With autumnal veggies coming in so strong those Kirkland Signature rolled oats are looking great with the apples and pumpkins.

  • @gigglingchicken8444 says:

Chia seeds have a very interesting history in ancient Mesoamerica. They were considered a super food that gave strength, endurance, and stamina. They used it in drinks, called Iskiate, baking, and other foods. They believed that one tablespoon of chia seeds a day would give them the power to complete a hard days work, and travelers kept them on hand to reenergize their weary muscles.
Chia seeds may not get your waist snatched, but they do have many benefits and have a vibrant history in some of the most interesting civilizations in the world.

  • @JL-ow5hp says:

I just like the way it makes my yogurt a bit more textured 🤷🏾‍♀️

  • @cvankeu says:

Don’t you need to grind them to make use of the fats and fiber?

    • @natalieeubank4533 says:

Nope! Just throw them in with liquid and over night oats

    • @Nat-nc5mi says:

Soaking chia seeds makes them easier to digest and helps your body absorb their nutrients more effectively. The gel-like texture can help you feel fuller for longer, which can aid in appetite control and weight management.

    • @jonap5740 says:

Maybe you are thinking of flax seeds? If you grind flax you can absorb them. If you don’t they just pass through you.

  • @bellagab3 says:

What makes you get a snatched waist? Diet and exercise. It’s never been complicated

    • @abbymyers5072 says:

Girly don’t forget genetics; bodies store fat differently and some some bodies are straight up and down due to tissue distribution

    • @catt698 says:

Sleep and low cortisol levels. If you don’t sleep enough or have constant high cortisol none of it will work

    • @kirbybeam503 says:

Genetics, disability, biological sex, class, accessibility, age and more all have impacts on people’s abilities to change their diets and exercise. Just because it’s that simple for you doesn’t mean other people have that privilege too.

    • @bellagab3 says:

@kirbybeam503  If diet and exercise doesn’t work, chia seeds sure as well won’t get you snatched was my point

    • @bellagab3 says:

@@abbymyers5072 In that case chia seeds won’t change your body shape either

  • @irmaktemel7171 says:

Why do people expect these magical effects from foods? I don’t need to have it snatch me for me to enjoy it. I personally go for chia seeds because I can’t swallow oats and it is a relatively healthy and convenient alternative to cereal

  • @emmareckzin says:

Me watching her drink chia water 🤢 – chia seeds are great in more solid things, but I do not like to chew my beverages😂

  • @Secretagent71114 says:

I like adding them to my tea simply because I like the taste and texture. Especially good in rooibos tea. The protein and fiber in them is a plus.

  • @jklp8257 says:

Chia seeds is EXTREMELY high in Oxalates, so if you’re kidney stone prone or have issues with your gallbladder, use them sparingly. Abbey wish you would do an episode on high oxalate foods there is several books out there now on the dangers of oxalates.

  • @Llaalllaal says:

The only effect chia seeds in my water has on me is that the gel makes me sick and full to my throat.
