I have so many questions. Like, what kind of cracker? I’m a celiac. So wheat crackers are off the table. What if it just tastes salty forever? How long are we talking here? How sweet are we talking? How many am I eating? Why is this box of crackers empty?

    • @heather6679 says:

Why is the box empty and why didn’t I buy a backup?

    • @alyssalaird says:

Idk about the first question, but to answer the second one. The amylase in our saliva turns the carbohydrates to glucose, so chew any carb long enough and it will taste sweet. We did an experiment in school where you chew some bread for 5 minutes and it will go sweet. Hope that helps!

  • @samcook_food says:

It also doesn’t take into account whether I want to eat some carbs. Sometimes I just feel like a pizza.

  • @Lgaucker123 says:

This is highly exaggerated and causing people to have eating disorders really!??!!!

  • @hula62 says:

I have ramen. I am losing weight. Also, I eat veggies.

  • @BeeBeeMacGee says:

I can’t understand her videos whenever she speeds them up. Either use less words, or make a part 2. 🙄

  • @alexandrasmith7682 says:

Laughing my head off ….. There is no research that backs this claim (and it has been tested)

  • @j96569 says:

There are so many people who still think being fat is merely being gluttonous or having no willpower. From the little we know about how the body works, it should be obvious this isn’t true.

There are so many hormones at work and all have to be perfectly balanced and your mental health perfect and you have to have no food/weight trauma for someone to just stay skinny with little effort.

    • @maxquinnfuentes says:

I stay skinny because of genetics but also I lose weight super easily because of my mental health but I used to binge eat a lot and that’s the only time where I gained weight past my normal weight so I think honestly it depends on a lot of things so we really shouldn’t judge someone that easily

  • @user-uw5ps6nr8g says:

I don’t think those idiots have any idea what they are saying don’t they

    • @Lizard_Queen-ld5uj says:

Nah, they just have a PhD specialising in neurogenetics as well as an MD. You’re right, Dr Moalem is an idiot 🙄

  • @PeepingUkulele says:

Quacker gate. Yep, I did a deep dive on this nonsense when it came out.

  • @karynstouffer3562 says:

Saltine crackers never go “sweet” for me. Are they supposed to?
I just taste salt, and it continues to be salty. The only time a saltine tastes different is when it’s more “toasted.”

    • @Leo-mr1qz says:

Or add so.ething sweet on it.

    • @karynstouffer3562 says:

@@Leo-mr1qz I don’t do that. I’m pre-diabetic, so can have very limited carbs. I’m not going to “waste” my carbs on something non-nutritious. 😉

    • @Leo-mr1qz says:

@@karynstouffer3562 I understand. I was being facetious. I know that doesn’t go over well in text.

    • @karynstouffer3562 says:

@@Leo-mr1qz LOL. I guess I was just being too literal. That’s the way my brain works most of the time.

  • @robertafetch6953 says:

Thank you! I was wondering about this!

  • @kenna9116 says:

Im confused they never ever taste sweet to me

  • @Amyjwashere says:

I find some starches can be rather sweet like rice! But how can this actually be a thing? Lol people

  • @dreamscape405 says:

The crackers are called Saltines for a reason. It’s not supposed to be sweet. 😅 Ridiculous 😅

  • @shonaghjohnson1613 says:

Not a cracker cos it disintegrates but a crust of French bread could work maybe

  • @Lizard_Queen-ld5uj says:

Abbey, the book is called “The DNA _Restart_” not The DNA Repair. If you can’t even read the title of the book how are we supposed to believe you have read and understand its contents?

  • @tiffanygustafson1060 says:

I’m so glad you addressed this! It popped up on my feed a couple weeks ago, and I thought 🙄

  • @stephaniehall-oween838 says:

Any type of chip or cracker I eat slower so I can get all the satisfaction /enjoyment out of it without having to eat so many. This would definitely not work for me.

  • @curiousobserver5332 says:

It also doesn’t take into consideration what you’re eating WITH the carb. If you’re eating a balanced meal of carb, protein & healthy fat, then it’s NOT going to spike your insulin like a bowl full of rice with no other food would.

  • @joegomez5463 says:

Based on her test, I should be allowed to eat all of them…..
