Pro-tip: Frozen mushrooms on pizza taste better because they are way juicier than when being “drybaked”. I like to freeze sliced mushrooms and just throw them on the pizza before baking. Yum.
Raw mushrooms make me itchy
I love mushrooms and recently have been freezing them . I never knew about raw mushrooms. Thanks
What about pressure cooking, that’s my favorite way to cook?
Did you watch the end. It does not matter there is no risk.

I’ve been eating raw mushrooms several times a week for 50 years. I died a decade ago.
I know right? Not everyday but I liked them raw with dips and in salads. Not anymore. I did have cancer. Who knows why. Could it have been from the mushrooms? I Follow dr Gregor’s advice! Based on facts
I’ll be sure to cook my mushrooms. 1 minute in the microwave at least. And what about those shiitakes!?!?! What a wild rash!!!
So they don’t prevent cancer either?
Wouldn’t the anti angiogenic effect of mushrooms more than cancel the possible effect of one component in the mushroom?
So from the mushroom paper: In conclusion, we found no association between mushroom consumption and total and site-specific cancers in US women and men. Dr. Fuhrman has been telling people for years that one mushroom per day cuts breast cancer risk significantly. Which is true?
Thank you!
Moreover, this study you mention did not factor in cultivation and cooking practices, so how can it be used to explain the impact of cooking time of the carcinogenic properties of mushrooms?
the question went much further about if even cooked mushrooms are safe. Thanks for the answer at the end!
Steamimg?
I really cannot imagine that eating raw wild mushrooms (not the industrial ones) can be healthy and easily digestible.
So very fascinating! Thank you so much <3
Add mushrooms to your banana smoothie!
