me around and dismantling any clownery I encounter with grace and aplomb ❤ that would make life slightly bearable
I like him cos he has a sense of humour about hinself and if i had the money then i would do some of this myself. Im just curious to see how he’s dojng in 10 years time.
Thanks Abby for this good video, and it’s so important that you highlight social and mental health. This is were most people nowadays are struggling with the most, and it’s affecting the younger generations even more. He seems to be overlooking the most important factors because he is so focused on nutrition etc
He’s taking Rapamycin which does have some backing for it’s longevity benefits and is used to fight some cancers, but i can’t imagine it’s very accessible to normal people who haven’t had a diagnosis or an organ transplant
yeah, i tried fasting, and started reading how it was mostly good news if you were a mouse or a rat. As humans who need to do things, Food is fantastic.
Loved your breakdown of this! I also think it’s funny that he takes melatonin, shouldn’t his sleep be optimized from the rest of his BS biohacking things and not need to rely on supplements to sleep well?? 🤔
this perfectly adds to Andrew Lowes video trying a meal Bryan Johnson recommended that he also dropped today 😂😂 the science and the experience
