Cooca Powder for Muscle Mass #nutritionfactsorg #aging #antiaging #drgreger
Consuming one tablespoon of natural cocoa powder a day can significantly improve muscle strength, mass, and physical performance in older adults. This benefit is attributed to the flavonoids in cocoa, which are reduced in alkalized (Dutched) cocoa. Natural cocoa also enhances walking performance in people with peripheral artery disease by improving blood flow and mitochondrial activity in muscles.

What was your favorite soda?😛
If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go?👄
I like the bitter bite- in hersheys
Fun fact: that isn’t from their cocoa–Hershey’s adds butyric acid to their recipe(s).
@@irradiated_woman8016but that compound is sour (baby vomit smell), not bitter.
Did the study say anything about Cadmium?
This one is ambiguous. If it indeed does improve mitochondria then it would be great for long COVID.
I notice there is alkalized/Dutch cocoa, cocoa and cacao. Is cacao powder and non alkalized cocoa powder the same thing?
raw cacoa powder is not the same as processed dutched cocoa
@@kenShuttleworth Is it the same as non dutch cocoa? I’m confused because I see dutch cocoa and regular cocoa.
Regular (not Dutch processed) cocoa = cacao?
Yes non-Dutched is all the same, though from different regions and cocoa/cacao (the same) varieties, so naturally there will be differences in the antioxidant levels.
@@trapezius77 Ok thank you so much for clarifying. Now the hunt for all the anti oxidents and polyphenols.
As always, excellent research based content. Is there anything to be said for the increased rates of lead and cadmium in cocoa? I have read many articles stating daily intake of cocoa would result in unhealthy levels of those elements
Make those cocoa gainz
make cocoa great again ! !
This is interesting because Sandow sold cocoa as a strength supplement back in 1911
A tablespoon of cocoa powder can not be 22g, but twice less.
I stopped taking cocoa powder cuz it caused acne
The study only showed that dutched cocoa is bad for your performance, dr greger is weird
