Funny thing I remember breaking a glass when I was young, 60 years ago my mother scolded me a lot. For today’s standard, we were fairly poor back then and it was a big deal. My parents were very patriarchal and pretty regimented, but those harsh comments most of the time did take away a lot of self-confidence. I thank God I was a strong-willed person, and I was pretty successful in my life and career!❤

So so true. Don’t accept it. I’m 53 and my mum still can’t resist telling me that I’ve put weight on some part of my body. She doesn’t understand that it’s not all about the body. It’s about building a good character and spirit to rise above the things that want to dictate to us or keep us in bandage to wrong thinking. Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit but it is not our God that it rules us. Yes, We should look after it as it is our earth suit but not be stressed out about it. Give thanks to God everyday that you are wonderfully made

You ain’t lyin’, 51 y/o here & my Mum can’t help the looks comments. Always makes me wonder if I were a son if she’d do the same to him. In the end, it’s really about her own insecurities, so I broke that intergenerational trauma cycle 🫶🏾

    • @nbc911 says:

I agree. Well done you for breaking the cycle@@eyewashdesign

I was told I wouldn’t get a good job 😢 not good enough, well I say I’ve chose not to believe that but it took me a while

We were called dumb but in a joking way that was not funny

You are very uplifting to listen to. We all struggle with some negativity, but it is loving yourself and start believing in our selves. I love your target areas for my upper arms. I do them 2 times daily. I am so glad to have found your channel. God bless you for teaching us good habit. Marilyn from Michigan

  • @judysmith7455 says:

I never liked you because you look just like your dad. There were lots but that’s the one that hurts the most

    • @eyewashdesign says:

You’ve got company here 🙋🏽‍♀️ Glad I figured out as an adult that this was my Mother’s own projection & insecurities and had nothing to do with me. But, as you mention, it sticks with you in the deep recesses of our brains! We are NOT our father’s. ❤

    • @nbc911 says:

There is an unlikable characteristic there that someone would even say that to a child! 😢

  • @phyllisbaatz9677 says:

    Thank you for sharing!
When I was young, I remember that was always afraid to try anything new! That I wouldn’t do well!
My parents were very supportive and loving!
But now, I am always looking forward to trying new things!
What’s the worst that could happen? I don’t like it and move on!

  • @karenhahn1102 says:

Love your positivity! You are my therapist and my daily fitness trainer!! You’re lovely and such fun! We are not what we’re told as children and those comments do stay with you. I am not a follower I’m quite the leader!! ❤

  • @bjtaylor5424 says:

Not being as smart as my older sister. Turns out that I have a bachelor degree that I got in 2021and I’m I’m management after 30 years of front line jobs. I am not stupid and I am worthy.

Thank you for the positive messages you put out for us to take in.
