Great video. I will add this: to anyone on the fence about taking the first steps, please remember that any sacrifices you make to improve your health will be much better than the sacrifice you make if you lose your health to diabetes, high blood pressure, kidney disease, heart disease, and the like.

The last 2 days of July, Autumn!❤❤❤❤

  • @suzannecarrier287 says:

I felt very defeated as a sugar and carb addict. I was able to kick my cravings and drop over 30 lbs. by eating lots of protein. I replaced my cereal in the morning with eggs or Greek yogurt and for the rest of the day focused on meat, vegetables, and healthy fats. Give it a try. You will feel so much better!😊

Autumns advice really works! Ive lost 74 lbs and 10.5 inches off my waist in the last 13 months. I try not to focus on the results too often and just follow and trust the process. By that i mean do a weigh in and measure only every 6 weeks so i try not to hyper-focus on the results which is really easy to do. I am never hungry, have no cravings ( except around my period) and allow myself 2 moderate treat meals a week so i don’t feel like i am missing out. I have tons of energy and rarely eat any ultra processed foods anymore. I don’t like the taste of the UP foods anymore and if i do eat them on occasion ( like chips) i really don’t feel good after now. I get bloated and really really full. Autumn thank you for all of your help and advise!

Fundamental tips right there. Your fb group 🟰 support and inspiration. Thank you Autumn.

    • @sarahh4457 says:

This, 100%. The Facebook group and YouTube videos are the only people “in my corner” at the moment. I definitely need the collective reverberation and amplification of the right things to do to help propel me to keep making wise choices. As I go, it becomes more natural for me, but it’s still great to have a community that’s on the same page!

  • @hello9945 says:

Autumn, why do you speak so fast in your videos? SLOW DOWN!!

    • @susanw620 says:

It’s so frustrating. She has some great points to make and as I’m digesting what she’s saying, two other topics fly by. Slow down!

    • @cowboysjunkie says:

Change your playback speed to .75x or .5x

    • @pajamamama5965 says:

Changing the playback speed works great especially if you’re taking notes or really want to focus. A lot of YouTube creators talk too slow and I don’t have a lot of time on my hands so I increase the playback speed for those videos

  • @rachelmcgill8143 says:

Protein, Fat, Fiber – I keep that in mind at every meal along with strength training + walking and some running. For reference, I am 55 and postmenopausal x6 years. It works. I do not have belly fat, and I’ve had two kids, now grown adults. Autumn knows her stuff! Yes, you have to make changes, but the changes will become your new normal. My husband, unfortunately, eats ultra-processed foods at every meal and lots of snacks, treats, and soda, but I am not tempted by the pantry full of cookies and chips. He buys all of his own snacks, and I purchase my own healthy foods. I do wish he would eat healthier, but it is a personal choice. But know that this is doable. Trust me, it works, and it is sustainable. ❤

Love your channel! Are you going to include a weekly grocery list and some meal ideas to support this video? Would be amazing as this is all great general advice!

    • @Magpie-1111 says:

If you go to the main page for her YouTube channel, she has lots of great recipe videos.

    • @sosunshine95 says:

She refers to a Facebook page – is it public or private? I am the one that needs to drop 20lbs minimum so would be good if someone can share the link to her FB page, if permitted to join

Does the same go for someone who has more than 2 pounds to lose?

  • @bouyaikama303 says:

Good morning from indiana. Your advice did change some of my habits. I 🚶‍♂️ almost between 15 and 20.000 steps a day and walk like 3 to 4tines a day and my body composition had changed and I do hit training from 20min to 45 minutes depending 💪 on the days and walk after each meals. I am 5/7 used to weight 145 now I do between 136 and varies up and down idk why but I feel much better but I need to be on 130 and 135 pound 💷. And I do alor of your recipes

Does this work for a 73 year old retired woman?

  • @inajosmood says:

I think just make it work.
For most people reducing caloric intake does the tric.
What made it easy for me is to focus on that first. It also got me started to start counting and scheduling calories, very useful commitment of time
Then transition to healthier and healtier foods and meals. It’s cool to then look at caloric differences. Really insightful. Compare Some fresh organic tomato soup or some super market brand out of a can.
Then try to get plenty protein and fibres.
Reduce fats and especially saturated fats.
Also: increase movement and work towards muscle growth.
Also: try to learn this bit by bit, be kind to yourself. The process might go fast. Then you got stuc and at some point you adjust and go in the right direction again.

For me it is really useful to be obsessed for a period. That helps me focus and make new choices.

Also: make sure you’re not done. Make weightloss important but living pretty balanced and healthy ‘enough’ more important. So you develop a new lifestyle. And make it bearable, that’s why the caloric focus is so strong. You can lose a bit of focus for a while. Drink or eat a little too much. That’s human. Then you become aware of whats happening. you adapt what you eat, cut calories and you’re back on track in a few days, or when you were really indulging, it might take a couple of weeks.
I make it sound too simple. It’s a struggle, but it’s worth trying as the benefits are huge especially in the long run. Once you’re done with the current situation, it becomes a skill you can learn and master.

  • @ashlynnkaplan680 says:

Now nine months, postpartum and weaning from breast-feeding to use my freezer stash… I can’t believe how much better I feel just doing that! Maybe it was hormonal or just being strapped to a pump all the time or both, but my mood level out exponentially and my energy improved enough to start exercising with resistance and not having to nap every day! Taking my measurements and getting started has never felt better with having your advice on board!
