  • @liberallioness4335 says:

The fact that this diet is not even close to being one of the most restrictive diets on social media says a…lot.

    • @AbbeysKitchen says:

there’s a lot of crazy stuff out there😬

    • @missyjordan909 says:

What is restrictive here?? No fast food? How terrible… the fact that eating healthy is associated w restriction is the problem in the western regions. Yes some people might have Ed’s and this would be restrictive. But ED or not because one thing that doesn’t care about your ED is cholesterol, inflammation markers and nutrient deficiency’s!

    • @RahabdYah says:

So sad. All restriction does is make you miserable, cause a chronically lowered metabolism, kills brain cells and libido and gives autoimmune diseases – if you’re lucky enough to survive.

  • @lili99941 says:

Liezl’s channel is great. She helped me not only to lose weight, but also inspired me to cook more. I love her blueberries baked oat (or pie- if you know, you know…) and as vegetarian, I find it easy to costume her recipes for my needs.

  • @melann7380 says:

I like Liezl, I follow her and have watched these videos. I have even made some of her recipes and they were delicious, however, her meal plan is too low calorie for my needs but I do like to incorporate some of her meal ideas

  • @marychristensen8596 says:

I was so worried to see you review Liezl’s content; I have been watching her videos for several years! I really like her ideas and have adapted some of her meals to my own preferences/tolerances. She is dairy and gluten free out of necessity, but I am not, so I don’t worry about those things so much, but I do really like her idea of simplifying one’s diet to include set portions along with a wide variety of ingredients, especially fruits and vegetables. I also like that she always offer vegan alternatives, even though I am not vegan; I feel that it’s more inclusive and I sometimes choose those options when that is what I feel like eating. As always, your advice is great and I love your science based analysis. Glad to see you not completely criticize Liezl’s approach. Your emphasis on the hunger crushing combo (TM) and her meal ideas have really helped me. Thanks for your work!!!

    • @AbbeysKitchen says:

      Thank you Mary❤

    • @Elle-bu6ou says:

Why be worried.judge for yourself and stand by that. Abby is fun but don’t forget she makes a living on criticizing others. Think twice about hanging on her opinion. Your opinion is just as good 👍

    • @achocot says:

@@Elle-bu6ou “Your opinion is just as good” only if that person has similar knowledge and the time to look into the latest publication on nutrition related subjects. It’s always informative to listen to a professional. What one chooses to do with that info is up to them.

  • @isabelaandzico says:

Brazilian Girl here again 🙋🏻‍♀️: for the BEST rice 🍚 of your life: soak for an hour and a half with a little vinegar, strain for 20 minutes, olive oil onions garlic (our unofficial holy trinity!) in a pot for a couple of minutes, add rice and hot water to barely cover it, reduce to low with pan half covered. DO NOT TOUCH IT!!! Just monitor it (around 30 minutes or until you get a spoon and can see bottom of pot), close the lid and turn off stove to let it steam for 5 minutes. Done ✅🇧🇷 9:11
It may sound like a whole production but we make it several several servings.

    • @AbbeysKitchen says:

      Oooh need to try this!!

    • @MadisonTaylorSeungri says:

      i love my rice cooker

    • @isabelaandzico says:

Abbey, you’re going to love it! And I’m the beans 🫘 eating Portuguese and Brazilian professional ballerina 🩰. I’ll always eat my beans and my cheese… except that I save my beans for my post performance treat! Gas and tutus don’t go together. Who says ballerinas don’t eat?

  • @kristencobb230 says:

I really like her channel and have enjoyed some of her recipes! Overall, I think she does a great job 👏

  • @outofmyelement932 says:

I have literally NEVER heard of rice making people sick. Ever. I’ll need to look into that one…

    • @BotDetector-44 says:

There’s no such thing, stop believing everything you hear on internet especially from an influencer

    • @ecologist_to_be says:

Stop spreading lies! Reheated rice can cause food poisoning.

    • @user-fc4xg5ym1t says:

I’ve never heard of that either, I often prepare rice in the morning and it stays on the stovetop all day before having it for dinner and I’ve never gotten sick from that. Never rinsed my rice either before cooking either. Just more scare tactics for no reason

    • @jonap5740 says:

@@user-fc4xg5ym1t Nope. It really does start to grow adverse bacteria. The fact that it has not yet made you sick is great…but you might want to consider sticking it in the refrigerator a bit earlier…’cause it’s SCIENCE!!

    • @jonap5740 says:

@@BotDetector-44 Um…except that she is not an influencer—or not JUST an influencer—this is an educated, registered dietician who went to university to earn her degree.

  • @audreybringgold6217 says:

Just here to say Abbey’s skin is glowing 🌟 🌟 🌟

  • @brittanymcmcmc9730 says:

I know it’s not listed in her video, but if you want higher amounts of calories for the meals (IE more protein, more fibers) she has different calorie amounts for the same meals on her website. 🙂

  • @ecstaticbutter9164 says:

As a RD myself, whenever someone mentions a meal plan, I internally flinch like someone said Voldemort’s name 😂. Loved how you explained the unsustainability of static meal plans.

  • @mfb5242 says:

Liezl has many different food plans with lots of variety! Love her channel!

Watching this I feel like my full-fat Greek yogurt and chia seeds breakfast is killing it! Honestly that’s the thing that kick started my weight loss, which in turn kick started my fitness journey. I don’t get hungry at all until lunchtime, so I don’t snack.

I lost 42 pounds on 1300 calories a day eating healthy foods and once i hit my goal I slowly added a hundred calories a week until my weight leveled out. My daily maintenance is 1800 calories per day. I’ve maintained my goal weight for 10 years! Yes some days I’m a bit over and some a bit under and it works for my body.

    • @howsweetthesound4992 says:

That’s awesome for you! It’d be helpful if you said your activity level, height age and weight and how long it took you . I am 5’8, 43yrs, walk everyday and lift weights a couple times a week. I’ve lost weight at 2,200+ calories a day, and my maintenance is around 2,400 a day. 1,300 would be crazy low for me. Depends on muscle mass, fiber/protein/, activity, and your stats. Goes to show so many people are different and why for someone who doesn’t have the knowledge base to not follow some random calorie restriction.

    • @pambrown5401 says:

@@howsweetthesound4992she gives you a hint when she tells you maintenance calories are 1800.

Hey Abbey! I LOVE your videos! I wanted to request an ED recovery video on behalf of those of us struggling with poverty or food insecurity: what are some tips and tricks on navigating food insecurity in eating disorder recovery? Some of us have a lot of safe foods that are really expensive, so how can we turn food stamp/lower quality foods into meals that are as balanced as possible?

  • @lhs1221 says:

I really like her channel and for the many years I’ve watched, it’s always visually beautiful and the recipes are not fussy…very easy and practical. Thank you for your professional insight @Abbey!

  • @supervixen456 says:

I love that she shows herself making a meal and sharing it for the next days, it is something I do all the time and it was vital to my weight loss <3
