When straining do you store in the fridge?

  • @raincoffeeandbooks8079 says:

I’ve been doing this since 2023, after discovering your post on this method. My whole family loves it so much. We eat it or use it in smoothies. My daughter loves it with the heated frozen berries. It’s a staple in our family. Thank you, Autumn! 💖

  • @jennifermanziano9925 says:

Could you do this with canned coconut milk?

  • @rachaellesh3952 says:

Been doing this method thanks to you Autumn for a few years!! The absolute best and I make it weekly.

  • @emd5095 says:

Hmmmmm thanks for this! I’m going to give it a shot I think.

  • @Anne-ox9xr says:

Are you able to use the liquid that’s strained out for something, or do you just throw it away?

  • @Idkcustomerrrr says:

    Are u divorced yet?

  • @Lost1050 says:

My instant pot has the yogurt setting so it’s easy peasy. I make it in there all the time and I use that exact kind of milk. I use the whole container. I also have the same strainer you use and I love it.

  • @stephh3521 says:

Autumn…..I love all your work and think you are an absolute legend. But please 🙏 invest in an instant pot with a yogurt setting. That multi-step routine with a crock pot just eats up your time unnecessarily. The instant pot process requires time too, but you’re only waiting/monitoring until the boil setting is done, cool it down for 10 mins until it reaches approx 90-100F, add your previous yogurt, then set for 8 hrs (also 24 hr option) and walk away until it beeps. I use the same strainer, which I discovered a long time ago from one of your posts! ❤

I make yogurt and cottage cheese using full fat grass fed milk and even ghee using grass fed butter (plus a million other things)……all in the instant pot. Please give it a try. If you are concerned about kitchen real estate, it has a slow cooker setting too 😉

    • @AutumnBates says:

Small kitchen problems – I don’t have room for another appliance! Thankfully I work from home and already own a crockpot so this is super easy for me 🙂

  • @kids4truthbeencouraged490 says:

Can you do this with nondairy yogurt and milk?

  • @WiggyWamWam says:

I prefer to use my instant pot, because I know that it is getting up to the correct temperature to kill the harmful bacteria but not the yogurt bacteria

  • @deborahmackenzie1935 says:

What happens if you use homogenised milk ??

    • @AutumnBates says:

My mistake in the audio: you can ALSO use homogenized. In the past, I had used a non homogenized milk and then switched to a homogenized brand that happened to not work. But this milk that I’m using in the video is homogenized and it worked fine!

@@AutumnBates thank you Autumn – love your content 😀 one day I hope I can buy your protein powder 🤞🤞in 🇬🇧 UK

  • @melochan says:

Thanks to you I use this recipe all the time. But I do 1 gallon at a time 😅

    • @AutumnBates says:

If I had a bigger crockpot, I would also! Do you use the same time for heating and cooking when you use the larger amount?

  • @LDKirk says:

Half cup is a huge amount. You can get just the same results with a fraction of yogurt starter.
