Hey everyone I’m Abbey Sharp welcome to Abbey’s Kitchen. In todays video, we will be reviewing former Victoria’s Secret model turned fitness and lifestyle creator, @SanneVloet's, What I Eat In A Day. Can she successfully eat a highly nutritious, balanced, healthy and high protein diet alongside training and working out? From the age old 'how many eggs?' debate, to a box of protein cookies that cost $100, I have a LOT to say about this one…!

    Love your videos!

  • @sproutybeans says:

id love to learn more about the foodborne illness risk of sprouts, what makes them more dangerous than another leafy green? would the risk be different if you grew them yourself? ive never heard that about them before and im very curious!!

    • @kay1720 says:

They need a warm, damp environment to grow which is also the perfect environment for bacteria like ecoli and salmonella. If the seeds are contaminated, they can grow contaminated sprouts and that bacteria can’t just be rinsed off.

    • @brightlinebetty1258 says:

@kay1720 I am now heartbroken. I love sprouts and thought they were a great option. But thank you for the information. I had never heard there was even an issue before this video.

    • @AnnNikki8 says:

@kay1720 plus since they are SO delicate they are very hard to clean properly!

    • @bandanarathore says:

You can steam the sprouts to kill the bacteria.

    Pronounced San-nuh Vloot

  • @Annique says:

I have a sprouts habit, radish/daikon sprouts in particular. The crunch is what makes them so nice, and I fear overly rinsing and heating would make them a soggy mess. So I typically don’t, which I KNOW is badbad, especially since food poisoning could set my weight goal back to square one and maybe even send me right back to HA town.
I do wash everything else and practice food hygiene meticulously as far as getting food out of the danger zone and into the fridge/freezer ASAP, but if I have sprouts I just don’t want to mess too much with them.
I eat plant based so my risk of bacterial food poisoning is already lowered, but the sprouts is where I kinda YOLO knowing full well it could bite me in the butt.

I feel ya! Sometimes…you gotta pick your battles.

    • @mariejulie1081 says:

I grew up with a mom who loved to put sprouts on everything. She had a sprout plate where the roots go through a mesh and the rest grows on top and you can cut it like grass. I feel like they’re not as damp, moist and warm that way so maybe try that. Also I’ve grown up with eating them almost every day and I’ve the most delicate stomach and never had anything from the sprouts just the most random other things 😅

  • @isabelaandzico says:

Confession 🙋🏻‍♀️: I’m staying with my parents in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil 🇧🇷 (with an S please) they do food prep. So I have been hoarding (hiding 🙈) my favorite beans 🫘 and the sweet potatoes 🍠 😂 11:02

  • @celestialcircledance says:

According to a Google search it’s still not generally recommended by reputable sources such as a Mayo clinic, for adults to consume more than one or two eggs a day or 7 a week, especially if you have health conditions like diabetes and high cholesterol . I suppose if you didn’t eat eggs other days it might average out though.

  • @landscapefilms2525 says:

I really like Sanne and her videos, but sometimes you get a feel she lives in a supermodel alternative universe, as in the $100 cookie example 😆
I would love to see you do a comment video on one of Edukale by Lucie’s ‘what my french mom eats’ videos, I find them interesting because she is not a celebrity but an average person with (presumably) average income and resources for buying and cooking food, so feel much more relatable than all these influencers. Plus she looks amazing!

  • @andreaivory8566 says:

Sorry, I really appreciate your analysis of her meal plans, but her name is properly pronounced Sann-a…..not Sannn….just think of the “e” at the end as an “a”.
Thanks…it was driving me crazy hearing you say “sannnn”,not “sanna”.

  • @libraryminnie5892 says:

Every time I see someone put a generous handful of sprouts atop a sandwich or avocado toast I get that nausea saliva pooling under my tongue. I really did enjoy them on salads as well, hard pass for me now! Mung beans are delicious in a stir fry, but it looks like they have the same potential for danger. Geez. Loving your POD, Abbey! Excellent topics and interviewees!

  • @hannahmadyson787 says:

Love the video Abbey! I just tried Neue Theory recently, too, and got the wrong flavor in the mail. The issue was fixed so quickly, so thank you for such great service! I really like the protein powder I got anyway, too! Such a fantastic company <3

  • @marieque9298 says:

I love your podcast and this show!

  • @claudiarodriguezhernandez372 says:

Watching this from a third world country is wild! Eating two eggs and veggies for breakfast would be such a flex here 😂😂😂. Like seriously, if you’re getting 40g of protein per day you’re like on the minority 😢

  • @Cujo_Red says:

Didn’t know I needed Abbey to tell me it’s okay to eat three eggs instead of two. Three always felt more filling but I never do it because it felt excessive.

  • @mariejulie1081 says:

I love your videos and they helped me so much to learn about nutrition and make eating healthy more easy however as someone who’s allergic to dairy please don’t throw cottage cheese in as a protein source every time bc that’s just not an option. I don’t eat meat or dairy so I really sometimes have to get creative and would love some easy inspiration that’s not just beans or tofu 😂🙏🏼🥲

  • @hanelno says:

I’m really sick of this band of influencers that still don’t see their own disordered eating when selling others their ideas and products. Sanne has always pretended that ”balancing her hormones” and being unhealthy did not just come down to her losing her period from malnutrition and starting to eat more and gaining weight is the fix to that. Stop selling nutrition plans pretending that you need all this complicated ideas of nutrition instead of just admitting that you needed to gain weight.

  • @YTBlebs says:

What are the downsides to a diet with a lot of protein – especially in type 1 diabetes? A specific question that you may not know 😀
