Dr greger,I am a big fan of your work and so I d like to suggest changing the title to at least something like ” HOW good is yoga for you”( it’s a really obvious thing that Yoga is fricking awesome and I shared my results in your last video but for the sake of not putting people’ especially yogis off do consider my suggestion, God bless, keep rocking it)
Good podcast, thanks!!. I like the new pic on the website…
What about the effect of flexibility and stretching for health and longevity? Then, what kinds if stretches are best?
Basic yoga is stretching and balance….do not underestimate the benefits of that. You would think after his video on falls and hip fractures this would be obvious.
Dr. Greger, these studies are as mismatched in what they measure as how they measure.. here is one example : don’t look at bone density and yoga..already we know the research is mixed in osteoporosis and falls. Just examine advanced yoga practitioners and flexibility.. are these yoga practitioners going to fall walking around? Isn’t that the leading cause of hip fractures? No, yoga practitioners are pretty great at balance poses.. balance poses maintain equilibrium. Really this research you cited is just kind of superficial..have a talk with them…yoga means “union” and uts aim is not health per se, but diet, mainly sattvic, meditation, Tamas and niyamas , cleansing. Poses alone are not yoga.. the title: is yoga good for you and then answering it with these simple research results does no justice. I could go on and on… but best for your researchers to take a deep dive into the science of yoga.. love you, tho! You’re awesome!!!❤
What I would love to see is to study long term yoga practitioners..not the one’s just selling poses like Seventh Day Adventists . Because yoga in this respect is just as stringent. And the diet is mainly vegan. Really what is the longevity of true yoga practitioners ? now THAT would be interesting, looking at those that adhere to all aspects of yoga .. I would call it true yoga..
This is a good take. Yoga, specially among beginners is expected to differ- a lot.
Yoga is a demonic spiritual practice. I used to think otherwise. I learned the hard way but thankfully Jesus saved me. If He can save me He can save anyone! I know my words here may offend or make people feel like def ing the practice. I used to feel and do the exact same thing. I say this as someone who was there before. It is evil. If you truly want to find God, the true God. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The God who lived us so much that He sent His only Son to die and rise again on the third day so that we may find true forgiveness and salvation and eternal life Him, read your Bible. My personal preference is the KJV translation. Search the many testimonies on this. Doreen Virtue has an incredibly eye opening and educational testimony along with many other videos on this topic as well. May God bless and keep you! ✝️🙏🏻🤍🕊️
Stop please.
Well, Yoga is part of Hinduism, so of course it is totally opposed to Christianity. If you want to exercise just practice sports.
Get back on your meds!
Great idea, lets put your religion to the test.
There is no god, but if you have no friends then I guess you need an imaginary friend.
wrong assumption…yoga can be done on youtube and requires 0 socialization. I do yoga for flex and balance at 70 years old(nothing extreme). I also do resistance, walking and stair climbing. The benefits of good balance in later years should not be underestimated.
