There’s a Fly in My Aging Research
How do you unlock the mysteries of aging? A primer on the use of animals to study aging.
I have a lot of videos that get into the nitty gritty of modulating aging pathways. For example, check out:

I love this channel!
Did I miss the common gene or chemical that run through all stated animals/insects that can potentially lead to longevity?
I felt the same way after the video!!! Haha
I think what he was saying is that altering a gene in worms led to longer aging and that could potentially work in humans but since worms are more genetically distant I wouldn’t get your hopes up. Even if we have the exact same gene that was altered it may not work the same in us as it does in worms.
@@BM1982.V2 perhaps, good take.
Going to cover the different hallmarks of aging and the proposed generic solutions for each, especially as Aubrey de Grey outlines? Or partial cell reprogramming?
We become 120 years at max because Yahweh said so. Humans can’t make our own vitamin C anymore, which is rare in the animal kingdom.
Well, there’s also guinea pigs, most primates, bats, capybaras, fruit flies, and many reptiles.
Is Yahweh a renowned researcher that has worked in this field for 30+ years or something?
no place for religion in science
@@Bajoli86 the Flying Spaghetti Monster has said we will soon be able to live to 200 years old, but we have to wait for him to bless us with his noodly appendage . Ramen 🍜🙏🏻
Jeanne Calment already broke the spell 😉

Yeast.
I wonder if Doc has any comment on the efficacy (or even just usefulness) of “brewer’s yeast,” or ‘nutritional yeast’? I’ve been consuming a ration daily for decades and it certainly hasn’t done me any harm (I’m a healthy and fit 78 year old). And I haven’t seen any online info that would make me avoid it. But I wonder if Doc has an opinion?
