And I’m guessing having regular butter and eggs non organic avocado and sourdough from the bread aisle etc wouldn’t be considered in the same league as this influencers breakfast…go figure 😂

  • @edmg7 says:

Ah, the centuries old tactic of acting like you’re doing something new and different when all you did was change the name something that’s been around forever.

  • @Spenceco1 says:

I want to reclaim the term “processed” food. If you eat frozen corn, you eat processed food. If you eat stewed tomatoes or dried apricots, you eat processed food. Anything done to a food item that either prepares it to be consumed or prepares it for storage is “processing” it. I wish there was a separate term for the other stuff. But even if there were, no food should be off limits to the point of shame.

    • @breeze3364 says:

@spencecol agreed! They are called minimally processed and ultra processed, but it’s all shortened to processed which makes it confusing

    • @katelijnesommen says:

Yes, ‘highly’ or ‘ultra processed’ really should be used more to make the distinction clearer

    • @luisabolado says:

i heard ultra processed as a term for the most processed/less organic/chemical foods

    • @minoua says:

I agree although people are simply referring to ultra-processed food which is very bad for you.

    • @kirrarosematthews3645 says:

Ultra-processed foods can also be referred to as hyperpalatables, which is a mouth full (pun not intended lol) but encompasses all the high sugar, high saturated fat, salty stuff that we may think of when we think of “processed” food. Basically all the stuff that is super tasty that we want more and more of even though they’re very unhealthy for us.

  • @jadegeko says:

but he was shirtless so we weren’t listening lol!!
I love eggs but oof! that was a pretty high fat brekky! I agree, nothing wrong with processed (measured, chopped, assembled, seasoned) food as long as it makes you happy and healthy 😋
    (and more veggies, please!)

  • @TannilleBrown says:

What territory? I couldn’t understand what she said.

  • @stinky789 says:

If we don’t include the ingredients in the bread… that’s a six ingredient meal 🤔 and cooking is processing food

    • @kimmiestell849 says:

      Factssss…

    • @jimmymacnutrition6628 says:

He never said anything about processed foods. He said single ingredient. He makes an exception for bread because he likes avocado toast but says it is clean ingredients. Sounds healthy, so why the hate?

    • @frankieji says:

@@jimmymacnutrition6628the restriction mindset is the problem. i eat like this pretty frequently but without the “i have to stick to a certain diet” mindset 😛

    • @jimmymacnutrition6628 says:

@@frankiejiI think he is just saying he tries to stick to one ingredient. Obviously this can be difficult, but if he goes to multiple he makes sure they are clean. People then assume because he says this that he is saying don’t eat processed foods, that way they can attack him and say blah, blah, blah is processed and that is healthy. People like this guy are against “ultra processed” foods. Big difference. If more people followed this guys advice, at least here in the U S. we would not have 80% of people overweight or obese and 20% of kids with fatty liver disease.

  • @RealSigmaQueen says:

OMG. Butter, bread, avocado, and eggs, are 4 ingredients. He ate a 4 ingredient sandwich. This is just silly.

  • @Trista_Lukaszewski says:

Unless you own a farm and pick your own food, everything is “processed” to an extent. It’s the amount of processing that can become an issue if consumed in too large of quantities too frequently, this is why we say moderation.

    • @laurenburrow4338 says:

We harvest deer and butcher our own pork, which we call processing 😂 It’s definitely not the dirty word people make it out to be

  • @ViCT0RiA6 says:

Single ingredient i was expecting him to eat the eggs only, then bread only, then avocado only.
Im confused on the rules here

  • @Faythe98 says:

Man that toast looks good though 😂

  • @treefrog101 says:

    “I don’t eat processed food”
*Proceeds to fix the food up in the food processor*

  • @The13Nighthawk says:

While I don’t agree that this is the best way to eat, it seems like a lot of people are missing the point. It’s not that his meals are literally only one ingredient, it’s that each ingredient is meant to be only “one ingredient”. For example, he wouldn’t use ketchup because it includes tomatoes and sugar and other things

    • @spoonfulsofsugar says:

Genuine question: is it ok if you make the ketchup yourself? That way the ketchup would also be something he made from “single ingredients” right? So it’s basically eating things cooked from scratch?

    • @AJ-oy5iv says:

I have a similar diet and I make own ketchup and BBQ sauce. I don’t use any store-bought sauces. Many are cheap and easier than you’d think!

    • @The13Nighthawk says:

@@spoonfulsofsugar yes. I should have specified store bought ketchup! Thank you

  • @jimmymacnutrition6628 says:

Processed is not the olissiem nit is ultra processed foods. People are confused.

  • @wendywertz8828 says:

I must eat carb controlled or my blood sugar soars so you do what you must and do what keeps you healthy don’t ever listen to ANYONE ELSE ! Know you numbers and do something about it ! Exercise lift weights walk sleep avoid highly processed junk and be happy ❤

  • @corinnej2289 says:

I restrict myself to food that doesn’t make my stomach hurt and even sometimes I don’t follow that very well

  • @Emily-jj4si says:

“Eat clean” is a phrase that drives me up the wall.

  • @Gayoinion says:

People really expect their food to be shipped across the country in trucks and not be processed. Just because it’s processed doesn’t mean it’s bad

  • @nickt4279 says:

Advice on how to get someone out of the keto/carbs-are-bad mindset?

  • @sendbeesasmr3075 says:

Grateful to be past this phase of my life, some of it was OCD which improved with medication, but a lot of it was only having disordered eating modeled to me since birth.

  • @KathleenMcLaughlin-rv8pp says:

I think you are the absolute best dietician with the best insight and advice for eating healthy that’s out there. Its incredibly easy to become fanatical when it comes to diet, but your knowledge and insight allows for people to make healthy choices while also not getting crazy with it. Thank you for your content. I imagine you help a lot of people find the balance
