Hey everyone! Today, we’re reviewing the What I Eat in a Day (WIEIAD) from Glucose Goddess, aka Jessie Inchauspé, the content creator behind the blood sugar balance trend. 🚨 Jessie has built a massive following by promoting ways to manage glucose spikes, stabilize insulin levels, and prevent energy crashes, but are her recommendations really backed by science-based nutrition? In this video, I’ll break down her meal choices, discuss the potential risks of micromanaging blood sugar, food fears, and restrictive dieting. Let’s separate fact from fiction!

Glucose….
@@natalieeubank4533😂
It is probably u popping into watching her videos cuz she readily has normal followers who would not get brainwashed by the hype alike
@@natalieeubank4533 I’m mocking the way she pronounces the word.
I just can’t… the amount of time, mental capacity, effort, energy and money it takes to be like this with your diet and lifestyle just screams privilege and all it does is makes you feel worse about yourself 💯
I know…people forget that mental health is just as important as physical health
It`s not the bread or wheat it ‘s how much you intake daily.
As someone with hypoglycemia she’s been a lifesaver. Remember, everyone is different. Not everyone can just eat whatever and be fine.
@Suriel44 That is very true I’m pre diabetic I have to be mindful….all I’m saying is there is a difference btwn being intentional and obsessive
I find so much of her advice to be reductive and unsustainable, so I am loving the commentary here, where you contextualize the good and challenge the bad. 👍🏼
♥♥
Covering her claims and being sponsored by literal bread was a highkey power move and I’m living for it
😘
Who else is loving the pony tail
Why thank you!!
I know we’re supposed to be kind, but I find Glucose Goddesses’ rhetoric unsettling
I’m so glad I found your channel. This additive approach has worked so much better for my lifestyle than labeling foods I enjoy as “bad” and cutting them out completely. That’s just not sustainable for me, or most people I dare say. Life is too short – I’m going to enjoy my carbs without any guilt.
100%! Its so hard to shake off that food guilt but once you do… 🎉🎉🎉
It’s amazing how I feel way less guilt with the additive approach. If I add some protein and fiber with my sweet treat, I’m fully satisfied and don’t need to over eat! Thanks Abby!
Worrying about normal temporary rises in blood sugar in healthy individuals is similar to being concerned about forms of exercise that cause temporary rises in heart rate!😀
Hahah nailed it 👏🏻👏🏻
I am curious about her claims that ANY glucose spike is bad. The exageration is what got me off her page completely.
Balanced, realistic commentary from a fellow RD, good job
Love your hair! Great video I watched this glucose goddess video a few weeks ago and thought about what you would say and it helped me sift through the BS. Also loving your podcast so happy you’re spreading your knowledge out further.
For reference, I had followed strict macro counting & other meal plans outlined by a fitness brand I followed for 15 years or so. I found your channel refreshing & took the leap to use the guidance I learned from you. While I found empowerment through this lifestyle change, I unfortunately gained 20 pounds. I went to my primary care for workup thinking there was something medical. Per chance, Glucose Goddess appeared in my feed. I applied the things I learned & the weight started to come off, I felt satiated, had less sugar cravings, less migraines, & more energy – despite continuing the same diet. I continue to use what I’ve learned from the both of you that I feel are complementary. What I do know, is carbs are not demonized. Carbs are not restricted. But, higher fiber/protein or fermented (sourdough) are suggested. I remember watching this video before & thinking, “Abbey isn’t going to like that.” But the premise, is still to eat what you want, but her example for herself was focused on the science of choosing savory (or sometimes fat/protein) items to be more satiating. Anti-spike is also not suggested for every meal. My particular takeaway wasn’t that carbs are bad, but there seems to be a method to enjoy them if that is the path one so takes. And if it’s a sandwich, bowl, etc the advice was to eat as is – it’s not practical to take it apart.
Eating a savory breakfast is a hack I discovered myself before the glucose goddess. I did it because I was so addicted to sweets. I woke up thinking pancakes, French toast, sweet bread and the like. Getting away from sweet breakfast is what helped me break the sugar habit. I finally feel I’m in control not the sugar.
As a south indian i dont know any other way than eating a savory breakfast 😂 glucose goddess has been around for a few decades but our method of eating savory breakfast has been around for centuries 😂😂😂 ❤
If you check out the Glucose Goodness video, she emphasizes the importance of having berries in the morning. She also talks about thoughtfully dressing our carbs for a healthier lifestyle even if you missed it.
I don’t religiously watch this channel anymore but i love this channel. i’ve been applying the things i learned for a couple years now and i’m just so grateful for the empathetic approach that Abbey has. so many nutrition youtubers seem rational but then make you feel like you’re doing something bad for your body with little habits you might have or foods you might like. gentle nutrition & hunger crushing combo, that’s all you need. thanks Abbey!
edit: i’m at the end of the video… WHAT?? Even light drinking significantly increases cancer risk??!? I gotta research that some more, oh god i gotta tell my friends to stop drinking
the savory vs sweet breakfast is SUCH a personal thing – i tried savory for a very long time after a lifetime of sweet (i’m italian so sweet breakfast is just the norm here) and it made me feel SO weighed down, sluggish and bloated, even when nutritionally i was kind of trying to keep the same balance of proteins vs carbs! Sugars just really help me get that initial energy boost at the start of the day, and a nice big bowl of greek yogurt with honey and nuts and whole wheat toast with some spread on it really just keeps me full enough to only start getting hungry around lunchtime without feeling like i’m too full to move even though calorically i probably ate the same amount!
I’m the same. I used to force myself to have savoury breakfast because healthier yada yada but I ended up just being sluggish, not really energised and most importantly not satiated. I sometimes ended up “closing” my savoury breakfast ceremony with a chocolate biscuit lol I’m back to my carb-breakfast with oats, fruits and nut butters and love it so much!! <3
I love the whole “dressing up” foods! Carbs are heart healthy- they help me run!! I also love Abbey’s hairstyle in this video 🩷
Preach Queen. I’m so glad you do what you do.
I also learned so many things from your channel years ago that I continue to implement and remind myself of day to day when I’m having bad body image days.
I literally eat the way you taught us to. Because some of us need the empathy & holistic thinking instead of the black and white thinking.
