Sad part is, we as human beings are stubborn donkeys.

  • @catlyn777 says:

Dr. Greger has drastically improved my health and quality of life because he educated me so well. I was feeling sick all the time, fatigued, and barely being able to walk a block….to feeling much better, and walking miles just by eating whole plants. I’m even a gardener now.

  • @shanniwelsh133 says:

I’m listening to this just moments after I received my latest annual labs telling me that I am very healthy in my 50s. This is because of my vegan diet. Thank you for the information you provide on this lifestyle.

  • @phillippinter7518 says:

It’s also common in Africa to eat a lot of palm oil, so the issue probably isn’t just any saturated fat

  • @crowdofdissidents155 says:

Is it possible for those on high fiber plant diets to still get polyps and/or colon cancer? Thanks

  • @RedWine2go says:

Can I just say after Dr G’s tips, my morning oat’s have gone up many levels of enjoyment since adding organic cocoa powder/dates/blueberries and yogurt with strawberries/ground flaxseed is totally awesome.

Even children today have signs of artery disease. Fast foods and sugary drinks have long term consequences.
There is an obesity epidemic today where over 60% of the population is overweight or obese.
What is common today and “NORMAL” is not healthy. The average person today is not healthy and is taking medications.
Heart attacks were once only common in people over 65. Today people in their 40 are having heart attacks.
Add more plants and vegetables to your diet and less junk and overly processed foods
Get off the couch. Get off the iphone or ipad. Get up and go for a walk, run, bike ride , garden, work outside. Move more, sit less.

  • @KJSvitko says:

Processed food manufacturers need to hear from consumers that less ADDED chemicals, sugar, oil and salt is wanted in their food products.
Why is there so much ADDED sugar in everything, even bread. That’s just crazy
Email, text, tweet or phone your favorite producer of poison and let them know consumers want less salt, oils and sugars in their products.
Let their customer service department know that all the extra added salt, oil and sugar is not necessary or desired and is causing health issues.
Reduce or eliminate highly processed food from your diet if you can.
Go vegan for your health, whole food plant based.
Go vegan for the animals. Go vegan for the planet. Go vegan and be healthier and happier.
A lower risk of heart disease and cancer for you and a better planet for everyone, human and animals.
Eating healthy is not a diet it is a healthy life style.
Go out and look around. The vast majority of people you see are obese or al least over weight.
People do not need to be fat shamed BUT being over weight is not healthy and leads to a host of illnesses.
When you look around you can see all the unhealthy people without taking a blood test or a fitness test
“NORMAL” for the average American is “UNHEALTHY” The health of society is in decline.

the doctor is being disingenous. the best source of RS is TUBERS, not Grains, not Pulses. in addition to giving us RS, they provide VItamin C. (Tubers = potatoes and sweet potatoes)

  • @wefimi says:

Thank you for this information..learn a lot.. one question is it good to eat sauerkraut?

  • @Arugula100 says:

Dr Greger, I am confused by your statements that high stool PH is associated with colon cancer. Isn’t higher PH more alkaline on the acid base PH scale. Below is what AI says.
The acid-base pH scale is a measurement system that indicates how acidic or basic a substance is, ranging from 0 (highly acidic) to 14 (highly basic), with a neutral point at 7; a pH below 7 is considered acidic, and a pH above 7 is considered basic.

Key points about the pH scale:
    Scale range: 0 to 14
    Neutral point: pH 7
    Acidic: pH less than 7
Basic (alkaline): pH greater than 7
