Thank you for this refresher on low carb foods! I did well eating this way for a good part of last year, but the last few months of 2019 I let too many higher carb foods creep in. This week I started going back to basics, as I call it, so your video came at the right time.
Good to hear, Petra!
Maybe Becky could incorporate a recipe a week that is low carb, healthy, and one that she and her family really enjoy. Sometimes, I think we need some good ole tried and true recipes and INSPIRATION. Jean.
@AMDG_0914 I just watched a dinner recipe on the KetoConnect channel, you could check that out.
@AMDG_0914 Simply Misti has some good recipes.
Thanks for the all-inclusive list of approved foods, DB. Keeping me on track; making eating, looking and feeling good easy. Love it.
Thanks, Ann!
Becky & Keith. I just want to jump in and say thank you. I’m an ex tradesman and was very active. A sudden long term illness means I’ve been housebound for 2 years and am now pretty much chair bound. I’m on heavy meds that encourage weight gain, I’m alone all day and eating became one of my few pleasures, consequently I’ve gained 60lbs.
Purely following you’re concise instruction, I’ve started losing without exercise of any kind, and am never hungry. Like Keith, fortunately I don’t get bored with a repetitious diet and I am able to keep everything simple and eat the same meals daily. I’m enjoying the whole experience 2 weeks in.
You have no idea how this has lifted me, I thought I was heading into being a take the wall down and get me out case.
I sit and watch several of your videos at random every day and always learn, even if I’ve seen them before. I just need to get my wife on board who is the biggest sugar addict you’ve ever seen.
I hope you get back whatever you are hoping for from this, you have saved me, quite literally. I’ll come back and let you know how I go on long term.
Thank you again. Graham Manchester UK.
Graham, your comment touched my heart. Thank you, and I wish you all the best!
@Dr. Becky Gillaspy Thank you, I’ll be here the other side of the screen, and will be in touch further down the line.
This was great, thanks, I been tryin to find out about “what can’t you eat on a low carb diet” for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about – Ronaliana Future Falbala – (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my cousin got amazing success with it.
@angel sanchez , You should be ashamed. Advertising someone else’s channel here.
Good job

For free? I’m sure you mean in exchange for an email address.
I gave the name Frank Sinatra but a legitimate email address and didn’t get the list of foods you promised for ‘free’.
You mentioned onion as high in Carbs and that is startling. In any event you should have expounded on good carbs which is not debilitating to the body. Thanks
Thank you for the food list
Thanks.
Dr. Gillaspy: Have now tried 4 different times to download your list – not in my spam folder. Help!
Perfect! Been doing this low-card for a while and I was starting to get bored of what I was eating so it’s good to find all these options. Realised I’ve been making some wrong assumptions with things I thought were good to eat, but should only really be eaten in moderation. Thanks!
Just discovered this channel. Great content! A balanced scientific view with no apparent biases!
Saturated fats are not discussed so “balance” is ignored.
Very helpful to me Becky coming from a guy that has eaten junk and candy my entire life and finally trying to avoid diabetes and clean up my eating act at the age of 54. Thanks so much!
Could you please give us an update? How are things for you at this stage?
Older we get it’s harder to loose weight – I am struggling so much
Hope things are well David!
@Sheila Singh*lose
I have a feeling that the patients that come to you gets at least half healed listening to you speak, Doctor. Such a soothing voice 😌
Couldn’t agree more
I so agree with you
So true! She’s so calm and chill. I like that Dr. Becky doesn’t lecture or sound condescending. Love her videos!
I was just thinking that her voice is so soothing!
I’ve been doing this for over two years now. Went from 80 kiloes to57 within a few months. Sugar under control again. Cholesterol normal. Recommended for everyone. Thanks for this!
keep going Monica!
Keep it up👍👍👍👍
Well done you are an inspiration
Give us an update! I love hearing real results by women. It’s hard out there for us to lose weight. I’m 3 weeks in. I don’t want to weigh myself until I’m 8 weeks in. I’m afraid I’ll be discouraged if I only see a couple pound difference
I appreciate the information you provide in improving health through diet. I have chronic pain from degenerative spine issues which also triggers nerves and peripheral neuropathy. With your background, would you ever consider producing a video for a daily diet that focuses on relieving chronic pain?
Dear Dr Becky, thanks a lot for your high quality videos! I just discovered your amazing youtube channel. I’ve spent so many months watching videos about low carb diet but yours is definitely the best for me! I wish you to get many more followers 🙂
This is very valuable information. I am on a journey to get my health up to par, and many times I eat the same things because I didn’t have a clue all the variety of foods I can have. Thank you for breaking it down for me. It is a wonderful list & will help me meal plan more efficiently and include variety!! Thank you Dr.!!
As a recent exercise science graduate that participated in research on low carb diets I really appreciate your videos. The results we found overtime for consistent individuals was astounding!!
Great information, I love Dr. Becky’s calm, confident way of conveying this information.
Dr. Becky, have you ever tried bulletproof tea? I basically make a keto chai latte with black chai tea, coconut and almond milk (both unsweetened), ghee, and coconut oil. I also add some stevia, cinnamon, pure vanilla extract, and pink Himalayan sea salt. It sounds like a lot, but when whipped together, it is delicious! It reminds of a coffee shop order.
It would be really helpful if you could do a segment on high spiking insulin foods and low spiking insulin friendly foods. Both in vegetables, root vegetables grown underground are higher spiking than green leafy vegetables grown above ground.
Also which fruits are more insulin friendly than those that are high spiking fruits.
Loving your calm presentations and straight forward information. I started a keto, low carb lifestyle 11 months ago, I’m 57 and have lost about 40 lbs, however since the new year I have occasionally eaten a few more carbs and sugars, getting stuck in that sugar cycle and I’ve been struggling to lose my last 20 lbs, I keep losing and regaining the same 10lbs over and over in the past 4 months, which is frustrating. Thankfully I’ve kept my intermittent fasting going, otherwise I may have regained it all back. I’m at the top of my healthy weight range but I’d really like to be at the lower end, it’s there that I lose all my belly fat and feel most comfortable, I’m feeling inspired again by watching your videos thank you 😊
This is the kind of YT video one wants to see.
Mature, no blabbering, fake smiling .. to the point and smooth dissemination of Info.
Agreed!
I love your videos. Sound advice. I have never had a weight problem but appreciate healthy eating & never to drink sodas or processed foods. I lived in Greece for 14 years & that taught me to eat food in season.
This is good stuff! My mother in law was recently diagnosed with diabetes and putting food together has been a challenge
