Greetings. I personally am high protein/low carb( not doing keto though). I do intermittent fasting for 15hrs. I track on my fitness app & do a 1,200 cal deficit. I feel like my scale is on hiatus right now. Is there something you can recommend to help get my scale moving again?

    • @OscarShulman says:

      1,200 calorie deficit each day?

    • @monikab3413 says:

Maybe your metabolic rate has dropped too low. 1200 cal for a woman seems drastic, the usually recommended deficit should be only 100-200 cal of your daily needed calorie intake to not stress out the body and slow metabolism.

    • @OscarShulman says:

Yeah I would say that your daily metabolic rate has dropped and gotten used to how little you are eating. This is your body burning less because you are eating less. You might have to eat more so your body can get used to eating more then drop calories again after eating in a small surplus for awhile

I’ve lost over 50 lbs from 260 to 210. I eat a high protein and little to low carb to no carbs. I do fast and drink lots of water throughout the day. I walk 3-5 days a week but recently this past week I haven’t I been lacking motivation as my weight fluctuating between the same 5 pounds from 207 – 212lbs. I have hit a major plateau in my weight for since November. I have done keto in the past in 2020 and lost about 30 lbs (233 to 203) and I’m starting to do keto again because I feel good health wise and not bloated. Is there anyway I can break this plateau the more healthier way with more results? I’m at my wits end that I’m slowly starting to give up because I can’t break out of this plateau no matter the diet tried keto, calorie deficit, low carb diet. My stored and stubborn fat is in my mid section.

  • @jeanwoodall1523 says:

I’m more concerned about body composition than weight. Muscle weighs more than fat. My largest body measurement is my bust and my partner doesn’t want me to lose another inch from it. I already lost eight. I was a 34KK/32LL and now I’m a 34GG/32HH. I go for walks and swing kettlebells at home. I follow Lauren Brooks workouts. They are fun and effective. My sister stays in ketosis even when she consumes a lot of carbs (we eat a lot of rice as we prefer Filipino food). She has hyperthyroidism and Grave’s Disease.

  • @birgitk6518 says:

Intermittent fasting has been the only thing I can actually stick to and I enjoy. I don’t do low carb anymore, I tried but I feel it’s not necessary since I still eat whole carb sources. IF has actually helped me with my gut health tremendously and feel I can digest some carbs more now. Processed carbs are the problem, not the whole carbs. Skipping breakfast makes wonders to my body and I lose weight very easywhot that. I break my fast between 12-4 pm depending on a day.

  • @peace-a says:

Great tips but like another viewer said, the background music is distracting. Maybe just lower the volume some.

  • @Svet-Lana2022 says:

Really great tips! I want to point out that for beginners. It is probably best to track in some shape or form just to see what they are consuming because a lot of people underestimate the amount of calories. They are eating in a day.

  • @mariasheppard83 says:

Fasting 16/8 plus walking before and after work has done wonders

  • @DarleneFimbres-u4k says:

I’m having a hard time staying consistent with working out 😞

  • @liverpoolpictorial says:

I was on a keto diet for two years and 16/8 fast. I lost 70 pounds. Sadly, I’m back to eating unhealthy foods again, but because I still 16/8 fast, I’ve only put 12 pounds back on over the past 12 months and seems to have stabilised.
