For all its downsides (I’m looking at you winter), there is a lot to be proud of as a Canadian (#ad)

From our invention of life saving medications, to
yummy foods, to world-wide icons, to essential crops,
Canada has an impressive CV.
I've talked about the nutritional benefits of Canola Oil
(and debunked the unfounded slander) a dozen times
on these apps, pointing out that canola not only is not
inflammatory, but it actually has one of the most
impressive Omega 3: Omega 6 ratios of all cooking
oils. But it's so much more than a neutral oil for
sauteing, baking or drizzling.
Canola really is one of Canada's greatest success
stories. When the new crop was developed in the
1970s, a special nod was given to its Canadian origins:
"Can" as in Canada and "ola" as in oil. It is one of the
most widely grown crops in Canada and has been
developed through the years for a wide range of
applications, including in cosmetics, pet food,
manufacturing, sustainable biofuels and more.
One of my new year's resolutions this year is to
support more Canadian farmers, and using canola in
my day to day life is a great way to do just that.
What are some of your favorite Canada-made
products, foods, things and people? #hellocanola
