Excellent information, thank you! Whole plant foods definitely helped when weaning off sertraline.
Reading “How not to die” chapter in depression (by coincidence, mind you) in the waiting room for my Doctor regarding treatment for my depression safed me from taking SSRIs and opting for more colourful fruit and veg instead. “An apple a day keeps SSRI away”
Hey, good for you! That’s awesome 🙂
This was really good and something I really needed to hear right now. Thank you so much for this upload!
You’re the best Doc, thank you
Inherited through genes? I call Bs. How do you separate genetics from environment?
Genetics and environment are both factors, and are intertwined as environmental elements can trigger specific genetic responses.
No gene exists outside an environment.
I appreciate your point, though — we know our environment is “depressogenic.”
Love and greens for life
One way ticket out of the blues.
Thanks for this video especially at this time. I’m at a point in my diet where I know I need to get serious or regretfully accept the consequences. How this is meaningful to me at this particular time is that I’ve also noticed a vast improvement in both my moods and physical feelings if I cut out the processed/ultra processed and animal products. As I’m a simple kind of person it just stands to reason for me that if I’m feeling better then it must be better for me. So, thanks again.
Yes to more greens and then a good night’s rest, as it’s part of the health formula. Based on research someone who struggles with sleep problems has a tenfold higher risk of developing depression compared to someone else who consistently enjoys good sleep.
This podcast episode is very insightful. Thank you Dr. G! 💚
