Which NAD+ Booster Is Best?
You can naturally get your body to make more NAD+ by boosting the NAD+ synthesizing enzyme NAMPT.

My body resists blunt incursion.
Lol…
Try creatine 🙂
@ if only I were a yeast or rodent.
@@timstreeter2392 well we are more bacteria than we are human, so there is that 😊
Before watching, I bet it’s some kind of fruit =)
No actually it was exercise! Great guess though! 🙂
@@VeganLinked Yeah I took a wild vegan-guess, but I’m also a runner so it’s another good news =)
Well, it wasn’t fruit, but something very natural ! Exercise !!
Thanks for your videos!
Bryan johnson says both NR and NMN increase intracellular NAD+ (https://youtube.com/shorts/CPmt2nekKhE?si=aEUQ9gnw-5saVkzs)
1. thats an anectode, not published, you dont know the methodology
2. wtf is intracellular blood levels??
3. even if it he was able to do it, doesnt mean its going to have any positive effects… the last videos talked enough about possible side effects
E.g. Bryan Johnson supplemented with rapamycin until he recently realized it actually shortened his lifespan, so you probably dont want to follow his non-scientific experimental regime
First of all, his evidence is anecdotal, meaning whatever 1000 things he does may play a role to that increase that’s why we have clinical trials, cohort studies, interventional studies etc. to generalise results and pinpoint cause and effect. Furthermore, he said that they increased blood NAD+ not skeletal muscle NAD+ which is what is important.
He works out every morning, he should also test someone who takes what he takes and eats but doesn’t exercise. It would be interesting to know how that compares.
@@cherry7000If very healthy your NAD levels will be normal and not low, older and unwell get lower levels ..NAD is hyped up, it may affect health but definitely won’t change age or lifespan just like resveratrol was hyped up in the past ..aging is something way more complex that we may never fully understand as species because it’s so natural and starts before we are born even
Dr Gregor is very draconian on supplements. He is definitely fear mongering on supplements, but not all supplements are bad.
3:13 This is a key takeaway! Forget the hype, just get moving for a natural NAD+ boost.
What perfect timing for this great news. I just started exercising more and more over the last couple of weeks. I’m gradually gaining natural momentum toward doing this consistently and I started supplementing creatine because I keep hearing this great things about it. And I really feel like it’s working fast and very well. I know it could be Placebo but wow what a placebo! Anyways it’s great to have more reasons to exercise. Right before I started exercising I also did my blood work. And as usual since I’ve been vegan my biomarkers are excellent. But I did notice some creeping in the wrong directions. My total cholesterol is the highest it’s been since I’ve been vegan for almost 15 years now. That’s 145 for my total cholesterol. My LDL was 77, HDL 54 and triglycerides 70. Previous Labs or much better in all of these. For example 6 years after being vegan and only eliminating animals and not trying to eat healthy my total cholesterol drop down to 121. But I just haven’t been exercising at all in the last couple of years and I’ve been doing some other things I probably shouldn’t be doing and respect to Lifestyle pillars. So since my last lab I have been doing everything much better and will be excited to see how things change in my next Lab. It’s funny because I was just looking at a study recently on lean mass hyper responders who are on the keto diet. They had a hard time finding people with what they call Pristine metabolic dispositions and the criteria was less stringent than my biomarkers. So I guess I’m effortlessly metabolically pristine LOL. If only I could live in a more conducive environment where I actually had like-minded friends instead of none because I cut them all off due to their toxicity. If only I lived in a city that was designed to be healthy. If only I live somewhere where the sun would shine more throughout the year and I could grow my own Foods instead of being trapped inside a cage of a home within a food desert. My labs would be even more than pristine, impeccable… if I can’t find that utopian vegan Society I’m going to have to create one I guess!
Thank you!
Interesting to find out another benefit of excercise. 😊 Thank you Dr Gregor 🙏
I’ve just been recommended this video by the algorithm and I haven’t got a clue what this guy is talking about.
MNM? NAD!? NAC!?! Come on!
Supplements
With this channel being known for weekly uploads, this seems like one of the most dragged out and esoteric topics thus far.
Is it really that important of a topic? I haven’t followed, because I see “NAD+” every week, and I figured the series would be over soon. But now this feels like the topic of 2025.
There’s lots of ‘exercise gurus’ promoting NAD+ supplements at the moment. And NMN is very expensive. So, yes it’s important for people trying to improve their performance or response to exercise, that there is no significant experimental evidence to justify the expense, so they can spend their hard earned cash on supplements that work (creatine and ZMA for elderly adults wanting to increase muscle mass, B12 for everyone), or just on good quality whole foods.
This long series of NAD is simply to remind me to “Exercise.” I already knew that when I read How Not to Age! Jesus Christ
I’m not surprised to hear that exercise can be more effective at boosting NAD+ than NAD+ boosting supplements are; because everyone knows (or should know) that exercise energizes you.
Been walking and jogging at least 10,000 steps daily for about 5 years now (67 F) Hopefully that is enough to improve my levels!
Awww, exercise… again?? Can’t it be ice cream, just once?? 😉
I love this channel!
More videos on diabetic retinopathy.
How go stop progression in early retinopathy?
I want to take tmg, but do i need to take it with nmn or is it safe on its own?
