  • @alfonso365 says:

The first and last audio are the same.

  • @Vitlaus says:

I thought people take fish oil for brain function.

  • @prd2bevgy says:

    Just a marketing gimmick

  • @xperience-evolution says:

Is it just me or are the last around 4 Minutes a repetition?

  • @CessnaPilot99 says:

Rhonda Patrick would strongly encourage 1g per day. Brain benefits and depression treatment aren’t talked about by Dr Gregor

    • @westgardenia says:

She actually says: “However, the specific dose … depends on the form of omega-3 taken. For the triglyceride form, a daily intake of 1750 mg for 13 weeks …. In contrast, the less bioavailable ethyl ester form requires a higher dose of 2500 mg per day to reach the same omega-3 status.

  • @TheCookieTheMonster says:

So, are vegan algal oil supplements better? Or useless as well

  • @middleearthltd says:

I take algae oil which I keep in the refrigerator
The reason is the potential cognitive benefits, in particular to prevent brain shrinking
    Not for any other reason
If it is proven to be a waste I will desist but right now it makes sense to me

  • @allanspring4227 says:

Should vegans still be taking algae oil DHA and EPA? To lower dementia risk? How much should we take ?

  • @EduardoLopez-kq6bd says:

    Thank you Dr 😊❤

  • @StephenMarkTurner says:

I take a little, but for possible cognitive benefits and not heart health, since the brain contains a lot of DHA

  • @HendersonHinchfinch says:

Would love to see you and Dr Patrick debate this. I think she would school you honestly

  • @ign0bilium says:

Should we supplement with EPA and DHA?

  • @ritdor says:

In this video he caused more confusion.
He should have also addressed the benefits or not of omega-3 for the brain, and shown us the latest research on the subject.

  • @BeHealthy-n6z says:

I’ve always been told to take fish oil for heart health, but the science here shows no real benefits. I appreciate how you broke down the findings of so many studies. It’s time to reconsider what’s best for our health!

  • @sergiomontes2568 says:

what about benefits of omega 3 or fish on brains? Most poeple says is not good for the heart, but for the brain. It is confusing that his video only shows what we already knew, but says nothing about brains.

  • @Hyperion1040 says:

I take algae oil rich in DHA and EPA 😊

  • @jamesmitchell6925 says:

Save 15 minutes: No, don’t eat fish oil. Eat flaxseed meal, soaked chia seeds, walnuts, seaweed, and dark green leafy vegetables.

  • @plantbasedposer says:

Except that’s not the conclusion of the AND in their latest paper on vegetarian diets:

“Although consistent observational data suggest that higher intakes of long-chain n-3 PUFAs may be associated with lower risk for all-cause mortality and CVD,93 depression,94 and other conditions, interventional trials using fish oil supplements have been mainly unsuccessful across several cardiometabolic and cognitive outcomes,94-102 and evidence is lacking for intervention trials with plant-sourced EPA/DHA supplements.”

This suggests that consuming fish seems to offer benefit; however, the oils have inconsistent results.

  • @felixschioler says:

All scandinavian countries eat a lot of fatty fish like salmon and herring (containing loads of omega-3). We are among the healthiest countries in the world. our population grows really old if you compare it to countries that dont eat a lot of fish oil. How do you explain this Dr. Greger?

  • @dianeladico1769 says:

I take krill oil. It makes a dramatic difference for my RA and other inflammation.
