My main reason is moral. I find eating animal products unethical.
Who decides what’s ethical and what’s not?
Go vegan for your health, whole food plant based.
Go vegan for the animals. Go vegan for the planet. Go vegan and be healthier and happier.
A lower risk of heart disease and cancer for you and a better planet for everyone, human and animals.
Eating healthy is not a diet it is a healthy life style.
Go out and look around. The vast majority of people you see are obese or al least over weight.
People do not need to be fat shamed BUT being over weight is not healthy and leads to a host of illnesses.
When you look around you can see all the unhealthy people without taking a blood test or a fitness test
“NORMAL” for the average American is “UNHEALTHY” The health of society is in decline.
I’m an ethical vegan too. I’m vegan for the animals. That was my biggest motivation. I watched the movie “Dominion”. It had a big impact on me. When you know you know, and I can’t ever justify that suffering because of my own selfish desires for pleasure.
Becoming vegan for animals motivated me to become wfpb for my health and to fight global warming.

I don’t think genetics hv anything to do with long life. Long life is given by GOD based upon our relationship with Him.

I am a double Apoe4 carrier (36 year old) Is it not too simple to just say the main problem is cholesterol? As far as I know we also produce more neurotoxic compounds with age and the blood brain barrier declines earlier.

I was very surprised to see a number of centenarian veterans traveling and attending the D-day ceremonies in France, a couple interviewed still working as a choice choice.
Both my parents died from cancer before the age of 65. Knowing I have a good chance of avoiding that fate by making healthy choices is empowering and comforting.
I hope so, my great grandmother lived to 101. She always finished her left overs and ate a grapefruit every morning. On her deathbed she would wake up and say, “oh, I’m still here”. She was ready to join her lord and savior in heaven with her family and friends🥹

Dr. Gregor, would you tell us about use of Lithium Orotate? I recently found out about it a little bit. I started to take it and it helped me stay focused on my diet. It the past I was never successful up until now. I wonder why more people do not know about it.
The longevity genetic is the mutation where people have naturally low LDL cholesterol as they genetically cannot absorb any cholesterol from the diet, and don’t have the negative impacts from smoking. Lifelong LDL is the biggest indicator of longevity, these people, no matter what if they smoked, or eat crap, because their body had naturally low LDL. They lived extremely long and were healthy eat a low-fat diet if you want to have low lifelong LDL levels, Carbs FTW!! 💪💪💪

My stepfather ate garbage, drank heavily, obesity, diabetes, cancer in his 60s, the whole deal. Died age 99. His mother hit 106. Mostly genetic.
There are really cases where someone get a ton of abuse in his/her body and still live long enough were rarer than we think.
But the healthy diet and lifestyle are proven in helping people to extend their lives beyond their supposedly age limit.
It would be better to do that way since most of us aren’t gifted with that kind of genetics.
