    Yay first!

  • @liberallioness4335 says:

As someone who has binged and restricted for over 20 years I don’t understand how mukbangs and fat positivity is widely monetized and celebrated but people who try to share their ED struggles … bulimia or anorexia etc on social media platforms like YouTube are taken down, demonetized and demonized

  • @Esthie229 says:

I often noticed this when I would watch shows like my 600 lb life. A lot of these peoples partners would claim they didn’t want their partner to lose weight because they assumed they would leave them. Wanting to immobilize someone because of your own insecurity is so messed up. Sad that these young people are risking their health for money

Mukbangs Makes Eating Competitions Look Harmless.

  • @angelicaugalde1523 says:

Omg this is so sad what is up with this sick mentality?? I honestly find it disgusting people who watch binging for pleasure

Hi Abbey, fellow Canadian here Silly question would LMNT help with skin hydration? My face gets so dry with these Canadian winters….

  • @Andrew-id5cl says:

LMNT has over 400 mgs of maltodextrin, which causes a rise in blood sugar and insulin.

    • @MarymMatthews says:

Not really. It uses Stevia leaf extract.

    • @Andrew-id5cl says:

@ Feel free to research it. LMNT admits there is maltodextrin.

    • @RenayOpish says:

apparently the maltodextrin is a ‘flavor carrier’ and doesn’t have to be listed on the ingredient label…had just heard this a couple days ago.
I don’t care about an insulin spike particularly- I will make sure to drink it with meals- but if you are paying attention to that it is kind of shady they don’t let people know this up front.

    • @joanna7677 says:

They do address this on the website, but no, it isn’t listed on the ingredients. For most people it shouldn’t be a problem, but if you were on a super strict diet it would be simply nice to know.

  • @selyemperzsa1 says:

This is basically OF in a different format. 🙁

  • @audreybringgold6217 says:

Glad i got off tik tok 😢

  • @BiancaHamlet says:

I think sadly a lot of people would put the money they make with content like this over their own health. Also i love the LMNT packets and honestly am so intrigued by the chocolate flavors !

  • @ashley-cz1sl says:

Tic Toc needs to ban stuff like this. It’s not healthy by any means. She needs therapy and needs to get some help. I am only saying that as a recoverying anorexic and bulimic. This kind of content needs to be banned

  • @Lori_L says:

Thank you so much for educating us. It especially helps me as an eating disorders advocate since i haven’t come across it yet.

    • @thearodriguez8073 says:

This is NOT a common issue, it is not an epedemic or usual. Abbey is very sensationalist and projects a lot.

  • @mbe102 says:

I watch the food eating challenges (like beardmeetsfood etc) to remind myself where I could’ve been, after having lost 88lbs, and it disgusts me to see it. Its a way to keep my eye on the ball. Because I used to eat like that…. eating and never being full… and yes, I had an E D….

The with holding food accusation happened to me when I went with my now-ex to the doctors office. The doctor asked me to leave, and she comes out and told me that the Doctor asked her if I was starving her (she was 5’7″ 95lbs, tiny girl) and it broke my heart. Because the entire time I was trying to get her to eat healthfully… and just eat…. the foods she ate at home were awful, packaged lasagna, that was weird slop…. I felt like I had to do something. So theres another side/perspective of that. And I think that behaviour should be shamed, thats more or less physical gaslighting. And its SUPER abusive.

Sorry to trauma dump but, hopefully some folks see this and know that you’re gonna be okay, things’ll get better just keep to your goals and remember how bad you want them.

  • @sarak4219 says:

I don’t get why anybody wants to watch extreme mukbangs in the first place. I find them disturbing.

    • @jinndiaz3752 says:

Think it’s mostly a fetish for some people into feeding kinks. Some people also just enjoy watching people destroy themselves. Like despite Niko Avocado being a deplorable cesspool that he is. He had anti fans who loved to watch him do crazy things out of hatred. Schadenfreude.

    • @tushtush11 says:

I think it’s the fantasy of getting to eat as much “forbidden food” as possible – while we won’t allow ourselves to do that, some people get the satisfaction of seeing other people do it.

    • @Jan74 says:

I hate watching people eat. But I love WIEIAD that just shows the food, What I Ate This Week, grocery hauls, meal prep… I am a nosy person! But no chewing, thanks.

  • @sophieirwin3497 says:

I watched a ‘trying to eat 10000 calories in day’ video and although the content creator stated that this wasn’t normal or healthy, it was just a fun one off challenge because I think she wanted to challenge herself to eat more/try more variety of foods for her long term health. She didn’t make it, but I commented that it is possible to get to 10000 calories if you eat little and often and take into account drinks and snacks. Basically like Christmas day where it is a calorie marathon. And even then most people have a snooze post Christmas lunch! But to do these challenges weekly or more is really bad for the creator and those who are very impressionable and think it’s okay to eat that much food in one sitting.

    • @mockingbirdnightingale7169 says:

I track my calories and I have big cheat days once in a while and the most I’ve EVER been able to eat was around 5000 in a day. And then the following day I think I had like 400 calories. It’s just unimaginable to me to eat 10k in a day.

  • @Ninyfer says:

30 y old young adults are out where dying like crazy due to obesity and you don’t talk ab that you message is very personal it seems …

  • @karynstouffer3562 says:

Honestly, I don’t understand the whole mukbang thing. It’s revolting.

  • @mamo7278 says:

I’m so sick of the PC “kink shaming” rhetoric. Some ppl are absolute perverted menaces to society and should feel ashamed of their behaviors. It’s harming other people and our society at large.

  • @marias2656 says:

Wait I don’t even think she’s that big overweight though? I think 🤔 we go through periods of our life where we definitely need to eat more due to stress etc Maybe she’ll slow down a little in the future and she will adjust? I understand your concern though but to say she’s definitely going to take a Nicocado route is a little far fetched isn’t it? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t know maybe I’m wrong. I do appreciate your point of view and you do have some valid points and yes it would be a good idea for her to chew more slowly.
