The stress one would put into obsessing about these ingredients is more deadly than the ingredients themselves

  • @christiegodfrey7756 says:

Nothing wrong with a donut now and then.

  • @DanielleBaum says:

I love Krispy Kreme… but I don’t eat them everyday. it’s more like every few months I get some. they make me smile to have a bite of the creme filled chocolate covered one.

people get to worked up about things that are meant to be a sometimes treat not a daily one

  • @Pyrs187 says:

This is what I like about this lady. Everything in moderation

  • @nothanksmegan says:

I love a donut but krispy kreams are so overrated!

  • @kikicogger2284 says:

It’s also important to remember each ingredient also needs everything that goes into it listed. This can make food that we’d usually consider “one ingredient” to look like a lot more. For example, dark chocolate chips wouldn’t be listed as just dark chocolate chips. It will be listed as dark chocolate chips (ingredients in the dark chocolate chips). This causes those dark chocolate chips to go from one ingredient to 3+ ingredients. If many of these “7 ingredient or less” recipes were held to this same standard, more often than not they will be more than 7 ingredients. This is why judging the health or value of a food based on ingredients alone can be very misleading, especially since any added vitamins or minerals are ALSO listed as ingredients.
Also, don’t automatically freak out about ingredients you can’t pronounce. Many are just the chemical name for products you use all the time, or are vitamins/minerals. For example, sodium hydrogencarbonate is just baking powder.

  • @Raven74408 says:

Dude thinks one donut is going to give you diabetes. 😂

  • @lillianblack8749 says:

Oh yeah cause giving your valentine a salad and saying “it’s way more healthy” isn’t gonna result with you having a face full of lettuce and no valentine.

  • @Jl18086 says:

It feels like such an uphill battle trying to explain this stuff to people. Plenty of people eat things they can’t pronounce every day and they live just fine

    • @maryhamric says:

I work in the ingredients business and I can pronounce a lot of things. And I live just fine too. LOL.

    • @TeroTheShortOne says:

Seriously. I knew a person years ago who was an “only ingredients I can pronounce” type and I wanted to slap the homemade burrito bowl she was eating off the table because she said ‘chipotle’ like it rhymed with Aristotle. Technically, she shouldn’t have been eating it because she couldn’t pronounce it, and it shows just how ridiculous that rule is.

  • @laurenskee2665 says:

Even healthy recipes have loads of ingredients. Since when is that a bad sign?

  • @DanielleFerreira-uk9yt says:

25g of sugar in 1 donut is actually really reasonable.

  • @kittybennett9004 says:

Abbey you are the lone voice of common sense out there. Thank you!!

  • @geekfreak2000 says:

I just want to eat in peace. If I want a donut I will eat a donut, gosh darn it!!!!!

  • @capt.kneecaps5237 says:

these weirdos act like people are scarfing down a half dozen donuts everyday for every meal and not like, once on an occasion
hell i like my junk food but if i eat too much or often of it i stop liking it so i just drop it for a while, save it for the weekend or some occasion

  • @mymeloo4108 says:

youre telling me theres sugar in my sweets???

  • @gitouttamycage9221 says:

The endorphins from eating a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts easily offsets the deleterious effects of the ingredients. True story!

  • @vickiarmstrong-bradley4835 says:

I usually agree with her but there’s no need to eat the crap that’s included in one of these disgusting doughnuts, ever!

    • @Diana-qp2rw says:

But there’s also nothing wrong with eating one of these donuts occasionally if you really love them and enjoy having them once in a while.
Honestly, I never tried them because they look disgusting to me, but if that’s the food of choice for a special occasion, so be it. One donut once in a while won’t hurt you, but forcing yourself to never eat even a single one if you actually love them isn’t exactly healthy and will only make you want them more.

  • @galefromwaterdeep says:

Every single person I’ve ever seen squawking about number of ingredients and not being able to pronounce them, etc, has never had any clue what any of the words in those ingredients lists mean. Because they failed high school science classes and lack the reading comprehension to read these long words, they assume it’s bad, and that’s literally all they go on. That is, literally, the extent of their wisdom. Long words, to these people, means ‘danger’. It’s insane.

  • @Nunya-jw2dn says:

If it’s such a “captain obvious moment” why is the rate of obesity on the rise? Why do people continue to overeat unhealthy food despite knowing it is unhealthy? It’s because these foods are engineered to be highly addictive. Those who are addicted to these foods might know they’re unhealthy but they will be in massive denial about it and convince themselves that “one donut won’t hurt”. The problem is a lot of people can’t stop at one donut and those are the people this guy is targeting.

  • @giuseppeferrara952 says:

And this guy never said that you can never have donuts ever. He’s just trying to inform his audience on certain foods so that people are more aware of what they are eating. If you watch some of his videos on Tik Tok or Youtube, he says it’s okay to enjoy some processed foods occasionally while still maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Something tells me that either you chose to cherrypick a video of his to suit your narrative (like usual) or you didn’t take the time to research him or watch more of his videos.

It’s pretty sad that you would encourage others to eat donuts or other processed foods when the obesity rate is high today. And you’re totally ignoring the fact that foods like donuts are designed to be highly addictive and palatable. This is problematic for people with Binge Eating Disorders, who will definitely not stop at just one donut.

Oh, and the irony is you’d never have a donut yourself in its original form, but won’t admit it. Based on your obsession with macros, especially protein, you’d feel the need to dress the donut up with something like full-fat greek yogurt, or even try to create one from scratch using your brand new protein powder.
