I had severe DV for several years in my twenties and almost died from antibiotic-induced C-Diff. I finally learned to manage the condition with a WFPB diet, but more than a decade later I do not believe the unproven “high colonic pressure” theory holds up. IMO, DV is an inflammatory disease similar to IBD that results from processed food additives disrupting and destroying the protective biofilms lining the colon. For me, eating foods that contain gums, thickeners, and preservatives which are known to be harmful to gut bacteria will still quickly induce a flare, which is unfortunate because these ingredients are now everywhere.

I’m glad you made this comment, I can recall when I was homeless and faced with many things in life until $75,000 biweekly began rolling in and my Life went from A homeless nobody to a different person with good things to offer!!!!

    • @EdwardRyan1 says:

      I’m feeling truly inspired.
Can you provide additional insights about the bi-weekly subject you mentioned?

Here in England, wholemeal bread, high-fibre diets and vegetarianism became fashionable in the 1960s…when hippies returned West from their (supposedly!) enlightening travels…and their newly acquired Eastern tastes. Some top business minds jumped on the trend…like Cranks restaurant in Soho…and sowed the seeds of a nationwide movement. And yet…despite so many adherents to this kind of diet…those chronic diseases haven’t escaped them. Far from it.

It appears that there’s always someone ready wand willing to deny the hard cold facts of good scientific studies. QED

Please make a video on how did Dr. Baxter pass away with a healthy diet and lifestyle

    • @seangomez2331 says:

      Perhaps congenital defect?

    • @AmroNaddy says:

N of 1… individuals pass away for many varied reasons. At a broader population scale, healthy diet and lifestyle choices meaningfully prolong and improve life

    • @Titunka says:

I would like to know too and if someone would adress thiS. He died so young eating whole food plant based diet.. it is very shocking..

    • @AW-po7jr says:

No guarantees even with the most healthy diet. It can increase your chances of a long and healthy life, though.

Hello Dr. Greger! Thank you again for another great video! My mom has diverticulitis and avoids seeds, strawberries, kiwi, anything with small seeds in it. Her doctor has told her that he always sees those types of seeds inside the little “pockets” during colonoscopies. Dr. Greger is there a possibility that your channel can provide audio track options in other languages? My mom lives in Brazil and I’d love for her and other family members living there to have access to your content but they don’t speak English ☺️. Thank you so much 🙏 💚🌱

  • @suburbohemian says:

Yeah, my bestie got diverticulitis and it nearly killed her. She had to have a colon bag for a time. She’s half-Sicilian and ate a lot of processed pastas. She got told after that no more nuts, seeds, popcorn, which I assume is still true for those who end up with the -itis?

If that image of the stress ball doesn’t cause one to make a change, nothing will.

  • @jennamakesbugs says:

For some reason people think if they eat something that makes them go poo they shouldn’t eat it anymore. If there is any change in their bowel movement, they’ve eaten the wrong thing. Maybe you needed a change.

  • @Mirage9982 says:

I eat tons of fiber, but sometimes I still strain to have a bowel movement!

  • @KenjiEspresso says:

No just heal your leaky gut. Then eat all the nuts etc. you want. How? Walk more and eat natural foods for 6 months.

  • @richardlynch1094 says:

I developed diverticulitis from massive doctor prescribed opiates, which attached to my bladder with horrendous consequences. Sigmoid colon removed. Now on a wfpb diet with lots of nuts and seed and zero symptoms of diverticular disease.

  • @nazokashii says:

    thank you so much <3
