Amazing video! Not sure if you have already done it but is there any way you could do a video on glycemic load, how its calculated and how it compares to net carb levels? I know from your blog it takes into account portion size but im just trying to learn how some higher carb foods fall into the low glycemic load categories.

Great list, but Im wonder where spinach, pumpkin, and pumpkin seeds rank on this list?

Thanks again for sharing your knowledge. 😊

  • @CarisaRae says:

But…. problem with these types of categorizations is the now new scientific evidence that people respond differently to different foods. Best advice you could give is to wear a CGM and see what foods you respond poorly too even if that food is paired with fat and fiber. Right? But, I get you need to make videos.

    Kiwi?

I get avocado is a “good fat” but it it is still a fat and therefore not really conducive to weight loss??

    • @briannehill7583 says:

I cant give you a scientific answer. And I am not anywhere near as knowledgeable as Autumn. But from my personal experience this isn’t neccesarily true. Back in the earlier 2000 ( maybe 2010 or 11 can’t remember) I changed my diet after struggling to lose weight after the birth of my 3rd child in 2006. I ate at least one avocado every single day. And lost quite a bit of weight quickly. I also kept that off for years. Started putting weight on in 2020 when I turned 40. And now I’m struggling and nothing is working. So this is more of a not neccesarily answer. But im thinking it depends on the person’s needs and the other things they consume

I disagree about potatoes and sweet potatoes. They are both really helpful in creating progesterone which is needed during that part of a woman’s cycle. Also for us post-menopausal women, they are great, especially sweet potatoes, for helping us to regain some of our progesterone.
